Good morning. I have started the week with a rant about getting old before my time here

This weekly series of threads has been great for my blog. Great for hits, great for feedback and great networking and discovery of other blogs. So don't just post and run, try and take a moment to look through what we've all got to offer. There's so much variety and great writing on here.

Also, this week is the MN week for their Miscarriage Code of Care Campaign. MmeLindor has been co-ordinating the blogging side of this so will be able to remind us how we can get involved if we wish.

Sorry about that, Tom and MmeG. I know that in the few years after my miscarriages I would have been too raw to write about them.

Ok, I now declare this thread a campaign free zone. Lets keep all the campaign talk on the other thread.

MmeGuillotine · 09/10/2011 17:58

Sorry to hear that, Tom. :/ xxx

DillyTante · 09/10/2011 19:31

Hello all. Sorry to hear about all your personal experiences with miscarriage. I'm fortunate not to have any personal experience of it. But big hugs to you all :)

PetiteRaleuse · 09/10/2011 19:47

MmeGuillotine and anyone else who's interested was wondering if you had heard of this blog: the-history-girls.blogspot.com/

It's quite new but pretty interesting, written by a group of historical fiction writers. They're also on Twitter.

I've seen that one before but it isn't really the sorts of periods that interest me. They write interesting things though! :)

TheGrassIsJewelled · 09/10/2011 20:20

a blog about the weekend.

SenseofEntitlement · 09/10/2011 21:49

In which I am a shocked feminist mother

breadfortheboys · 09/10/2011 22:10

Sad Tomisina and MmeG. Thanks for starting the separate thread MmeL

Bettybeetowers · 10/10/2011 07:58

My blog this week is "The Lips have it" The ultimate red lipstick wearers plus win a "Fabulous Fanny Cradock" teatowel.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/10/2011 08:38

BettyBee I wish I had the nerve to wear red lippy like that. I have done it and felt strangely good when wearing it, but I have to be bullied encouraged.

Grass every now and again someone mentions Borough market and I feel suddenly nostalgic for my couple of years in London. Even though here in France there's heaps of great markets.

Shock at that book SenseofEntitlement I'm surprised they are still allowed to stock such bollox.

petite I find London so refreshing (never lived there, although I did live in France Smile).

The pictures are all either taken by me or from google image search with 'reuse' selected. Thanks to this thread for that tip Grin.

Thanks for the comments/follows - hugely appreciated. Off to check out your new posts now...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MME GUILLOTINE

Thanks

and

FlamingoBingo · 10/10/2011 09:36

Sorry to hear of all the miscarriage pain Sad I too am lucky enough not to have experience.

I agree with Tee with regard to the photos, but there is no need to use photos that aren't specified as licensed for anyone to use because there are hundreds of thousands on Flickr and, although I only just found out thanks to this thread, on Google images too

Senseofentitlement - Shock

OK, today's post is continuing the milk supply series - when is it a genuine problem and what can you do about it?

FlamingoBingo · 10/10/2011 09:37

Ooh, and happy birthday, MmeG - sorry to hear you had such a tough time at the RNA thingy.

Dan Steven's recognised me from Twitter yesterday!!! Am in shock! Grin

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 09:47

Thanks for the birthday wishes! :)

Gah, Dan Stevens and to think he was so worried about me when I was wandering around Weston super Mare in a state of drunkeness! I expect I just wasn't slebby enough for him to carry on following. ;)

FlamingoBingo · 10/10/2011 09:52

He was signing my book, and I said 'I'm afraid I've been harrassing you on Twitter a bit' and he said 'Oh! Are you Clare?!'. He was really lovely...but he's not following me back yet Hmm

My SIL took a photo of the exact moment - he looks horrified in it - it's hilarious! But he actually didn't look that horrified IRL, which just goes to show how stupid all those 'So and so looks really grumpy' photo thingies in celeb mags are!

Will put the photo on my profile.

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 09:58

I wonder if I can guilt trip him into doing a short interview for my blog...

FlamingoBingo · 10/10/2011 09:59

Ooh, go on! Say @clarekirkp sent you - my influence is bound to be invaluable to you Grin

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 10:03

I have made a start on my Twitter onslaught. I bet he's blocked me. Did you know that the very first person that I know to have blocked me on Twitter was Kirsty Allsopp? I'd only been on there a week!

SallyDon · 10/10/2011 10:27

Sorry to jump subjects here, but just had to share this .....
Following my blog post on adoption yesterday DEREK HATTON IS FOLLOWING ME ON TWITTER.

FlamingoBingo · 10/10/2011 10:32

How do you find out if they've blocked you, MmeG?

MmeLindor. · 10/10/2011 10:34

Why would Kirsty block you? Did you criticise her knicknacks that she makes?

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 10:35

Because she Tweeted me directly afterwards but it never showed up in my mentions. I had to look at her feed to see it after people told me about it.

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 10:36

I tweeted that I thought her handmade show was rather twee and that I'd like to strangle her with Cath Kidston. That passes for humour chez Guillotine but she searched for her name on Twitter and took umbrage.
