OP posts:
WhereDoAllTheCalculatorsGo · 31/08/2013 18:52

I don't recall ever having read a bigger pile of bollocks.

Flibbertyjibbet · 31/08/2013 18:55

I got to the end of the second paragraph and found it full of unnecessary words, yet boring. References to people which were bitchy, yet tedious. Name drops and self serving links which were yawn worthy, yet mindnumbing.

(see what I did there Grin)

flipchart · 31/08/2013 19:00

Where are you OP?

I think you're all treading on very thin ice here. You really should show more respect for a woman, like Bidisha, who will not be dismissed. If you aren't careful she'll write a long rambling piece about MNers who are vipers, yet sarcastic; insulting, yet not impressed by wibble. Then she'll post a link to it somewhere completely irrelevant, like the camping section. You see if she doesn't!

Sleepyfergus · 31/08/2013 19:05

And you're a journalist? Really? REALLY???

I best First Great Western are holding a party right now knowing you're never going to travel on their trains again.

Salbertina · 31/08/2013 19:07

Fucks me off actually- i was good at English at school but no one from my bog- standard comp really did things like journalism, you were aiming high if you went into teaching!

She had all the privileges of a Haberdasher Aske's education yet STILL writes so badly.. And gets away with it Angry? Nothing like useful school contacts, hey?! BiscuitBiscuit

HaroldLloyd · 31/08/2013 19:08

I'm sure she will be back. After all she is not the type of person to crawl like a nobody, into her nobody hole.

Salbertina · 31/08/2013 19:08

Saskia, sadly you're probably right! Probably only need to copy & paste and job done!

RandallPinkFloyd · 31/08/2013 19:11

I'm torn. I do want to read it because the quotes make the OP sound like a total knobber and that's always good for a laugh, but on the other hand I'm not sure it would be good for my rage.

So you see I'm tempted, yet trepidatious.

HaroldLloyd · 31/08/2013 19:13

It's bloody hilarious. I've read it three times.

I am amused, yet flabbergasted.

TSSDNCOP · 31/08/2013 19:13

Christ on a bike you're like the most dull writer ever.

usualsuspect · 31/08/2013 19:16

Read it Randall, you will think what the fuck is this nonsense, yet highly amused.

TheToysAreALIVEITellThee · 31/08/2013 19:16

Can someone sum up please? I couldnt get past the first sentence

HaroldLloyd · 31/08/2013 19:18

She asked the guard to ask some passengers to talk more quietly.

He said "you can't stop people talking"

Therefore she is never going to Bristol again.

Grin
usualsuspect · 31/08/2013 19:19

Some poshos in suits were talking in the quiet carriage, guard didn't give a toss.

Err, that's it.

Salbertina · 31/08/2013 19:19

And he only said that because she's a woman

Helpyourself · 31/08/2013 19:20

I don't think Bidisha ever engages does she, just throws us poor downtrodden mothers a little intellectual stimulation. Hmm
In case you do though- why did you post in etiquette? The whole concept of manners/ rules/ etiquette is anathema to a feminist surely?

TSSDNCOP · 31/08/2013 19:21

Toys it is a major storm in a tea cup, written incredibly badly in a style I can only describe as crap.

HTH.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 31/08/2013 19:21

She was in the quiet coach. Some noisy young people got on at Reading, and were noisy for 45 minutes (despite the journey time to Paddington being only 30 minutes). Eventually she told the guard that the nasty people were being too noisy, and he refused to do anything about it because she is a woman and he was a passive-aggressive sexist person.

Thanks, SDT for putting me straight. I stand corrected. Obviously my innate sexism came to the fore. Obviously not having the benefit of a Habs (is that similar to Hogwarts) education has left me unappreciative of the finer things in life, such as the OPs writings, and, indeed, the OP herself.

Salbertina · 31/08/2013 19:23

E for etiquette comes before F(eminism), like i said, dogs next if she's going backwards! Wink

Onesleeptillwembley · 31/08/2013 19:24

flipchart did you mean what planet is the OP on?
