Good morning. I have started the week with a rant about getting old before my time here

This weekly series of threads has been great for my blog. Great for hits, great for feedback and great networking and discovery of other blogs. So don't just post and run, try and take a moment to look through what we've all got to offer. There's so much variety and great writing on here.

Also, this week is the MN week for their Miscarriage Code of Care Campaign. MmeLindor has been co-ordinating the blogging side of this so will be able to remind us how we can get involved if we wish.

We got to go to the Skylanders Morning at Hamleys!

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 11/10/2011 18:18

Sorry is that sarcastic or serious?! Is swearing allowed? Very new to this and don't want to offend people!

Angel786 · 11/10/2011 21:10

Your blog your rules Tiaras - loved your post, have commented (original mama k)

daisymama · 11/10/2011 23:26

my latest post - all about our struggles getting respite so we can be proper parents and get a break occassionally

wish us luck!

travelswithbear · 12/10/2011 09:08

quick wave with my new blogger name.
tiaras - I like swearing. Carry on Grin

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 12/10/2011 09:14

Grin I wasn't sure if I had fucked up made a mistake with the swearing due to the amount of threads recently moaning about it. But fuck it oh well, sometimes you need a good swear!

PetiteRaleuse · 12/10/2011 09:56

Nothing wrong with some swearwords. Have used a couple in today's post about those poor lottery winners being stupid enough to go public and then have the bitter ex crawl out of the woodwork the wanker. Here.

Random rambling about my new parenting policy glittersequinsandsparkles.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-parenting-policy.html
More so I feel I have some control than for anything else!

I'd go public purely to rub it in my ex's face if I won the lottery!

MmeLindor. · 12/10/2011 10:35

New post about Downloading from US iTunes and watching Glee.

With thanks to MmeG's DP, who told me how to do it a while ago.

Have some stuff to do then will catch up on the new blog posts.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/10/2011 11:25

Yeah but then Tiaras he'd retaliate with some bullshit about you. And you'd come across as a rich bitch if you tried to do anything other than turn the other cheek.

You could however maintain your anonymity but tell him. The press still wouldn't be able to print your name so he wouldn't be able to say anything in public. That's what I intend to do when it is my turn.

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 12/10/2011 11:33

Genius! You'd think it would be my turn to win soon though. I've already spent the money in my head several times over!

PetiteRaleuse · 12/10/2011 11:57

Me too. I have to go back to work in January after my maternity leave and every day I hope for a lottery win so I can stay at home and do what I do best. Sleep.

Me too! I've just started a new blog, and am open to any and all comments and feedback...

Blogging the Tiredness

MmeGuillotine · 12/10/2011 14:45

I'm working on a post about Upstairs, Downstairs at the moment but in the meantime have posted to let people know that my first book about Marie Antoinette isn't just available for Kindle now and also to have a little kick of my heels at how many I have sold despite doom laden predictions about the average sales for most self published books!

Okay, I'm not quite in Rowling territory yet but I'm still pretty pleased! :)

PetiteRaleuse · 12/10/2011 14:49

Paul Dacre (in charge of the Mail) have a speech to the Levesdon inquiry into the behaviour of the press this morning. Here is my take on it. His speech is well worth reading by the way if you're interested in press freedom etc.

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 12/10/2011 15:01

Ooh mmegulliotine (sp on phone!) I'm starting my book on Amy Dudley. Is self publishing difficult?

MummyBarrow · 12/10/2011 15:02

except I spelt the damn thing wrong and have now changed it!! COrrect link is here

travelswithbear · 12/10/2011 15:30

mme G, am about to go buy your book (unless DD wakes up from her nap). I love my kindle, despite being a big, huge, fan of paper books.
In my real life (as in when not on maternity leave), I'm a freelance book editor, so if anyone wants any info, give me a shout (I only work on non-fiction titles though...).

TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 12/10/2011 16:12

I'm attempting a non fiction history book if you fancy that Grin it is purely an attempt as I've just started my degree and I'm overwhelmed as it is

PetiteRaleuse · 12/10/2011 16:35

That sounds great Tiaras there's not much about Amy Dudley out there the porr woman - all I know is how she ended up and what a horrible husband she had in general.

OP posts:
TiarasTimeOutsAndTantrums · 12/10/2011 16:42

Thats what I thought. There's a bit about her death and a few theories but I'm fascinated by how she lived and her life with that arsehole!

MmeGuillotine · 12/10/2011 16:44

Tiaras, there's not much info on Amy Dudley out there and with the current obsessing about the Tudors, it'd probably be very popular. :)

I've written a few blog posts about the self publishing process:

On publishing with print on demand company, Lulu.

On publishing for Kindle. There's another one here as well.

Thank you, Travels! :)
