But in summary they wrote a song together, Taylor decided she wanted to keep it secret (although her fans have been talking about her involvement since the day it was released as the thought they heard her voice on it - I don't have the ear for these things). Then suddenly somewhat out of the blue she decides to go to the press confirming it was her. Calvin admits this says nice things, but then goes off on one because of the way she went about it.

All very entertaining. Taylor's not really doing anything on Twitter but it would seem she's being quite passive aggressive via her publicist.

You're missing the main bit - it is claimed that the reason they split was because he dissed her by saying (after the song was released) that he could never see them collaborating

That's just speculation though? Maybe I don't know, I also heard that if they split up it was meant to come out. Maybe TayTay just finally found time to do that when Tim went for that run.

Anyway in short don't mix business and pleasure if you're both songwriters with huge egos.

Also don't go out with Taylor Swift and expect not to take a huge battering from her PR team when you break up.
