Benedict Cumberbatch Appreciation Society: those eyes, those cheekbones, THAT voice!

Seeing as the Sherlock discussions are dying down I thoguth I'd start a new thread for all the BC fans out there - judging by the number of MNers with him on their "List", he surely deserves his own thread.

So here it is: a place to share videos, pictures, articles and whatever else you want. The only thing I'll say is that I'd appreciate it if no one posted a link to the video(s) of BC dancing at a wedding. Apparently it was stolen from his ex girlfriend and is the cause of much upset. So lets be respectful. Otherwise, anything goes Grin

I'll get us started with some personal favourites:

- pay close attention to the wink @ 0.42 and his whip action @ 0.51 Grin

And finally some gratuitous , with my personal favourite the black and white shot featured at 2.53 [drools]

Share/comment away Grin

May I join?

Am glad to see there are others who enjoyed Series 1 but it wasn't until Series 2 that you got that 'Hellooooooooooo Mr. Cumberbatch!' feeling. Am now rewatching Series 1 thinking 'How did I miss it? How?'

Can someone make me feel less weird, BTW - reassure me that it wasn't just me that melted when he got all protective and downright dangerous over the way Mrs Hudson was treated? Oh, to have a man who'd look after you like that...

But the cheekbones - the coat - the scarf - the eyes - the voice - the gorgeousness of the bromance with Watson.

ArthurShappey · 21/01/2012 19:09

Sherlock is on BBC4 in a mo BTW.

LetUsPrey · 21/01/2012 19:23

Ooooh more obsessives friends.

CaveMum · 21/01/2012 20:40

Now THAT will give me some happy dreams!

Now watch out for Sherlock and his coat collar, see if anyone else agrees!

The reference to rhodendendron ponticum has been bugging me. I've looked it up on good ol' Wikipedia but can't see anything significant. It does say that if ingested in high enough quantities it will cause a slow heart rate leading to a heart attack, but I can't see how that would help.

I've just found its all the main men in Sherlock but it is very good. When he falls on the sofa at 22 seconds is very nice.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 21/01/2012 21:20

CaveMum... I told you it's the air rushing through those curly locks that pushes his collar down as he falls! Smile

Kayzr · 21/01/2012 21:27

Mr Cumberbatch and Mr Smith Grin

Note to self, do not take laptop to bed when DP is away with work, bad things happen.

ellenjames · 21/01/2012 21:47

can anyone tell me if they know of any plans to show series 1 as i missed it!

CaveMum · 21/01/2012 21:48

Can't load your video from my phone for some reason kayzr Sad

Look up "Sherlock Toxic" on YouTube for some more knicker-dampening action Grin

CaveMum - I was watching that one round about the same time you posted. I've dug my headphones out so I can watch and listen on my iPod whilst sitting next to DH!

Let me see what else there is.

LetUsPrey · 21/01/2012 23:13

ellenjames - a colleague had said they were on BBC3 next week but I can't find them.

Kayzr - clip won't load for me either.

And just before sleepy time .

I'm sure I found a video with Go by Delilah on it but think I might be wrong.

Night all.

Kayzr · 22/01/2012 09:06

It won't load on my phone either. Sad it's really nice!!

TeamDamon · 22/01/2012 12:41

Did someone mention ?

I'm thinking: ipod, headphones, bed time...

Listen to the way he says 'pleasure', 'honey, 'paradise' and tell me you're not thinking the filthiest thoughts ever.

CaveMum · 22/01/2012 12:58

Is it a shocking indictment of me that my favourite word in that was "savage". [shudders, in a good way] Grin

No scratch that, I'm going with "Pleasure Dome" Grin

Damn you all - I am supposed to be marking and have spent hours Cumberbatch-surfing Grin

Love this interview but damn the man, can't he have any faults?

Talks about being broody again - I'll have your babies, Benedict!

CaveMum · 22/01/2012 13:49

Twitter reports that BC has been cast as the lead in the film "Phoenix", opposite Liv Tyler (lucky cow).

More on the film here. Filming due to start in late Spring, after BC has finished on Star Trek.

I'd need more than a one night stand...

AfriBaby · 22/01/2012 13:56

Spotted the thread and just had to mention...DH went to school with BC, both to prep school and after, and says he is/was also a very talented artist (painting, drawing whatnot). And that is about all I can add on this topic! Happy drooling. Wink

LetUsPrey · 22/01/2012 14:04

He can paint/draw too? It's those hands I tell you. Those long, slender, artistic, expressive hands....

I do like a man who's good with his hands and I imagine (oh how I imagine) Benedict is very good with his hands. Grin

Going to watch the clips now. Back in a mo.

By the way, anyone downloaded The Nightjar app? I've had it for ages. I'm rubbish at the game, I just listen.

exexpat · 22/01/2012 14:13

And he seems to be a really nice guy too...

CaveMum · 22/01/2012 14:13

Got a phone number Afri???! Grin

Just read the Guardian interview TeamDamon linked to. You know when you read an interview and you imagine the words in that person's voice? Put it this way, if he'd said "fuck" one more time, I might possibly have exploded! Grin

CaveMum · 22/01/2012 14:18

And now I am insanely jealous Envy
