Congratulations, First Great Western, you dismissed a woman - and just lost a regular customer.

onesleep.
Yeah, that might be a better question! Lol!

RandallPinkFloyd · 31/08/2013 19:27

"I had the most astounding experience on First Great Western."

Blimey, I'm pretty sure you're not using that word right.

I'm afraid I could only bring myself to skim, but I do need to say that whoever mooky is who made the second comment - excellent work Grin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 31/08/2013 19:28

So the only words she actually said out loud to the guard were "I'm sorry, it's just they're really noisy". And then she just stared at him until he went away?

She sounds a bit unhinged to me.

usualsuspect · 31/08/2013 19:30

Loving Mookys work Grin

Lethologica · 31/08/2013 19:30

I have an etiquette question:

Is it rude to post a thread on Mumsnet directing people to my own extremely badly written and pompous article?

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter · 31/08/2013 19:36

"Oh, testify! First Great Western man,
what did you think I would do, numbly accept your rudeness, which you delivered so happily and so openly? Swallow it down and crawl like a nobody back to my nobody hole, having been put down by you? "

This is my favourite bit :) It's the combination of the over long sentence, the odd formatting, and the sheer pretentiousness.

Oh, testify! Bidisha,
you were pissed when you wrote this weren't you?

garlicbargain · 31/08/2013 19:41

Grin Saskia.

185 posts inspired by this drivel Grin

usualsuspect · 31/08/2013 19:50

It must be a slow night on MN Grin

PacificDogwood · 31/08/2013 19:52

Oh, I am quite enjoying myself Grin.

I wish Bidisha (I am sorry I got your name wrong earlier, OP) would come back though and engage with us vipers.
'Tis beginning to feel a bit mean...

LRDPomogiMnyeSRabotoi · 31/08/2013 19:53

To be fair, MN does its best work with drivel for inspiration. Look at the crap baby poem thread.

MissStrawberry · 31/08/2013 19:54

Hurray for someone getting a seat who wouldn't normally get one as the OP would be sat there. Being dismissed not.

You really need to toughen up, love, if you think that was being dismissed.

And you need to learn to write better as that was shite.

Onesleeptillwembley · 31/08/2013 19:57

There's a formula to successfully write. The formula for this is;

Ego>Talent

Oh my, can you imagine the carnage in AIBU Grin!

'Tis a bit odd to just post the link and then run

theyoniwayisnorthwards · 31/08/2013 20:08

This is so WEIRD. She writes for the guardian and is often very readable.
Maybe it's a joke?

Perhaps the OP is still writing her next post. Hmm
If she thought the train conductors imaginary rudeness merited that verbose article I suspect any reply addressing the well deserved rudeness on this thread would have to be longer than War and Peace.

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 31/08/2013 20:14

Not your best work OP.

K8Middleton · 31/08/2013 20:16

Oh Bidisha I used to like you but with this ridiculous non-event and your piece about Caesarean sections (which IMHO was a classic example of falling for misognistic rhetoric about the capabilities of women as a homogenous entity) I fear you have become a parody of yourself :(

One of the crappiest bits of writing I've ever read. You sound like a 14 year old.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 31/08/2013 20:34

I got deleted! [proud]
