Right, I've taken the plunge!

Get those catwalk pics in here quick!

I heard that they'd already filmed the "resolution" to RF. so yes, sqqqquuuueeee!

I have pondered many "meet the Batch" scenarios .......

Unfortunately, should the blessed event ever occur, I'm likely to go bright red, squeak "Excuse me Mr Cumberbatch, can I have my picture taken with you?", grin like an escapee from the local lunatic assylum and spend the rest of my life kicking myself for not acting "cooler" Grin

Hmm, have just uploaded a card I've made for my dd's birthday as she (and I) are huge Sherlock fans. It's difficult to see it in the photo though. Is it ok?

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2012 07:55

CaveMum - the details of how I don't turn into a gibbering wreck are the haziest of all. Grin

Longtime - love that card! Happy birthday to your DD Smile

Great card Longtime, I'm sure your dd will love it.

I was at a posh dinner last night and was seated next to a man whose daughter works in theatre in that there London. He said that if you want to get tickets for National Theatre productions the best thing to do is become a "Friend of the NT", which costs about £30 a year. You then get first dibs on tickets, and they're usually discounted to about £10 too!
I'm thinking £30 is a good annual investment to see some excellent productions and possibly some Batch action

Why does Lunnen have to be so far away? Bloody unreasonable if you ask me Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 28/06/2012 11:31

I'm afraid I've never heard of £10 tickets for members (cheap tickets are available if you're prepared to queue early in the morning on the day of performance, and for shows that are part of the Travelex season).

As for 'first dibs on tickets', there are different levels of membership. Obviously the more you pay, the better the benefits are.

I became an 'Advance Member' of the NT last year ? the cheapest membership option ? so that I could get priority booking on the Frankenstein tickets (a bloody good job too; by the time they went on sale to the general public they'd all sold out!)

I think a year's membership cost me £15 but all it got me was the advance booking option and each season's brochure posted out to me. For the next level up, £65, you get to book in advance of the Advance Members and get money off NT platforms. It gets more expensive from there.

I've let my membership lapse because it quite honestly didn't seem like that good a deal.

CaveMum · 28/06/2012 18:25

Aww, that's no good Sad

And there was me planning on hanging about at the stage door before being whisked away on the back of BCs motorbike [sighs]

What does a well-fitting suit look like? This

Longtime · 28/06/2012 19:47

She loved it! (And thank you for the birthday wishes LetUsPray.)

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2012 19:50

Grin Longtime glad she liked the card. Is DD your first teenager? I remember when my niece turned 13 - she's 17 now. Good luck.

CaveMum · 28/06/2012 20:34

Amen to that gif!

[goes for a lie down]

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2012 21:53

Thanks CaveMum I opened those last two sets and immediately this -->Grin happened!

LetUsPrey · 28/06/2012 22:27

Bit of a Chris Pine interview

"It is structured so that the antagonist brings out all of the qualities in Kirk that need to happen in order for Kirk to grow," Pine said. "As you know from Benedict, just watching him, vocally, he's fascinating. He's got this deep resonate voice. He's a fascinating face. He's a lovely guy and just super smart. You want to see something firing in his brain, so he's not just a blood-dripping-from-the-fangs bad guy. Benedict brings those kinds of smarts."

So, supervillain wearing tight clothes being very scary speaking in his gorgeous deep voice

Altogether now squeeeeeeeeeee Grin

CaveMum · 29/06/2012 09:23

Squuueee indeed! I, however, do want to see him in a "blood dripping from his fangs" role. He needs to do Dracula! [casts self as buxom maiden for him to sink his teeth into]

[looks down at flat chest, gets wonderbra out]

LetUsPrey, she's my third teenager but first girl teenager. She has been absolutely adorable up till now so I'm dreading the teenage years. My ds's didn't seem to change much - ds1 was a teenager from about the age of 4 anyway and ds2 just remained his easy self. I'm hoping she'll do the same. (Ds1 23 now and lovely :) .)

Anyway, back to BC and looking at those photoshoots ...

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 29/06/2012 10:48

CaveMum, you still could, but you'll just have to save up a bit for your tickets Smile

The National is rather expensive, I always think. In twelve years in London I've never managed to get one of the much-vaunted £12 Travelex tickets; they sell in the blink of an eye. Prices go up steeply from there and even though they publish the 'official' price bands in the season brochure, real prices often don't reflect the bands and any vaguely famous person in the cast always seems to mean a price bump.

Anyway, I digress. Sorry!

CaveMum · 29/06/2012 12:22

Thanks Clarice, I may well still look into it.

During some YouTube trawling last night, I stumbled on an old Texas video staring my older man crush Alan Rickman. I'd forgotten that Sharlene Spiteri had been asked who she wanted in the video opposite her, she jokingly said "Alan Rickman" and got him!
[ponders becoming a singer and demanding BC in all my music vids]

[remembers she can't carry a tune in a bucket]

I think this and this and this are some of my new favourite photos. Smile

CaveMum · 29/06/2012 23:10

The first one - his eyes are so penetrating
The second one - he looks like he's about to collapse in a fit of giggle
The third one - ditto the first one

[hmm, BC and penetrating in the same sentence......]

LetUsPrey · 29/06/2012 23:29

Oooh CaveMum how naughty!

(NB: I do not lol)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/06/2012 20:41

Heads up for next Friday!

No idea whether Benedict will be talking about the tennis or just be a guest. If the latter, I'm not sure what he's plugging as I don't think he'll be on our screens again until Parade's End in the autumn.
