Take a good book friend to the cinema with me, I suppose I could.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 00:33

I wonder what he'd make of the Mos Eisley branch of the Rover's Return

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 11/12/2011 00:34

Speaking of books - I have just found this fab website.

Really must go to bed now.

Bitey Knight and Sweet dReAms!

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 00:43

Loving the maps, especially, Spiro.Bitey Knight! I am really and truly off myself now.

Sweetest dReAms, to you too, Maudie and any other dear ladiez, one and all.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 00:44

Oooh, Spiro. I've seen some of those things in the 'best gifts' supplements in the newspapers. We already have far too many mugs in the kitchen cupboard, but I'm tempted by this one.

And, naturally, I'm tempted by this one.

Good night all!

VictorianChristmasVamp · 11/12/2011 05:08

Middle of the knight all!!

Just popping in to see how you've all been! Busy as ever!

Ditto on the ditto zooming!!Grin First thing I tried and was tres disappointed!

GrinSpiro asking about trailers! Bet she thought you were crazy! which obviously might be true but then it means we all are!Grin

Totally forgotten about the confessions site. Is it still as unreadable mostly? But I'm loving that one you linked to - I can't imagine he doesn't have a good sense of humour.

Hope all unwell people are better soon. We are all fighting colds in different stages - hopefully we'll get them out of the way before the funeral next week and Christmas!

Talking of which - it was a good day yesterday. MIL was missed. This was definitely her weekend normally - decorating the house etc and there was no underwear anywhere!! Grin Both Vampgirl and the colonel were upset at times. Hard to tell as ever about BIL and FIL - both are usually quiet!

Right best try and get some sleep before the knight is done. Smile

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 11/12/2011 07:17

Morning 'ladies'. Vamps, you were up early! Glad you had a good day yesterday, despite the to-be-expected upsets.

I haven't read the Confessions site for ages - some of them are sweet, some are funny and some are downright scary. And some people mention 'thighs like a God' Wink

Just reading back from last night and you were all very funny! I especially liked Massive's Unhappy you are with that prospect, Maudi-Wan :)

I wanted to see Hugo too. I'd heard that the reviews were dreadful (though I may have made that up?) but I thought it looked beautiful. I can't wait 'til TwigBoy is old enough so that we can all go to the cinema together - at the moment he watches for about 20 mins and then gets bored as it all goes over his head. We are all going to try Arthur Christmas together though.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 11/12/2011 07:48

Morning! That Maudi Wan made me chuckle too Twigs Xmas Grin

Vamps glad yesterday went well, I bet you are exhausted now. Try and take things easy - an impossible task at this time of year even without everything you are going through.

Toyboy Mj went to see Happy Feet 2 yesterday and said it was better than the first. I want to see Puss in Boots and am umping and ahhing over Hugo, not sure my two are old enough.

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 11/12/2011 08:38

Maud I definitely wouldn't mind finding the second one in my kitchen! I am a complete sucker for mugs. We currently have a very tasteful set of John Rocha mugs that match everything else, but I'd love to replace them with full compliment of the Penguin Classics ones in all different colours, along with a few matching tea towels. Have put the banned booked bracelet on my Amazon Wish List though!

I did have the bright idea Hmm of doing a set of 6 with my favourite poems on at the pottery painting place near us but it would have cost a fortune and luckily common sense got the better of me.

Vamps glad the weekend is having it's ups too. At least you are all together which must make a huge difference to everyone.

Twigs - do you think the novelty of the cinema might have a 'calming' effect on Twigboy? Hopefully not too calming though, I took Miss S to see a Christmas film when she was 5 and she slept through most of it (as did I with the Smurfs!).

As for Confessions this is nothing to do with me (promise!) but I'd be lying if I said the though hadn't occurred to me Blush (in lieu of a raving loon emoticon, obviously!)

VictorianChristmasVamp · 11/12/2011 09:20

Ah yes Maudi Wan made me Smile as well!

As for that literary site - hoping to get some inspiration for BIL's present as he's such an avid reader book worm doesn't do him justice - more like novel anaconda!

I wasn't so much up early as not able to sleep from 3-5.30 again! Currently switching HPs so hoping it will settle down when at home again in my own bed!

As for cinemas we've taken Vampboy a couple of times and he has quite good staying power which surprises me - vampgirl gets scared so quickly at anything though! Have to pick our viewings carefully!

