::eating leftover birthday cake, yum yum::

PassTheTwiglets · 22/09/2011 12:52

STOP. TALKING. ABOUT. CAKE.

(not from your birthday, Maud, surely? How do you leave cake that long?!)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/09/2011 13:16

No, not my birthday.

::yum yum, gobble gobble::

This is why I will never again be a size zero.

PassTheTwiglets · 22/09/2011 13:26

I don't even think I was a size zero when I was born...

Hello, ladies. I have officially joined the dark side. I had the house to myself and had planned to take the opportunity to get a clear run at all the chores that have been piling up, but instead, I have been watching DVDs all day. Fantastic episode, that one, that has Gizzy tied to a tree and to a bed in the same segment. It cropped up in RP's Doggy vid, just to remind me I wasn't dreaming.

He was so sweet with Meg, and so beautiful. (Which episode was that, I wonder?Ii have lost count Blush )

I even watched the extras. As Spiro notices, it's so different when he's not in character, even when he's in costume. None of the dark intense fire, just a nice unassuming chap. Jonas, on the other hand, is no different, in or out of character. Maybe that's because Robin is not so forceful a character, to be fair.

LOL @ the little vistor btw. Santa's New Toy must be seriously on the blink, there.

Twigs, I am so sorry that your outing was cancelled. It's so not fair when you have been looking forward to something so much Sad

I'm out on Saturday!

DumSpiroSpero · 22/09/2011 15:12

Aw Small...we'll miss you! Going anywhere nice?

TheSmallPrint · 22/09/2011 15:17

Not really, no Sad

SupermassiveLBD · 22/09/2011 15:22

Well, I am not going out any night, any time Sad

I wish you were off to somewhere fabulous, Small.

TheSmallPrint · 22/09/2011 15:26

one day, Massive, one day. Maybe when HJ does his show.

SupermassiveLBD · 22/09/2011 15:28

Oh, I do hope so, Smallio!

PassTheTwiglets · 22/09/2011 15:43

Ooooh, loving that consolation prize, thank you :) How are you feeling today, Massive?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 22/09/2011 15:48

Still pretty lousy tbh,Twigs - hence the lazy day. I have not done a thing and will be ordering take-away for tea.

Russianpony · 22/09/2011 17:19

I'm back and survived Legoland!!! Jolly good value £15 for adult and preschooler during term-time if any of you have a preschooler and live near enough for a day trip! I'm shattered now! Have to admit that there were even seconds when my mind wasn't wondering about a certain man and his eyes!Smile

Spiro - [grin]@your little visitor. What did your colleagues say???

How I love that consolation prize?? Have I said that I just love his eyes! Definitely what does it for me!!

Yes, Yes RA as Mr Rochester would be just perfect!! But then I'm pretty sure he could turn his hand to any role and still be amazingly attractive (although I'm still reserving judgement on the Thorin look? A Lucas Thornton cross would be my ideal? [reverie]

Anyway, Small -hope you do get out soon and that your Mum isn't too ill! Have to admit to hardly ever getting out to the cinema (or really anywhere for that matter!). Practically no family in the UK to ask and it gets so expensive to pay for a sitter to go to the cinema. the colonel and I wait until it's on Sky Box Office - dull that we are!!!Grin. Did go to the most fantastic 1920's ball a couple of weeks ago though so can't really complain - lots of men in white tie and tail coats!!Grin

Right - RL calls again - 2 hour gym class for DD! Hope DS stays awake and isn't too grumpy!!

Hopefully back later for some me time!!Smile

TheSmallPrint · 22/09/2011 17:29

Massive sorry your still feeling rubbish, a take away sounds good though!

i was thinking about Legoland this weekend actually RP, we have annual passes so I don't feel so bad about popping in for a couple of hours instead of a whole day. the 1920s ball sounds fab!

What makes you think my mum is ill btw? Confused

PassTheTwiglets · 22/09/2011 17:31

Oh I would loooooooove to go to a ball! What did you wear?! My dream is to go to a masked ball in Venice. Fat chance though. Glad Legoland was ok! It's when I'm bored that my mind starts to wander. I had a very fun morning once, at toddler gym, imagining what one could up to on the various bits of equipment :o

Massive, sounds like a DVD day is just what the doctor ordered.

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

PassTheTwiglets · 22/09/2011 17:32

Small, RP was muddling us up - I said earlier about my mum being ill so not being able to go out tonight.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 22/09/2011 17:40

Ah of course!

SupermassiveLBD · 22/09/2011 17:43

I've been to a masked ball once, but it wasn't in Venice, it was in Birmingham.

Russianpony · 22/09/2011 17:48

Sorry RA fried muddled brain!!!Grin

LadyDamerel · 22/09/2011 17:52

::wafts away eau de burnt garlic::

I really must stop catching up in here whilst trying to cook dinner. I ought to know by now that my ability to multi task deserts me as soon as I get visuals on a certain Man.

Spiro, loving the little visitor, does he have pride of place on your desk, next to your mug?

Before I forget, I'm not about on Friday OR Saturday. 3 of my friends from the village had turned 40 in the last month or two so we are off to a spa hotel tomorrow night followed by a big party on Saturday night. I will be requesting several Academy favourites from the DJ in honour of the Academy anniversary party.

Massive, that sounds like a perfect day. I half watched 2.11, 2.12 and 2.13 while caking this morning. 2.11 is just wibbly when he discovers who the Nightwatchman is and then allows 'him' to escape. I went all teary when he says "Stay and make this place bearable". HOW can she still reject him after that?

::resolutely ignores Maud's voice saying 'because he's still a leather clad homicidal maniac'::

SupermassiveLBD · 22/09/2011 18:00

Ah, LadyD. Marian is just in love with the idea she's in love with her childhood sweetheart. I am sure she has feelings for Guy but they scare her so she represses them.

Did you get the cupcakes done?

My day would have been a perfect, if i hadn't kept coughing my heart up. Sad

LadyDamerel · 22/09/2011 18:44

Poor you, Massive. Are you taking any hefty drugs or just letting it run its course?

Did you watch the interviews with the Man talking about how he sees Guy's love for Marion as obsessive because he's had so little affection in his life that any crumb he receives he grabs and holds on to? Despite the fact I want to rip all his leather off and do rood things with him, my maternal side quite often wants to just gather him up for a big cuddle.

Russianpony · 22/09/2011 19:00

1920's ball was fab! I wore a long black chiffon/silk beaded dress, that I already had! With a silver grey, fringed silk shawl that used to belong to my grandmother in the 1930's (close enough for me!!). A cigarette holder (with real cigarettes - we apparently went through about 18 cigarettes between 3 of us non-smokers as we kept breaking them! no idea whose they were, but we were very drunk and obviously pretty clumsy!Grin), and lots of pearls, with a headband and obligatory feather in my hair!! Looked rather scrummy if I say so myself - certainly didn't lack any attention shall we say!Smile

But, I've never ever been that drunk in my life before and never wish to be that way again!!! Took ages to sit down to eat and champagne cocktails were freely flowing, so I must have had the best part of a bottle of champagne on an empty stomach before even starting on the table wine! For the first time ever I can't remember parts of the evening and I know I embarrassed myself and my darling colonel a weeny teeny bit!! But I think it was fun!Grin. But I shall certainly be maintaining a bit more decorum at the next ball I'm at!!Grin Much more suited to my companion at the time!

xxxSmile
