A shame there is no Mr Thornton and Lady Gaga collaboration. That striding about he does would lend itself to the rhythm very well.

Maybe is better silent, but the visuals are okay.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/10/2011 22:47

Oh my. That was so wibblesome. All the key moments. I must ask her, the refused handshake, the riot, the handshake, Plato, looking back.

::collapses::

Now, in Mr. Thornton's face the straight brows fell low over the clear, deep-set earnest eyes, which, without being unpleasantly sharp, seemed intent enough to penetrate into the very heart and core of what he was looking at. The lines in the face were few but firm, as if they were carved in marble, and lay principally about the lips, which were slightly compressed over a set of teeth so faultless and beautiful as to give the effect of sudden sunlight when the rare bright smile, coming in an instant and shining out of the eyes, changed the whole look from the severe and resolved expression of a man ready to do and dare everything, to the keen honest enjoyment of the moment, which is seldom shown so fearlessly and instantaneously except by children. Margaret liked this smile; it was the first thing she had admired in this new friend of her father's; and the opposition of character, shown in all these details of appearance she had just been noticing, seemed to explain the attraction they evidently felt towards each other.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/10/2011 22:55

All that refinement for you - though I thought you might appreciate the opening shots of the cravat-free throat.

And then just a shed-load of raunch and leather for me. Sigh. What does that say about my place in the universe, I wonder? Blush

Mrs Hale would not have me round to her house for a dainty tea, that's for sure.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/10/2011 22:59

I am sure she would, Massive, just as I am sure you can behave with decorum when the occasion demands -as opposed to behaving like a strumpet when Guy begs-.

DumSpiroSpero · 03/10/2011 22:59

Evening! Just popping in to say how much I enjoyed your 'self-indulgent' vid, Maud
especially the Gisborne Footwell moment at 0.48

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/10/2011 23:07

It's Massive you have to thank for that, Spiro!

::Fires up the defibrillator::

SupermassiveLBD · 03/10/2011 23:09

Thanks for , Spiro. Now i'll never get to sleep.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/10/2011 23:10

Sorry, I forgot the Grin on the end of that.

LadyDamerel · 03/10/2011 23:18

I'll borrow that defibrillator, Maud.

How have I missed Thing of Beauty up until now? It truly does live up to its name.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/10/2011 23:23

Nice, isn't it, LadyD?

LadyDamerel · 03/10/2011 23:41

Much more relaxing than most Gizzy vids too. A perfect lullaby in fact, so I'm off to bed. Bitey Knight Smile.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/10/2011 23:43

Hopefully Maud has now lasted out until Spooks time. As everyone else seems out, I had better see to Uzi, and then close up.

Bitey knighty, all, and sweet dReAms.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/10/2011 00:13

::Staggers in::

Well, that was certainly Spooky.

.

Good night all.

Russianpony · 04/10/2011 09:44

How did I miss Robin Hood when it was on the TV???? I think I was put off the PWLF or whatever his name is!!!Grin And I hadn't noticed Our Man by that point I know I must have been blind!Shock

Fab videos from last night ladies - some great music - do like a bit of Pet Shop Boys!!! But I've now wasted 25 mins on here, when I should be doing my admin!! Naughty naughty me!!! where's Guy when you're being bad?!

Good days all!
Smile

PassTheTwiglets · 04/10/2011 09:50

Morning all.

I quite agree about children not being played with all the time - the trouble is that I sometimes find myself doing nothing with him all day Blush Because of things to do around the house as well, not just because of MN. MissTwigs was very bad at playing by herself when she was younger and as TwigBoy is quite good at it I tend to let him, as I never had that before and, as LadyD said, it can be too easy to leave them alone too much. When I think of all the things I used to do with MissTwigs I feel bad that I haven't done as much with him and feel like he should have the same. But I find that I've run out of energy/enthusiasm now and feel a bit like I've been there, done that with the whole arts & crafts & playing shops thing. I mainly do Parenting By CBeebies at the moment Blush

Russianpony · 04/10/2011 10:06

Me too Twigs!! DS is snuggled up on the sofa as we speak!! But then he is a bit poorly today and so he didn't want to go to his swimming lesson or out shopping, so I'm taking advantage and attempting getting some admin done that's been keeping me awake at night!!Smile

TheSmallPrint · 04/10/2011 11:28

¡Buenos días! ¿Te perdiste me? He vuelto de España hermosa.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/10/2011 11:36

Welcome back, Senorita Small!! Did you have a great time?

¡Buenos días! ¿Te perdiste me? He vuelto de España hermosa.

How DARE you?! I have never been so insulted in my life!!

Sorry DS is a bit poorly, RP. Mine said he was too (and the rest of us have been) so I didn't take him to nursery but he seems fine. Have decided to have a project day to appease my guilt - sadly though he chose spiders :) We're going out to take pictures of spiders webs and then will draw them, then play a spider game, read a spider story etc. I tried to get him to choose Soldiers or Cotton Mill Owners as the day's project but no, it has to be spiders, apparently :)

TheSmallPrint · 04/10/2011 11:41

Yes thanks Twigs, it was scorchio but I understand it was just as scorchio here so I might as well have stayed in the UK except I had a beach and no children with me and a never ending supply of tapas and sangria

Sorry that everyone seems ill Sad, hope all are well soon.

I am trying to find a spare minute to catch up with Spooks and Dr Who so I am not looking on SPooks threads at the moment.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/10/2011 12:10

Twigs, fill a plant mister with water and send him out in garden spider hunting - should give you a few minutes break to ogle YouTube put your feet up!

Small, will be interested to know what you think of Dimitri in this episode. He's still Panda Cola to Lucas' Coca Cola but there was a definite improvement, shall we say :)

So glad you had a great time - sounds lovely! Apart from the scorchio bit :)

SupermassiveLBD · 04/10/2011 12:20

Hello all. I wondered if there was a Gizzy vid with that Pet Shop boys song, and clever Maud found it. Am I being picky when i say there were far better visuals that could have been chosen? Fun, though, and the opening quote was rather thudtastic.

Ah, Sir Guy of Gisborne, the face of an angel and a body made for sin... Grin

Welcome back from Spain, Small. Glad you had a lovely relaxing child-free break. We missed you though.

Hmm, spiders... maybe you could give Twigboy the Spiderman movies to watch while you sneakily MN, Twigs

There was a Mumsnetter who swallowed a spider
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her...

SupermassiveLBD · 04/10/2011 12:23

ROFL @ Panda Cola/ Coca Cola

Russianpony · 04/10/2011 12:29

Spider project day!! Wow you should be a childminder with ideas like that!! ;-)

I've not heard of panda cola? I'm assuming it's not as good as the ReAl thing!Grin

But ah yes dimitri.....he'll do on a cold winter night I suppose....!Wink

SupermassiveLBD · 04/10/2011 12:33

I expect it's something like the Virgin Cola they used to force you to drink when they had you captive on one of their trains.
