The Principal

Get well soon Maud!

Well, Spiro, though she used to do what she needed to do just fine, my mum could be totally bonkers in the best possible way. and i know how great it was -I was never envied any of my friends their mums, anyway..

I am sure that is what Miss Spiro will remember, not the fact that the school was always bugging you.

Oh Vampster, how awful about the Colonel's mum :( Especially after the last lot of news that you had was positive. So sorry for you all.

He does such a delightful self-satisfied smirk at the beginning of that, LadyGIMTS.

As the Sheriff says. Enjoy!

GizzyIsMineTilSunday · 28/10/2011 23:16

I like the slight flaring of the nostrils and the tilt that precede it too, Massive.

I didn't really think this nickname through, did I? GIMTS sounds rather like something the Sheriff would indulge in Hmm.

GizzyIsMineTilSunday · 28/10/2011 23:20

Ooh, now I do like a Man in a frock coat and cravat (although Percy is a bit of a git it would seem).

SupermenacingLBD · 28/10/2011 23:30

I have never met a bit of Gizzy I don't like, LadyG -- I shall call you that for short, shall I?

GizzyIsMineTilSunday · 28/10/2011 23:48

That sounds a little less rood, Massive although what I have in mind for Gizzy this weekend is far from ladylike and genteel.

TransylvanianVampiress · 28/10/2011 23:51

Hi all. Will catch up from where I left earlier but just needed confirmation that I am hallucinating!! Saw this man on graham norton this evening and thought he looked pretty similar to our esteemed subject matter!! Maybe crossed with a bit of DT! Need to find a picture of him from tonight but couldn't!!

Anyway phone battery going as ever cos I spend too much time on here and I better go and comfort the colonel.

Smilexxx

SupermenacingLBD · 28/10/2011 23:51

No wonder he's smirking, then. Shock

DumSpiroScaro · 28/10/2011 23:53

Vampy - it is odd you should say that as James MacAvoy stars in the Shakespeare retold as Macbeth with RA playing MacDuff.

A friend borrowed my copy recently because she fancies JMcA!

. Night Vampy, thinking of you and the Colonel.

I must go myself, but I do so in the knowledge that Gizzy is in very good hands, LadyG Shock Blush Grin

DumSpiroScaro · 29/10/2011 00:08

I'm preparing myself for a very bad Knight!

Sweet dReAms one and all.

A friend borrowed my copy recently because she fancies JMcA!

Fancying James McAvoy? Ha, who would do such a thing?!

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 29/10/2011 07:51

He's not exactly your 'bit of rough' sort of man, is he? Whilst I can't say I see any ResemblAnce, I definitely agree that he's like DT! I first saw him as Mr Tumnus in The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and was absolutely blown away by him - it sounds daft to say it about a fairly small role in a kids' film but I hadn't seen acting like it since this I was speechless and that rarely happens, as Dr T will attest :)

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 29/10/2011 08:12

Morning 'ladies' Grin, I was enjoying RL last night and will also being that tonight too, I am beginning to feel like a real person instead of a hairy trucker!

Vampy, I'm so sorry to here about the colonel's mum, there's not a lot you can do except be there as you're needed and try and keep some normality to your lives while she is going through this. Having been there with my own dad, that is what I wanted most from people.

We do Halloween here, I remember trick or treating when I was in junior school so it has been around since time began for a while, think the traditions come from Ireland and Scotland and they took it to the states.
We will take the Smallboys out to houses that are decorated and we have loads of sweets here for any small ghosties that come knocking. It's the big ones I don't like.

DumSpiroScaro · 29/10/2011 08:26

Twigs - you fancied Mr Tumnus?! Shock

I never hear that name now without thinking about the VoD locking Alice in the cupboard after telling her it's the way to Narnia. Grin

Have you seen Shakespeare Retold - The Man's not in it much but it's very well done. Will have to get round to watching the other stories too sometimes

God help me - I have just connected Miss Spiro's DSi to the internet - she seems to have sussed what to do with it quicker than me Confused, and has just downloaded a free sample of a Mario game.

As for your bad Knight Lady D/G...

...can you send him my way when you're done!

OP posts:
pARGHssTheTwiglets · 29/10/2011 08:42

Oh heck no, I didn't fancy him as Mr Tumnus!!! Even I am not that bad :) No, it was a mere fascination for his acting. I was so impressed that I checked out some other things he was in and that's when I realised "oh and he's cute too!" :)

I've not seen Retold, no.

Small, how great that you've had some fun RL evenings, I'm so pleased for you! I loathe Trick or Treating. Mainly 'cos it involves me getting up off the sofa :) I can't bear having my evening interrupted by having to answer the door all night long and then I get stressed when 'kids' knock late and worry they'll wake TwigBoy up. And then I hate taking the kids in case you are met with blank faces when a neighbour answers the door and then it's awkward and embarrassing. But we live in a cul-de-sac with quite a few families with young kids and last year the kids all went together (we only do our road) and quite a few people said they were expecting us so it was ok. We have two Halloween parties this year though so not sure when we will fit it in!

DumSpiroScaro · 29/10/2011 09:08

Thank God for that Twigs! Grin
