Look at his FB profile pic from my page, LadyD - that is his natural reaction to being outside :o

SupermassiveLBD · 05/10/2011 21:59

Heaven help Bloke, then, at the weekends

Golly actressing is such a hard job, at times, isn't it? The things you have to put up with, in order to earn a crust.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/10/2011 22:02

Oh, I don't know Massive - you should see the crappy dubious effort that 'Danni' is in at the moment Hmm

OP posts:
LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 22:02

Grin. Bless him.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/10/2011 22:08

Poor 'Danni' Well I suppose you win some, you lose some. Smile

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:08

Ha at Dr Twigs a la plage. But change is possible, Twiggy. The Bloke always used to wear proper shoes (Oxfords for work and Timberland deck shoes at weekends) and was aghast at the idea of sandals. But now he spends from May to October every year channeling Baden Powell in his shorts and sandals.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:09

Oh, and worse. He used to wear ::sobs:: trainers.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/10/2011 22:10

Ah, but does he insist on wearing socks with his sandals, Maud?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:13

Absolutely not, Massive. Nor does he commit the fashion crime of wearing dark 'office' socks with his deck shoes. I have been ruthless in curbing the worst of his crimes against fashion.

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 22:18

The colonel wouldn't dream of going out in trainers unless it was to a sporting activity in face he wouldn't dream of going out of the door unless everything was ironed to perfection! I'm so scruffy compared with him I think he despairs of me!!Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 05/10/2011 22:20

Hahaha Maud, that brings back happy memories of buying him some sandals last year for the first time. He was horrified. Tbh, I hate sandals on men anyway but it's not fair that men should put up with hot sweaty feet just because of another one of my little foibles.

He is so tense at the beach it's hilarious. My personal favourite was "don't put sand in that bucket, you'll get it dirty" :o

Right, me and my Shiraz are off to bed. Night all!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/10/2011 22:22

Grin @ the bucket, Twigs. Sweet dReAms.

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 22:23

I think I love DrTwigs. 'Don't put sand in the bucket' - hahahahaha. We must never ever, ever go to the beach together. The MiniDs were collecting up dead jellyfish in their buckets last time and throwing them at each other Hmm.

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 22:23

Oops, forgot to say Bitey Knight.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 22:24

Ah I am laughing out loud at these tales, especially channelling Baden Powell and don't put sand in that bucket, you'll get it dirty

MrB isn't too bad I suppose clothes wise although he's a bit preppy at the weekends. Super smart for the office but I often have to remind him that possibly a 'casualish' shirt perhaps isn't ideal/necessary for taking ds to the park plus I have to iron it and maybe a T-shirt would suffice.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 22:26

Right ladies - na night x

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 22:28

The origins of Bitey Knight for those unfamiliar with the term.

::deliberately not saying a word about LordD's lack of fashion sense::

SupermassiveLBD · 05/10/2011 22:31

Goodnight, Biscuits.

At least DrTwigs doesn't resort to a knotted hankie on his head on the beach and my granddad actually used to do this Blush

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 22:33

Night all!!

LOL at the bucket!!!Grin

The colonel wears Leather flip flops in the summer I find them much more appealing than actual sandals on a man >

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 22:34

Night, Biscuits.

Is 'Granddad' code for MrM, Massive? Does he favour a kerchief at a jaunty angle when the Island heats up?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:37

The Bloke is quite preppy at weekends but then I like that especially when I see friends' husbands who are more than old enough to know better clad in skater boy t-shirts and jeans with their pants on show.

Twiggy is quite right about the aesthetic shortcomings of the average male foot, but needs must when it's warm, I think. And I realise (not for the first time) that we have been at cross-purposes. All those of you who are boasting of Harryish husbands mean Mr Kennedy, don't you? I was thinking of Sir Harry Pearce.

Decent British tailoring

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:38

The Colonel sounds like quite a guy.

::Goes to look on RP's profile for a piccy::

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 22:38

MrBiscuits sounds like the colonel - open-necked shirts with sleeves rolled up is pretty much every "day off" uniform! But I suppose does remind me of our TDHBECMO!Smile

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 22:41

No piccy on there! Too terrified that someone will recognise him!!! and you'll finally realise that I really am Mrs RA! Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 22:41

As it happens, LadyDamerel, Massive has sent me a snap of MrM on the beach.
