Who's first, me or Small? Grin

OMG Small - that Erin l'oreal or whatever her name is from spooks must have stress fractures in every one of her toes running in those shoes as she does!!ShockGrin

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 18/10/2011 22:35

Well by the time they discovered it was broken it was about two months after it first started hurting and was almost healed. My fracture was at the base of my toe into my foot bit. I thNk they can give air boots etc if it's broke , walking around on a stress fracture can break it properly. I was told to rest it, wear sensible shoes/trainers and ice it. I was also given loads of Tramadol!!

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 22:36

Maud - I have just found the coolest thing ever!

Design your own Converse! Grin

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 18/10/2011 22:38

*broken

ComeIntoTheSinisterGardenMaud · 18/10/2011 22:47

I'm really freaking now.

SupermenacingLBD · 18/10/2011 22:47

Spiro, I have just spent ages on there but have come to the sad conclusion I am a rubbish designer. I liked the personal ID bit the best. Grin

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 22:47

Have you not had it looked at at all Maud? As Small says broken toes/feet are really easy to miss. I know more than one person who have been hobbling for days or even weeks before they've realised what the problem was and by that stage couldn't remember how they'd done it!

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 22:49

I've done two - Menace (!). I could get seriously addicted.

SupermenacingLBD · 18/10/2011 22:55

I didn't see any camo options, Spiro. Grin

Mine ended up all pink! That I did not like.

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 22:56

Look who else likes Converse! Grin

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:01

Sorely tempted

ComeIntoTheSinisterGardenMaud · 18/10/2011 23:03

No, I haven't. The fact that it hasn't got any better today - it is now even more chipolata-like and in the words of the song, the drugs don't work - makes me think I have to get it looked at. So I face a choice between negotiating our GP's telephone booking system (essentially, you spend an hour calling, only to be told that all today's appointments have been filled so you are welcome to go through the same thing tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that and the day after that ...) or going to A&E with half a million other people.

::Necks Polish cordial::

I'm going to bed now. I'm too depressed. Good night all.

::Looks back, pathetically::

The 'sorely' ones are fab, Scaro!

SupermenacingLBD · 18/10/2011 23:07

That snort was directed at Mr Porter and his Converse, not poor Maud.

Isn't there a drop-in centre near you? I made good use of one, last time I was in the UK.

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:08

Mmm! Bit summery though and probably would not stay looking like that for long! Have put both pairs on my Amazon wishlist though!

Hope toe is better soon.

ComeIntoTheSinisterGardenMaud · 18/10/2011 23:11

::Looks back, ever more pathetically::

Not near me and the problem is that I have a big project at work to finish in the next couple of days and can't afford to take time off to sit around awaiting the ministrations of the NHS. Nor (of course) can I afford to be marching around on a broken toe, if that's what it is.

::Cries::

SupermenacingLBD · 18/10/2011 23:18

We really do need Doctor Alec now. He could check you out and medevac you back and forth from your Place of Gainful Employment.

And you'd be so busy checking out his endearing charms that you would quite forget the pain.

Knighty knight and hope it's better by morning.

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:19

How about out of hours GP? Ours are really good and it least you get a time instead of just waiting indefinitely in A & E.

LadyDamnearhell · 18/10/2011 23:21

Maud, I really think you need to get your toe looked at tomorrow. If nothing else, they can give you some really strong painkillers.

Cool Converse, Spiro, esp. Mr Porter's Grin. I can't wear them though, the downside of having size 7 feet is that Converse look like ginormous canoes Hmm. Which ones were you wearing at the summer meet-up?

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:24

These are the ones I have, Lady D. I'm a 6-7 - If you wear them with bootcut jeans the flare balances out the size of the shoe!

Am just watching a programme about children who stammer - is very moving.

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:25

I now want these too!

But found them on an image search so not sure if they're still available.

SupermenacingLBD · 18/10/2011 23:30

Love them all, Spiro. I have high insteps so the flatness of the sole inside is very uncomfortable for me. Sad

DumSpiroScaro · 18/10/2011 23:32

I'm not normally good with flat shoes but they're ok for some reason.

Must go to bed now - sweet dReAms all!

LadyDamnearhell · 18/10/2011 23:35

That might be a solution, Spiro. The last time I tried any on was when I was about 15 and I just looked stupid Hmm. Your pair are fab, I like them a lot.
