I seem to have created a new word. *homophobic

APlaceOnTheCouch · 09/07/2016 23:53

Boop I forgot to say, thanks for the property porn link. It was fab!

Donatellalymanmoss · 09/07/2016 23:57

Well Taylor is on a bit of a career break at the moment, because she felt like she was getting over exposed, and that's not even a joke, she said pretty much those actual words in an interview. So it's relatively easy for her to fit in with Tim's schedule as she's not actually working.

I'm inclined to believe that her relationship with Calvin was the real deal, if only because it was reasonably low-key and he doesn't seem the type, also his reaction on twitter and instagram in the aftermath of the TayTo. Who knows though maybe it really just is all performance art.

SlowJinn · 10/07/2016 08:08

Sleb twaddle is where I belong on mumsnet. I have no burning desire to find out if Ronan Keating really is an arsehole, and I'm not overly concerned about any celeb, including Tayto - but I love the humour on here and the good-natured chat. I'm also intrigued by some of the batshit crazy conspiracy theorists I've stumbled over, mainly the Cumberbitches and Robstens and the barking mad Larries who think the baby is a hired actor/reborn doll but we're on thread deletion territory so I won't include them

This thread is a delicious distraction from real life issues, work, kids, money and stuff.

Oh and I, too, have a lovely mother-in-law, and I love it when she interferes by doing the washing, tidying up, buying stuff for the kids and is generally an all round fabulous Granny. Some of the anti MIL threads on here are breathtakingly nasty.

Back to Tayto. I saw Calvin Harris last night (on the TV, not in town) and I never knew he also had a thing with Rita Ora.

TheAntiBoop · 10/07/2016 08:25

I get the impression Calvin isn't exciting enough for a high needs woman. I think Rita and Taylor are high needs. He seems quite down to earth.

My mil is ok - she is a fabulous baker but a terrible cook. She was a militant feminist in her youth so always have interesting conversations.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 10/07/2016 08:37

Oh yes. I feel sorry for Calvin. He seems a genuine guy who has seated some shit crazy women.

What's a Robsten?

My mother in law is just brilliant, is an epic cook, and I love her.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 08:50

Awe I just watched the video of Tim with the 11-yr-old whose family paid €2000 to stay in the same complex because she's a TayTay fan. He was rather sweet.
That could have been one of us if we had pooled our sweepstake money (well LadyC because I don't think we could have afforded flights from a different country with our pile of 50 pence).

Star for Tom for interacting with TayTay's fan but nil point for telling the reporters he didn't want to talk about his relationship Grin

TheAntiBoop · 10/07/2016 08:56

I read that article and thought the kid is over indulged and the parents are encouraging obsessive behaviour!

If I were a celeb confronted with a sobbing 11yo overcome by emotion I would be a bit freaked out!! Unless of course I were a member of a boy band - in which case it is just part of the job description

Whentheshipgoesdown · 10/07/2016 08:59

robstens ship K-Strew and R-Patz and are convinced they have secret babies together despite Kirsten being gay. They're almost the diametric opposite of the Larries, although I never believed Robsten were together in the first place .

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 09:09

Totally agree Boop

This Bustle article makes the point that meta art installations don't really fit TayTo's public personae and it also has some Tim gifs.

Freshprincess · 10/07/2016 09:12

Video? What video?

TheAntiBoop · 10/07/2016 09:19

Just checked the Australian dm. The news section is almost as trashy as the sbos. The election result is around 6th story after a pregnant model who wasn't allowed to use the loo in a shop and a story of an Asian man and his son stealing a duck from a park (can't imagine what they are trying to stir up with this story...)

Whentheshipgoesdown · 10/07/2016 09:25

The Tim running article on the DM must either have been written using a bullshit bingo card, by a robot (and there was an interesting article in the guardian a few weeks back about automated article writing so not outside the bounds of possibility) or the work experience kid. Tim 'slipped his feet' into his trainers while Tay's arms are 'clearly on display'. They even fucked up one of their tweets by trying to get 'flaunt' into it

Slippery slope or moistened chute: how low can Tayto go?!
nicenewdusters · 10/07/2016 09:31

That was quite sweet, Tim speaking to the young girl. The love in my Tom/Tim-o-meter has just gone up a few notches.

