Will do, Twigster, though Gizzy as stress relief is a bit of an oxymoron. Confused

I can just imagine you in the giant French boozerama, yelling "Ou est le Mount Gisborne?" at them. and him popping round the end of the aisle and growling, "Not so fast. You have to beg, first, Lady Twigs"

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 17:37

It's at times like this, that you need a dose of Spiro. And Thanks and Wine

DumSpiroSpero · 30/09/2011 17:42

Thanks, Massive. I'll live - have just proved my point though that prioritising in the same way as my mum does absolutely does not work for me - even my colleagues have commented on me being out of sorts. Perhaps the well intentioned nagging will stop now.

You have probably got a lot more to do than your mum, too. A woman's work is never done, anyway, especially when you have small DCs.

Russianpony · 30/09/2011 17:53

Spiro - I'm so with you. Yesterday I really made sure that everything was done before I had any me time and I was stressed, pissed off and just incredibly grumpy by children's bedtime!!

Now I come first!!Grin

Ah children - always wanting you. BBL!

Russianpony · 30/09/2011 17:58

Sorry bit of an interlude to deal with a peachy colt bottom. Much prefer someone else's one now!

But while looking for a buttie picture, I found this. Is this pin-stripped leather?? Not come across it before???

Right bath and bedtime for kiddies - may be back later, Colonel depending!

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 18:07

Big ((cuddles)) for Spiro. I can relate to that so much. I find I function best if I set myself say, a couple of hours doing 'chores' then do something I like, whether that's here, fanfics, YT or ironing to Gizzy (if I'm feeling a bit virtuous) for the rest of the day half an hour.

Goodness knows how I'm going to manage when I have to go back to proper work.

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 18:17

Never mind the pin striped leather, RP, just look at the little arc of skin revealed by that pose Grin.

Quick Gizzy costume crash course:

Season One is yellow rag round the throat and pinstripes.

Season 2 is bare throat and leather trews.

Season 3 is what RA refers to as the american footballer look.

There is also a variety of Ye Gappe black t'shirts that he wears underneath but we'll uncover those in another seminar!

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 18:21

You get breaks at 'proper work' though, don't you? And you start at a fixed time and clock off at another, and then it's done..

Pardon me whle i gnash my teeth at the thought that we are not allowed to think of one of the most important jobs there is as 'proper work' Angry

Russianpony · 30/09/2011 18:22

Oh dot you worry lady d I certainly noticed that little arc of anticipation of why lies beneath!!Grin

Twig - sounds fab day out!! Send some chateau giz this way!!Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 18:31

LadyD I hope that didn't read as a criticism of you, I didn't mean that at all. I was just feeling a bit peeved at the status quo.

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 18:31

I've been helping out a lot at the MiniDs educational establishment over the last fortnight but according to LordD it doesn't count as working because 'it's not paid' Shock.

Never mind the fact that the washing is up to date, the house is fairly tidy and clean 99% of the time, his dinner is usually burnt on the table/keeping warm in the oven when he gets home, the MiniDs have read/done homework/phonics etc, etc, etc. No salary = no value Hmm.

If he wasn't quite nice the rest of the time I'd have unleashed some Gizzy fury on his arse Grin.

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 18:35

Oh it didn't, Massive. I am totally with you on that one. I meant 'proper' more in the context of the restriction of having to be in a certain place, at a certain time and doing certain things during that time. The thing I like best about SAHMing is the flexibility to do everything in my own time, at my own speed.

DumSpiroSpero · 30/09/2011 18:53

Here, here! I like my job, but those aspects of work drive me loca!

Spiro, Thanks for you. Sounds a horrible week :( Can you do what I do, which is to say "yes, I'll do that" but then just go and do it my way instead, or would she notice that you're not actually doing it her way?

Massive, I read your "you have to beg" scenario and literally had goosepimples all over my neck! Oh but I'm so not going to be able to concentrate on choosing wine now - will be peering around the end of the aisle all the time instead :o

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 20:08

Have you got your snappy come-back answer ready for him, Twigster?

"It will be my pleasure, Sir Guy, "And hopefully, yours."

Why don't we have a [smirk] emoticon.? We so need one.

Russianpony · 30/09/2011 20:12

LOL at the smirk emoticon!!!! GrinGrin

You ask mumsnet towers for it Massive!!! Grin

Ooh twigs - just imagine!!! Wibble!!! Make sure you don't drop the bottle as that would be embarrassing!! not that turning into a wibbly speechless adolescent wouldn't be?!Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 30/09/2011 21:08

"And hopefully, yours."

ROFLMBO!!!!!!! :o :o :o I think I will go with "No - you beg" :)

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 21:16

Oh yes, a Gizzy-esque smirk emoticon would be perfect. Maybe MNHQ will do it for us as a birthday present?

Find a good pic of him smirking and I'll beg ask.

PassTheTwiglets · 30/09/2011 21:44

Right, I am off to bed - 5am start here this morning so am flagging a bit. Have a good weekend, everyone!!

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 21:49

Night night, Twigs. Hope you have a wonderful outing.

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 21:59

N'night Twigs, enjoy your trip Smile.

Anyone still sober awake?

LadyDamerel · 30/09/2011 22:54

I am, but I'm making a sugarpaste horse. I'll be done in about 5 minutes....

SupermassiveLBD · 30/09/2011 22:59

No prizes for guessing its name.

Hi Maudie, what news? and why are you staggering, yet again
