Good morning. I have started the week with a rant about getting old before my time here

This weekly series of threads has been great for my blog. Great for hits, great for feedback and great networking and discovery of other blogs. So don't just post and run, try and take a moment to look through what we've all got to offer. There's so much variety and great writing on here.

Also, this week is the MN week for their Miscarriage Code of Care Campaign. MmeLindor has been co-ordinating the blogging side of this so will be able to remind us how we can get involved if we wish.

Purple/MmeG
I have vlogged a few off. This is what I know is that you are what you are so enjoy it and have some fun with it. I am an overweight, furry, saggy, baggy old cloth eared cat with wobbly teeth and chin hair but I am authentic - I eat food, I write my own stuff, my ideas are my own, etc - don't let fear stop you. Now if you don't want do it but that's a different matter. Also, try it and then watch it - then think next time I'll improve it this way and that way.

(note the voice is out of sync)

I just watched them and they do make my toes curl but it's all about learning isn't it.

My gothic and glam witch's Halloween decor Mme G, I think this is very you! Grin

MmeGuillotine · 10/10/2011 18:03

Thanks ModMilly, I don't really want to do them though. I don't think it would fit in with the overall look and feel of my blog and I'm just far too awkward to make them work. :)

Tom, I love it! :)

Tomisinathewitchescat · 10/10/2011 18:05

millymum, you sound really well in that! I could never do it

purplemom · 10/10/2011 19:15

Millymum you are most certainly not furry or saggy ! Thanks for sharing though. I guess I'm concerned that it will be harder to be witty or whatever on camera than it is in text (not that I'm terribly witty anyway).
I will be giving it a go though as I think it's a challenge and I'm always up for the rising to.

Amodmillymum · 10/10/2011 19:33

I would think about it first so that you roughly know what you are going to say. I think three minutes is good for the attention span. Say it out loud to yourself first before you turn the camera on. I have a mac so I did these in photobooth and then uploaded them onto youtube via i-movies.

Amodmillymum · 10/10/2011 19:36

ps: thanks for the niceness too ;)

Mme G - yes maybe but I think if you donned a big wig, some white face powder and a beauty spot could you be tempted??

purplemom · 10/10/2011 20:21

A first over on Purplemum. I've blogged twice in one day. I'm a bit nervous about this one, it's about my experiences with depression for world mental health day www.purplemum.com/2011/10/experiences-depression/

Here is my latest effort, in honour of world mental health day: Day to day life as a mental

SenseofEntitlement · 10/10/2011 23:48

Purple: I enjoyed (if that is the right word) your post - have commented :)

PetiteRaleuse · 11/10/2011 09:05

A rant about public services in the UK here. Why are things so complicated over there? Why is life so much simpler over here?

Apologies but I can't do clicky links on my phone!

Thanks ScatCat and MmeL for your comments last week that's really helpful. I agree I may have to change the background. I love David's site- he's a genius! His book is on my Xmas wish list! Will have a look at the other two sites too. Thanks for the advice (sorry for delay in replying too!) well done on the cooking course too!

I've been thinking about Georgette Heyer a lot since the weekend but couldn't muster up a better post about her than the one I wrote earlier this year.

I think it's amazing that she'd write her books in a matter of weeks then send the first draft off to her publisher who wouldn't even have it edited before sending it straight on to be printed. Incredible.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/10/2011 14:41

I still haven't read any Georgette Heyer - my parents had loads that I never even touched but I have a feeling that since my dad died my mum has got rid of pretty much all the books in the house, and since I haven't been back since I haven't been able to save any from the local second hand bookshop.

So looks like I'll have to go to the local second hand bookshop and buy them back when I go over in November. Grr.
