LordD doesn't have the 'no storage' excuse though, Spiro. He has a chest of drawers which is largely empty because he doesn't put away the clothes I wash, dry, iron and fold. He also doesn't seem to understand the concept of a bin, bookcase (of which we have 3 upstairs) or laundry basket, hence The Pile.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 19:18

Just had email confirmation that Mr Armitage has been dispatched to me (well, at least a North and South DVD version of him has)

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 19:19

LOLOLOL @ Armitage Husbands.

If only ::wistful::

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 19:21

Oh my, justy imagine if you could do it and all live in the same place so you were literally surounded all day by RAs....

Right, better stop planning dreaming and put DS to bed

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 19:21

Oh well done, Biscuits. That is excellent commitment to your studies. I am currently resisting the urge to purchase The Siege, mainly because of which is enhanced by visuals but is also most amusing without.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 19:21

scuse typos - was talking to ds at the same time as typing - good job he can't read yet Blush

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 19:22

I'm liking Armitage Husbands!!! Grin

I should really not complain about dear Old Colonel as he does pretty well on most fronts just wish he actually looked and sounded exactly like PSM Grin

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 19:24

And you could have different days of the week for them to be Guy/Lucas/JP/MrT/JohnS/Claude/Alec

::faints dead away at the thought of being surrounded by hundreds of Gizzys all stomping about in black leather::

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 19:26

PMSL Lady D!! That sounds hilarious!!!Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 05/10/2011 19:27

I think it might be time to dust off Santa's New Toy...

Spiro that reminds me, it's obviously not too early to start mentioning presents as my local John Lewis has all the decorations out in full display i noticed today!!Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 20:02

I do have to say though, it made me wonder 2 things:

  1. How do people seriously have the time to make this sort of stuff? (although i am very grateful for their efforts!)
  1. What was with his hair at 1:47? I do hope that was for a role? Although he made up for it in the rest of the video. How can one man be so darn appealing!

Thank you anyway RP - that has made my evening and it is also my very favorite Christmas song too - I'm such a saddo!

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:13

I often wonder 1) as well. Especially when it comes to the very clever ones like the Mack the Knife I posted earlier where the lyrics and the music and the visuals correlate perfectly. One would have to know the DVDs inside out and spend hours C&Ping them I would imagine.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 20:14

The conviction on the crazy fan sites that he is their ideal man stems from them creating the idea of who he is in their heads so of course he fits the bill.

That's why I find some of the stuff on the confessions site incredibly sad.

As previously mentioned, I may have had one of two other tendres before eventually deigning to brighten The Bloke's life. He says I rescued him from a lifetime to be spent on the shelf.

I'm glad the consensus is that having a ridiculous infatuation deep and meaningful relationship with a fictional character is less bonkers than having such a relationship with a real person. And I certainly think that the reason Mr Thornton reaches the parts that other characters can't reach is that he is more knowable, because he is (thanks to Mrs Gaskell) very much better-drawn than some of the rather flimsy characters that only exist as tv scripts which in the case of late Spooks seem to have been written by people with attention deficit issues.

And, wow, what a lot of resources have been peer-reviewed today.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 20:14

Well I am grateful that there are such people dedicated on this particular subject matter.

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:15

Oh and 2) is his Gizzy hair. Harry Kennedy also has Gizzy's hair as VoD was filmed at the same time as RH.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 20:16

Ah yes, I suppose he had to do something with it the rest of the time...

OK I'll let him off

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 20:17

I will have to watch it again now though, just to be sure

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:18

And, wow, what a lot of resources have been peer-reviewed today.

I like it when new students enrol, Maud, because lots of old favourites are brought out and there are often several that are new to me.

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:20

Biscuits, there is an interview in the Bibliotheque that he did in the midst of S3 Gizzy where his hair looks dreadful. It's obviously very long but tied up and gelled back. It's horrid.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/10/2011 20:21

Never mind Christmas, it's almost Halloween, .

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:31

I love that Halloween vid. Vampires don't usually do it for me but that one has a certain je ne sais quoi. I'd willing let him bite my neck Grin.

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 20:39

Biscuits - handy tip for surviving academy lectures unscathed! Don't study while you're cooking!!

Burnt my rice ladies!!!Grin

Russianpony · 05/10/2011 20:42

Or in fact forget you'd thrown the dog out into the pouring rain!!! 20 mins later and he almost knocked the kitchen door down!![oops] Grin

LadyDamerel · 05/10/2011 20:45

Burned food is par for the course in this place. I peeled my finger the other day because I was ogling Gizzy while prepping dinner.

Audiobooks are the solution, I tell you.
