Am surprised, it must be in the acting acting world as mentioned above. I'd never heard of ER until a couple of years ago but had seen TH in stuff a while back. I feel really sad for TH that he's out there competing against all those other actors and doing so well yet he's being compared negatively to ER by both himself and others who knew them both. If that's the case, he really needs to chill!

But why is Tom wearing the same clothes in all the pics? Like by the plane and in the car and on the beach? Why didn't he get changed? Except to go the gym and clearly he forgot to wear any underwear then.

If the airport photos are staged swift needs to work on her outfits and poses. I thought she looked terrible when she normally paps well

I will swap with the 'info' that whilst ER may not be known for doing crazy PR stunts, he sure does do his work campaigning. He is utterly ubiquitous at industry events at awards time. But people in Hollywood actually like that about him, as they think the normally the Brits are a bit above all that.

And - a PP said ...but TH strikes me as the kind of guy that if I met him at a party I'd end up thinking he's a pretentious twat. Oddly, many many years ago I met Cumbers at a do, and he did correct my English. Actually he mis-corrected it, and refused to countenance that I could be right, as his eduction cost tens of thousands a year. Yes, he is a massive twat. And I was right.

I suppose acting is so competitive that even if you are a moderately successful actor, you must have worked really hard at getting to where you are. It isn't all raw talent, Yes, I heard a lot about ER during his Oscar campaigns at every single event and schmoozing the studios etc. Maybe he's just better at it, as he doesnt seem desperate event though he is or maybe TH is now so completely desperate for Bond that he's completely lost all judgement? I don't love ER either. He looks too effeminate and was horrific in a lot of films. He got lucky with the Stephen Hawking film IMO. TH is a much better actor. That is why Im so disappointed in him

I think people think BC is v intelligent because of the parts he plays (Sherlock, Stephen hawking, Alan Turing etc). I remember reading an interview with Maxine Peake and she was a bit about actors being described as so brilliantly intelligent etc and she was like if you're so clever, why aren't you a brain surgeon or whatever then instead of acting? I don't know if it was in response to the BC mediastorm or actors in general, but I like to think it was about BC .