Have good Sunday's all! Smile

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 11/12/2011 11:56

He's been to a few films Spiro; he just gets bored. I usually get a nice cuddle out of him though, as he's happy to just sit on my lap, which he never would normally do at home.

Rubbish weekend here. Was hard last week and we were all looking forward to going out for lunch today. But I wasn't well last night and am still not well today so they've all gone without me :( I went to the walk-in centre at 8am today 'cos I got really scared. They said it's one of those 'wait and see if it stops' things and if it doesn't then it needs sorting, so I'm on panicky tenterhooks now and feeling horrid :(

Vamps, I never had this sleeplessness on my other HPs (I'm on same one as you) so hopefully a change will help you. But then I did feel really sick when starting and stopping the others, whcih I haven't done with these.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 12:42

Afternoon all!

Here, in Massive's immortal words, is something to send the Sunday sprouts into orbit

So, there's someone on the Confessions site who think that OB's wife [note the word wife] is in some way a threat?

::worst fears confirmed emoticon::

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 11/12/2011 13:01

You are of course absolutely right Maud.

If I were to analyse my gut reaction to that confession, which I hasten to add I have not had the time or inclination to do thus far, it's not a case of seeing MK as a threat (which would, as you point out, be both barking and offensive to her & OB).

Personally, I think a lot of RA's attractiveness lies in him coming across as a very normal, down to earth & reasonably intelligent bloke, so one would expect him to opt for something similar in a partner. Generally speaking, one's perception of underwear models doesn't tend to involve any of those attributes.

I'm not saying that's a correct assumption at all (from what little I've read about MK for instance, she appears extremely intelligent & astute), but there is no getting away from the fact that the vast majority of people will have a stereotype in their head when they hear/read the phrase 'Victoria's Secret model.'

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 13:12

Oh yes, but this is exactly what leaves me scratching my elderly head. Even if she were to be a brainless bimbo (and how demeaning to her to assume or imply that she is) why would anyone think that their frankly negligible chances of becoming Mrs He Who Must Not Be Named were in any way harmed by his spending time in the company of a woman who is happily married to someone else?

::Realises that she is in danger of treating the Confessions site as people centuries ago used to treat Bedlam, as a place to go and stare at the mad people::

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 11/12/2011 14:07

The thing is with celebrity crushes is that it's all too easy to build them up in one's head to be a paragon of virtue.

If you then discover they are in fact a typical bloke whose priorities involve big boobs, a handspan waist and and legs that could reach NZ without the aid of an aircraft you're bound to be a bit (albeit very unreasonably as it is no-one else's business) disappointed in said crushee.

If someone is actually seeing anyone as a threat however, they clearly need to get out more.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 14:40

I mean threat in the very loosest sense, as in making the slightest bit of dfference to the non existent and imaginary relationship between you and the object of your crush.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 14:47

Anyway, onto lighter stuff.

and pictures.

Alas, I couldn't find Massive's picture of Gizzy as Santa.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 15:52

I'm very relieved you couldn't, Maud. As Harry put it, it wasn't dignified .

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 17:03

No, but it was seasonal (which is probably the antonym ::ooh, get me:: of dignified).

How excited, or not, do the islanders get about Christmas?

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 17:33

Here you go then Maud, against my better judgement.

He'll probably want to punish me now and I can't wait

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/12/2011 17:42

You misunderstand me. I wasn't asking (or even begging) for it, simply remarking that it fits with the season.

::::

VictorianChristmasVamp · 11/12/2011 18:20

Evening ladies. What a dark and filthy knight it is tonight!! An apparently he it's only going to get worse as the week goes on!

Anywho, was in your neck of the woods again today Spiro for a yummy pub lunch avec la family de inlaws. Good weekend alhough emotional - sorted through her clothes this morning for FILSad. Glad to home again now though!

I quite like Maud's Christmas picture - I just can't see Gizzy being a very dearie sort of bloke really!HmmGrin

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 18:21

You misunderstand me too, Maudie. I was just looking for an excuse to get punished.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 11/12/2011 18:27

I'm glad to read your day was bearable, Vamps, and for once that was not a silly pun. You are a tower of strength for your peeps.

VictorianChristmasVamp · 11/12/2011 18:52

Thanks Xmas!

Dearie in my earlier post was meant to say festive!!Confused

All snuggled up in one of MIL woollen wraps. Very cosy!! She had some gorgeous clothes. SadSmile
