Good morning. I have started the week with a rant about getting old before my time here

This weekly series of threads has been great for my blog. Great for hits, great for feedback and great networking and discovery of other blogs. So don't just post and run, try and take a moment to look through what we've all got to offer. There's so much variety and great writing on here.

Also, this week is the MN week for their Miscarriage Code of Care Campaign. MmeLindor has been co-ordinating the blogging side of this so will be able to remind us how we can get involved if we wish.

I LOVE the idea of Wuthering Heights fb posts :)

I must admit I am a bit of a Wuthering Heights fangirl. DD1 has two middle names, and they are...you guessed it...Catherine and Isabella. We didn't use any as a first name because, well, they aren't exactly role models, are they?

(Am working my way down the posts, catching up and looking at the amazing blogs - it really is very inspiorational to see so much excellnt writing)

JoanneMallon · 13/10/2011 19:48

Have just posted a competition to [[http://joannemallon.typepad.com/joanne_the_coach/2011/10/competition-win-giveaway-beautiful-bars-of-lovely-organic-chocolate.html
win a big haul of organic chocolate]]. Not that anyone would be interested in that

secretely hoping no one enters and I get to keep the prize

MmeLindor. · 13/10/2011 19:49

Oh, I was not expecting to get into the top 20, so it is not a disappointment. I realised after I posted how far from the formulaic M&B my manuscript is, but it was good exposure for my writing.

MmeLindor. · 13/10/2011 19:49

I suspect that you might get a few clicks on that comp, Joanne.

MmeLindor. · 13/10/2011 19:51

Oh, and I have just noticed that you were a fan of the Royal Wedding tat. I had a great time finding obscure stuff.

One of my posts today

Thefoxsbrush....if you click on your picture when editing your post, you can choose what size you want them. A little toolbar opens under your picture. I usually choose medium and that puts them at a good size for the post.

Sally - The Tudor's is not strictly accurate WinkGrin

Tiara - Weir said that all writing about Mary up until now is incredibly inaccurate and based on a lot of gossip. She's 100% certain that the son was William Carey's, not Henry's for various reasons, but that there's a lot of evidence she has uncovered in researching the book that suggests that Catherine was Henry's.

History buffs may like this blog, such a great writing style.

Flamingo - You've burst my balloon re The Tudors, really. Great tudor porn though, I was in love with Henry, oooh so powerful.

AND I have to say I adored Wolf Hall. I'm a big fan of Hilary's.

SenseofEntitlement · 13/10/2011 21:10

I'm on one now about children's books...

My new book buying rule

Thefoxsbrush · 13/10/2011 21:50

Thanks shellouise! Will take a look tomorrow

shelllouise · 13/10/2011 22:13

You're welcome :)

Witchthis · 13/10/2011 23:39

I've done my post for the miscarriage campaign. Harder than I thought. I've been lurking recently but good to read everyone's posts.

Things I wish someone had told me nearly 7 years ago when my disabled child was born...please share it with other parents who are just starting out on this journey

Forgot to post this lovely guest post about babies and music on Wednesday. Have written about stubborn parents today...will post a link this afternoon some time.

Sally - I'm afraid he really wasn't that sexy, either, and was rather shy and prudish, believe it or not! Grin

SallyDon · 14/10/2011 10:50

OK Wolf Hall fans, please explain. I love Tudor history and read every book both fiction and non-fiction on the topic I can find. But although I respect that Wolf Hall was really well researched, I didn't get any pleasure from reading it at all.

Can someone explain why it was so good?

PetiteRaleuse · 14/10/2011 13:21

FB that's a great guest post. My daughter is my biggest and only fan of my singing. We have great fun.

I hadn't heard of Wolf Hall.

Do I buy it? Do I not? Decisions...

MmeGuillotine · 14/10/2011 13:40

Wolf Hall was just okay. I'm suffering from Tudor Ennui right now though so just the mere mention of them makes my brain switch off. I admired the writing and the way it was crafted but the actual story just didn't grab me.

A Place of Greater Safety, her earlier novel about the French Revolution, is far FAR superior I think. I LOVE that book.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/10/2011 13:44

I'd like to read that one

Tudor Ennui? No! I've been obsessed since A Level History. Though I think you get bombarded with them over there with the films and T Vseries etc so maybe it gets annoying. We do get the films and TV shows here but as they are British they don't get the same billing as if it were French history.
