Seeing as the Sherlock discussions are dying down I thoguth I'd start a new thread for all the BC fans out there - judging by the number of MNers with him on their "List", he surely deserves his own thread.

So here it is: a place to share videos, pictures, articles and whatever else you want. The only thing I'll say is that I'd appreciate it if no one posted a link to the video(s) of BC dancing at a wedding. Apparently it was stolen from his ex girlfriend and is the cause of much upset. So lets be respectful. Otherwise, anything goes Grin

I'll get us started with some personal favourites:

- pay close attention to the wink @ 0.42 and his whip action @ 0.51 Grin

And finally some gratuitous , with my personal favourite the black and white shot featured at 2.53 [drools]

Share/comment away Grin

What a beautiful film. I won't say anything else about it because I don't want to accidentally spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Squeeze in a bit of Sherlock now. So to speak.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 11/02/2012 16:54

Apparently Benedict is doing another Rumpole radio play soon.

Listened to the last one and to be honest, although he was good of course, it was all a little starchy for me. I generally don't like radio drama and this one, being a 'period' drama, was particularly old-fashioned. Still, if anyone wants any new Benedict voice action ...

CaveMum · 11/02/2012 17:41

I can't find any references to a broadcast date for Series 3, though granted I would have thought Christmas/New Year at the very earliest.

I hope BC doesn't read this thread - we'd all be issued with restraining orders Grin

I would be surprised if there was actually a firm broadcast date for series 3, since they haven't even started filming it yet, have they? And BC is tied up with lots of other projects for the next few months at least. I'm hoping for next Christmas, though.

I think this thread is relatively restrained compared to some of the blogs and fansites out there - what was that one on 'why they're hot'?

Oh, btw, I managed to be very adult and restrained in my conversation with my BC contact so no salacious interesting gossip, I'm afraid. I'm sure you're all very annoyed with proud of me. I might possibly steer the conversation in his direction next time...

LetUsPrey · 11/02/2012 18:15

I finished watching Unlocking Sherlock or whatever it's called on the first series bluray. Mark Gatiss is fab! I've ordered his three books today so should get those next week. I did try to get them from the local library but they don't have them, so I thought I'd treat myself and buy them.

I'm partway through A Study In Pink again. One of my favourites scenes - and this may surprise you - is the one in the warehouse between Mycroft and Watson. Love it!

Part of me definitely doesn't want BC to read this thread because he might think we're all a leeeetle bit sad/stalkery. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind him knowing exactly what I think of him.

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/02/2012 19:08

I think he'd find this thread great! I also don't think of him being arrogant do don't think this thread would make him think too much of himself like it could with some actors.

Sometime next week when dh is at work I'm going to put series 1 back on and watch all the extras.

LetUsPrey · 11/02/2012 19:33

Agree DesperateHousewife - I don't think he'd get full of himself. I, on the other hand, would love to get ful................ Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/02/2012 19:59

My sentiments exactly! Grin

LetUsPrey · 12/02/2012 12:54

Where is everyone? You're not all having real lives are you?

Shock

I'll be ironing this afternoon whilst finishing A Study In Pink.

CaveMum · 12/02/2012 13:40

Sorry Prey! I've been over in the daydreaming thred in AIBU. BC comes up a lot, particularly with the OP. you're not on there are you?

[eyes suspiciously]

Thanks for the link CaveMum. I've made my mark! Grin

Watching A Study In Pink now. You should see the shot I've paused it on.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/02/2012 17:17

That thread is v funny!

Although in a weird way I feel like BC is ours and no one else is allowed him Blush

SurferRosa · 12/02/2012 19:15

I kind of feel like that - I was tempted to post my confession of my dual life as Prof. SurferRosa Cumberbatch, Nobel Prize winner, but it feels cosier here. (I really have gone too far now haven't I).

LetUsPrey · 12/02/2012 20:51

I was doing the washing up earlier (glamorous I know) with iPod playing. After the Storm by Mumford and Sons came on. I was transported to a big swish do where I'm standing alone at some French doors with the hubbub behind me. (This is obviously a chilled out area of the party). I think no one can see me so I'm sort of singing along/mouthing the words. BC is watching me though. After the song finishes, he walks up to me and we start to talk. I of course am witty, intelligent and gorgeous. We take a stroll in the gardens and lie on the grass looking up at the stars whilst I point out the constellations (I'm a full on science astronomy type). The evening continues from there.

Helps pass the time whilst washing up! Grin

IAmSherlocked · 12/02/2012 21:08

I am coming out of a book shop, arms full of (very poncey intellectual) books when BC runs into me - he is trying to get away from a group of Sherlock obsessed MNetters teenage girls. He knocks all my books onto the floor and is very apologetic, helping me to pick them up and commenting on how I have picked out books which are (amazingly Grin) his favourites.

I of course am friendly but not mad and stalkerish, which he loves because of the contrast to the mad pursuing teenage girls, so he asks me if I want to go for coffee and we spend the rest of the day chatting, amazed at how much we have in common. We go on for dinner and then...

CaveMum · 12/02/2012 21:28

I'll repost my piece, slightly more elaborated, from the other thread:

I'm travelling on the Tube when I spot BC sitting opposite me. Our eyes meet and he smiles. We both get off at the same stop - he's following me obv - and he asks if he can buy me a coffee.

We have a long intellectual discussion over said coffee, which lasts for hours. He asks if I'm busy on Friday night.

He takes me to a big swanky A-List party where all the woman eye me with insane jealously, partly as I'm on BC's arm and partly because I look feckin amazing Grin

Afterwards we go to his flat in Hampstead where he seduces me looking like this

[WAAAAYYYYYYY too much thought went into that] Blush Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/02/2012 21:49

Ok mine is:

I get invited to a posh dinner/ dance eve. Lots of famous faces, most of them love themselves and are too dull to want to talk to. I catch a glimpse of BC sitting by himself, he's loosened his tie and undone a few buttons on his shirt. I go over to him and we have a chat about the other people and how he feels the same as me that there's no one worth talking to (except me of course) we clearly have loads in common so he asks if I want to go and get a drink at the bar. We sit chatting for hours and getting sliiightly drunk. I say im too drunk to drive home so he invites me back to his uber swanky hotel room where I undo the rest of his shirt...Wink

Saltire · 12/02/2012 22:00

Bugger - my secret is out. Watching the BAFTAs (don't ask) and there is a clip of Tinker tailor,Soldier,Spy and I said "ooh that's on ym lovefilm list" - then a clip of BC comes on and DH said "is he in it, I should have known, I wondered why you wanted to watch a spy film, did you know he was in it?"

LetUsPrey · 12/02/2012 22:03

Watching the BAFTAs with DH. The clips for TTSS came on for it's Best Film bits. I couldn't keep the smile off my face when BC appeared. Oh wow - he looks amazing!

I'd said to DH that I want to watch it when it's on Sky. I think it's on Box Office but paying for the film together with me grinning through a spy thriller would be a little too suspicious. Wink

LetUsPrey · 12/02/2012 22:07

Hahaha cross-post Saltire! I think I covered myself by saying "oh look, is that Sherlock?" after I'd already said I wanted to watch it. Smooooooth! Grin

LetUsPrey · 12/02/2012 23:36

Might be a problem with TTSS. How am I supposed to watch it without wanting to lick the screen?

LetUsPrey · 13/02/2012 08:17

Wonder if this is what his hair looks like in a morning? I'd love the chance to find out.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/02/2012 09:13

Lol at wanting to lick the screen!

TTSS is on my lovefilm list, might have to put it at the top now.
