Congratulations, First Great Western, you dismissed a woman - and just lost a regular customer.

Erm, someone must have been bored to write that?

Well that's 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back! You weren't ignored because you're a woman, you were ignored because it was a non issue. THIS is the type of thing that gives feminists a bad name - I feel embarrassed for you.

Good lord , you make a living from smugly rehashing your CV & concluding a person's (in)action was down to your gender with no supporting evidence whatsoever?? [shocked]

Wow! I've been a SAHM for 12 years & am finding it difficult to find a job that I recognise the title of, far less one I'd have the confidence to do.

Thanks to you OP, I'm going to apply to be a journalist - although I have no relevant experience, relaying my stream of consciousness whilst bigging myself up/putting others down seems very achievable- thanyou!

SDTG - is that your comment on the blog? (about the timing of the journey)

This is definitely on a par with the 'vomiting clementines' article in The Metro. Bloody love that article, makes me weep with laughter.

So does anyone want to buy her FIRST BOOK? The reviews are most entertaining Shock Confused Hmm

Yes, SDTG - only one comment though (wonder if the others have been deleted!)

Possibly the OP speaks the way she writes. If so, it probably took her half an hour to tell the guard nothing at all. Poor man.

What a load of bollocks hot air.
It is indeed a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing

Is it just me or is the OP coming across as a knob?

'Is no-one mourning for the West Country's loss, now that Bidisha isn't going to be lowering herself to use FGW's services any more? How will Bristol cope?'

Nah - we are rejoicing. I feel for you poor SE/Londoner types who will have to put up with her all the time henceforth.

Crikey, what a poorly written article. Stick to the point instead of bouncing around like a kangaroo on speed. What a waste of 3 minutes of my life. I will never get that time back Sad

"Is it just me or is the OP coming across as a knob?"

Nope, it is just you, Onesleeptillwembley - the rest of us are torn between our awe and admiration of her writing, and sheer horror at the appalling way in which she was treated! Grin

I am pondering in what way this is relevant to 'Etiquette': was it the outrage of speaking in the quiet carriage? Or that it was 'entitled young people' speaking (don't they know their place?)? Or that the FGW man didn't jump to Badisha's help?

This is distracting me...

Yep, forget Twisty being abandoned in a dark carriage, this OP was dissed by a guard as he wouldn't ask fellow passengers to stop talking on her request. All because she was a woman! Shocker!

Must be exhausting being so feminist.

"ASDA incorrectly charged me on a 3 for 2 offer and refused me a refund" #everydaysexism

"Costa didn't offer me a free refill on my coffee" #everydaysexism

Self indulgent ,yet tedious.
