What a waste, if ever there was one...

Alas, Harry, the fact that dear Jasper may - like most of the young men of the ton - have spent three years brooding in Oxford with a copy of the Ars Amatoria in his hand does not prove that he is an Intellectual.

Sadly, my ukulele career has stalled because of my inability to get my sausage like dextrous fingers into the requisite shape for some of the trickier chords. Hence I am confining myself to singing harmonies while Mr Thornton plays the euphonium.

Science and nature was always my best subject too Maud but I suspect it's because those were the easy questions that anyone can answer. Literature was my weak point. And sport.

I also had a dReAm last night. It was very brief and extremely weird but the Man was in it and there was a kiss involved (although sadly I wasn't).

Have had a lovely lunch with two close friends who I only usually see with kids in tow, and looking forward to an evening of partying and wrapping, although feeling slightly lurgish again at the moment,

Don't have time to catch up at mo. just need Spiro to send me some writing vibes as I seem to have offered to write and read MIL's eulogy!

But listening to the celebrant who was very nice reading what she was writing just sounded so impersonal and not her that I just heard myself offer!

So any writing thoughts and inspiration greatly needed!!

Think what is making you miss her, Vamps perhaps, and write that down? With the odd tiny eccentricity, that was uniquely hers, so it doesn't get too sickly sweet?

Harry would have some good ideas, I am sure, as well as Spiro.

I think Massive is spot on tbh. I'd suggest you think of the different roles she had in everyone's lives and what she meant to them as a wife, mother (in-law), grandparent, daughter, friend etc.

The odd eccentricity or slightly humorous story can go down well, but bear in mind what you will be able to cope with on the day as well as what everyone else wants/expects to hear.

I'm sure you'll do a great job.

Evening Ladies?

What entertainment did you have in mind exactly?

I am only fit for a pyjama party as I definitely have early-onset lurge. Feeling a bit tired and emotional (albeit better than earlier) & throaty and slightly achy.

Have managed not to take anything so far, but have made myself very cosy and am drinking lots of very cold OJ and lemonade (although have hot whisky toddy if I need to bring out the big guns later)!