Pretty awesome parents taking her to the hotel. My friend's dad drove us to the Brighton Conference Centre to see "Imagination" in concert when we were about 15, I think that's pretty much on a par ?

LadyCassandra - how are your plans going to abandon your family to TayTo spot on the Gold Coast for us ? Could you get yourself fostered by the young girl's family for a month or so, then you can stay at TayTo's hotel.

Some lovely pictures of Mr and Mrs Thor on the SBoS. No wonder she looks so happy, I would be if I had Mr Thor and his hammer smiling down on me every day.

Cocolepew · 10/07/2016 09:31

$2000!? Just in the hope of meeting TayTay!?

Here is a nice pic of Thor. Just because.
AND! A pic of his shoes.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 09:32

Video of Tim & TayTay fan

freshprincess it's about half way down the page.

whyistherumgone · 10/07/2016 09:33

whentheship that tweet is hilarious. DM are completely obsessed with that word. Might start a drinking game to make trawling the SBOS more shamefully enjoyable - drink every time you read the words "flaunt", "display", "showcased", "toted" etc - before long you won't be able to read at all or the writing will start making perfect sense.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 09:36

coco are they grey suede shoes?! Shock Is everyone in the movie contracted to wear them? Have we seen Mark Ruffalo's feet? Have we seen Mark Ruffalo at all?!

This is where you realise how much this romance has raised Tom's profile BT (before TayTo) he would not have had more coverage than Thor or Mark Ruffalo but now Tom is all over the media.

Freshprincess · 10/07/2016 09:37

Thanks I hadn't seen that, must have got sidetracked by the lovely Mr Hemsworth.

Cocolepew · 10/07/2016 09:41

Ruffalo is all ready there filming.
No word on his footwear yet.
See I think Tim was just as famous as the other two, more so than MR even. But I do have a Marvel nerd in the house in the shape of 18yo DD.
She has a Loki booblehead beside her bed.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 09:46

I think my 7-yr-old would come down on the side of Thor but I have loved Mark Ruffalo from afar since well before the Marvel reboot which may have skewed my perception of his fame. He's a fine actor and a good man. He should be more famous

SlowJinn · 10/07/2016 09:49

**

DH and I had a kid-free holiday a few years back, a 4 day break on the banks of Lake Como. It was idyllic and the highlight for me, was a boat trip past Clooney Towers (only accessible by boat or helicopter) and catching a glimpse of some bloke in the garden, who may have been GC but was probably not.
The boat was full of squealing women of a certain age (and my highly amused husband, who firmly believes George prefers the company of gentlemen).

Freshprincess · 10/07/2016 09:56

I'd say TH is the less famous out of them. I would have recognised him as Loki, but didn't know his real name Before Tayto.
I know the names of all the others.

I probably know more about Thor than I need to Blush

TheAntiBoop · 10/07/2016 10:00

Mark ruffalo is a much more established actor but Tim has the fan girl element.

Dad taking you to a concert miles away - fine. Dad paying 2k so you can stay in the same hotel as your idol and potentially catch a glimpse - indulging the obsession. I don't believe encouraging your kids to idolise someone like that is healthy though.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 10/07/2016 10:06

SlowJinn that's dedication! I spent a day at Lake Como (we were based in Milan) but all I can really remember about it is going on the funicular. Our boat guide obviously wasn't as thorough as your's Smile

freshprincess my favourite Thor story was that his brother had gone for the part too a bit like the Millibands and the Labour leadership if the Millibands were hot, fit, funny...
Chris was very 'we're all fine with it now' whilst his brother put pics on social media of his dog using a Thor doll as a chew toy - which seemed like a healthy and funny way to channel that sibling rivalry Grin
