The Principal

Get well soon Maud!

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 08:27

While researching dr Alec, purely for twig's and small's children's sake you understand, I came across this fab quote. I'm sure we could tell him when heart massage was necessary!Wink

Also means he is well trained for Maud's toe massages!Grin

"I think I could do cardiac pulmonary resuscitation - massaging the heart - but whether I would know when to do it is another question entirely. I can now suture wounds, take someone's pulse, give them aspirin. In fact, I could probably do quite a few procedures now. Not legally though

Hope today gets better Spiro!Smile

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 08:30

LOL @ giving someone aspirin being a medical procedure, bless him :)

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 08:30

Hi twigs. You waving cos you knew I was here or cos you moving to the power of the happy tablet!! Happy drugs are great!GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinConfused

Castle is calmer this morning. Quite cosy. Sun is shining after storms of yesterday. Whole complement of family nearly here - last couple don't arrive til Friday evening. We haven't all been together ever as the colonel has never made it to one of these reunions when ickle bro's long term girlfriend has been able to make it!! Going to be a full house!!Grin

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 08:42

not legally though who cares? Just get you hands on me! Grin

Spiro, keep grinning and bearing it.

Twigs, I don't even know what to say other than this too shall pass - get well the Twigs family!!

Vampy, glad the sun is out in the castle this morning.

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 09:04

Vampy, I meant the latter. Can I PM you about it?

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 09:35

Course you can twigs. Nothing to be ashamed of - it's a disease just like, say diabetes, your body lacking the correct amount of a certain chemical. Still got such huge stigma over it though. But let's chat more off-line

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 09:36

Small
So confused as the day of the week But should you be working today?? Shall we send some more manly men to beg order you to work?!Wink

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 09:54

I've been on them before, Vampy, but am thinking trying a different one this time, as felt so ill going on and off last one. Will PM you in a bit, thanks!

Smally, do your have your nanny there this week? Must be so hard having to work but having kids on school holidays.

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 10:19

Yes working today and every bloomin day

Supernanny is here, well not here now, they've gone out so all is peacefull other than the grinding of my teeth.

You Ok Twigster?

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 10:38

Yes I'm alright thanks, Smally. Just could be doing better, is all.

Can you ever give yourself time off, or is there just too much to do? I know that DrTwigs finds it hard to take annual leave because he's so busy and when you work for yourself, as you do, it must be even harder :(

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 11:24

I feel incredibly guilty if I take time off and all I can think about is the work building up in my absence. If it was paying well I could employ someone else to do some drawing while I am at the seemingly endless meetings but the money is pants. Maybe when the SBs are both at school and I don't need a nanny.

LadyDamnearhell · 26/10/2011 11:27

::sends big hugs for Spiro, Twigs and Smallio::

There's loads of different happy pills available, Twigs, I think it's just a matter of finding the one that suits you best, although the start always seems to be a bit rough with all of them, ime. I built up slowly last time and although it meant they didn't kick in as quickly, the side effects were less horrible.

We are having a duvet day today - crappy TV for the MiniDs and laptop for me. Heaven!

LadyDamnearhell · 26/10/2011 11:30

How long til the smallest SmallBoy goes to school, Smallio?

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 11:41

Next year Lady D, we just missed out this year

LadyDamnearhell · 26/10/2011 11:45

Damn that September cut off!

This year will fly by, though, if MasterD2's preschool year was anything to go by.

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 12:11

I don't mind for him as it means he will have an extra year ahead of many of the others but its the money! We just need to keep our heads poking out above the water.

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 12:13

That was a lovely pic Small, but he wouldn't be able to carry me like that - I think I am the only woman in history who had to jump over the threshold as she couldn't be carried :o

LadyD, I know you are supposed to come off them really slowly but I'd never thought about building up slowly - that's interesting and makes a lot of sense. How are you doing today?

Small, even if it's not a long-term possibility, could you pay someone to help with the drawing just for a short while, to give you a little break?

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 12:28

But Twigs, PR can lift us all like we are feathers. Wink

No, there's no spare cash at all, mortgage is too enormous and I am quite terrified of the heating bills this winter. I may consider sending the children out begging soon. Grin

Lady D, sounds like you're having a lovely time today, hope you are OK.

LadyDamnearhell · 26/10/2011 12:39

I'm doing okay, today, thank you. I wasn't as close to this Grandma as I was to my Grandpa who died in the summer but it's stirring up all the memories of that time which I'm struggling a bit with. Hey ho.

I know what you mean, re enormous mortgage and heating bills, Small. I still haven't put it on yet. Oil is terrifyingly expensive atm and we go through an entire tank in 8 weeks when the cold weather really sets in, thanks to the complete lack of insulation in the Priory. Extra jumpers and thick duvets are the order of the day here. I often contemplate whether one of the MiniDs would fetch enough on EBay to cover a tank of oil or a mortgage repayment.

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 12:40

But how many would you have to sell to get you through the whole winter Lady D, at least two surely? Grin

LadyDamnearhell · 26/10/2011 12:48

Yup, but then we could buy a smaller house, perhaps with some insulation and solve all our problems. It's a winner every way you look at it, imo Grin.

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 26/10/2011 13:31

hmm i like your thinking, do you think they sell by the pound?

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 13:52

::cough splutter gasp:: Just escaping for a brief break from helping my sis empty her wing of the castle!!! So much crubbish and dust!Grin

Twigs - got your message will reply later when more time but lady d is right - there are many different types so you keep changing til you find one that suits!

Lady d - your day sounds idyllic! Just what I want today! Never easy losing someoneSad. When's lord d back?

Small & lady d I know what you mean about heating costs! No insulation whatsoever in military houses hence why I need JP to keep me warm at night Never had oil when I needed to pay for it before (was included in the rent last time we had it!). Already had to fill up once and amazed how quickly it's going down just with the heating!Smile

We need to all club together and employ each other for our various specialities within the commune with PR to love and support us!!Grin. Then money worries will be a thing of the past!Grin

TransylvanianVampiress · 26/10/2011 13:56

Mean heating the water not heating the house!! Dread to think how quickly it will go down then!Confused

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 26/10/2011 14:09

For those of you wanting a few extra quid, get yourselves some of these to sell on ebay. They cost £14 but sell for £25 on ebay at the moment and nearer to Xmas last year they were selling for over £100. I've bought 2 to sell later. Of course they may not sell at all this year and you'll just waste £14 but I'm going to take the chance :) But don't sell yours at the same time that I'm selling mine :)
