Yes, he's very sweet. I was quite smitten with him as Angel Clare, until it occurred to me how badly Angel lets Tess down. How about this one, Twiggy?

I too am an object lesson in plate tectonics and the inexorability of gravity, although I was beyond delighted when two people recently underestimated my age by a decade.

::Had threatened to kidnap their guide dog emoticon::

Russianpony · 25/09/2011 17:56

He can read me bedtime stories anytime......!

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 17:58

that arrogant thought running through his head when he's really got his mojo working

The big 'I am', like Meg says. I'll have some of that.

DumSpiroSpero · 25/09/2011 18:02

It's not so much the plates that are my problem as the copious amounts of blancmange on top Sad.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 18:03

Ooh, where did all these posts come from? They weren't there a second ago.

Glad to see that Flat Stanley is getting a mention, after my unsuccessful attempt to get Twiggy to buy it for/show it to TwigBoy a little while ago.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 18:06

Yeah, Spiro, but they say one can either keep one's figure or one's face, and the reason I supposedly look a decade younger than I am to very short-sighted people and those who are trying to ingratiate themselves is that I have a generous quantity of subcutaneous fat plumping out my wrinkles. (Someone told me the other day that if one has liposuction, one can now have the fat injected back into one's wrinkles, so I must be saving a fortune on that).

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 18:32

one can either keep one's figure or one's face

I seem to have ended up in some sad no man's land, where I have kept neither. But I reck not. In my mind, I am always the girl in the Barbie-pink bliaut.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 18:38

Hmm, it is a bit of a fraud, I agree, as I haven't kept my face either, as the cheekbones are now buried under a layer of lard. But, in my mind, I am still .

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 18:51

That was lovely Maud. One forgets, they didn't always wear the silverplatform boots did they? Oh,it is an absolute age since I went dancing. It would be more

PassTheTwiglets · 25/09/2011 18:53

Young Harry looks like Art Garfunkel (who, bizarrely, had an album called Angel Clare). I hated Tess (the book but even more so the character and I hated Angel - so I was never going to fancy him. I think Harry looks better now, tbh!

Not convinced I ever had cheek bones or figure but I'm working on it now!!! Spinning I tell you ladies - it's the way forward!! I had an 18 bottom in January and today got easily into a straight short size 14 skirt! Without major weight loss!! All in preparation just in case I happen to meet the Man himself and render myself unable to form an intelligible sound let alone word!--

PassTheTwiglets · 25/09/2011 19:00

Ooooh, was it just me who was disappointed in the quality of the YT bedtime stories vids? One of the comments under Spiro's recent offering said that there are much better ones on one of the fansites and there are - they're great quality, woohoo! I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning :)

Well done RP! That is amazing. Exercise doesn't like me, if I do anything that gets my heart rate up, it gives me a headache Sad

I lost quite bit of weight over the past year, but it has started to go back on again. Angry

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 19:06

Bedtime stories in the morning? That's a bit decadent, isn't it, Twiggy? Grin

Russianpony · 25/09/2011 19:07

I did think I'd seen better before Twigs back when we first started our in depth studies almost a year ago (still can't believe that we started all this a year ago and still find things to say!

Maud - I love ABBA!! What are your thoughts on Mamma Mia? I loved it, DH hated it, DD wants to go and see the stage version!!

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 19:09

Another huge Abba and Mamma Mia fan here, RP. Such a joy of a movie. That finale where Mr Darcy and co come on in their aqua satin flares! Grin

Russianpony · 25/09/2011 19:10

Massive - I hated exercise too, but I had a fab friend at my last posting who had the fab idea of our children doing a sponsored run for Children in Need, but it meant that I had to start running with DD too. I'd never run before and actually realised if you do it with the right people exercise can be fun and the feeling afterwards is amazing (and addictive). She then persuaded me to try spinning and I couldn't even stand up on the bike the first few sessions, but the amazing adrenaline rush afterwards really was addictive and now I feel it if I miss a session!

And talking of children in need [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sdp8dNa8EA !!]

RussianPony - I love Abba and all things Abba. I enjoyed the film - despite or possibly because of its corniness - but haven't seen it on stage. It was probably while you were on manoeuvres with the Colonel away that we had our little love-in with the other Mr Firth .

I loved your vid, Massive, which .

And, Twiggy, it was never a Lust thing with Angel Clare. I just thought he was rather marvellous until the scales fell from my eyes.

PassTheTwiglets · 25/09/2011 19:19

Wow, 18 to 14, that's brilliant! Very well done. Did you get an exercise buzz straight away? I keep waiting for the endorphins to kick in but I've never once got that high that people say they get after exercise - I just get a feeling of imminent death.

OP posts:
Russianpony · 25/09/2011 19:22

I'm not sure I'm convinced by the idea of having my bottom fat reinjected into my face Maud - however wrinkly I get!!! Hopefully I'll remain happy with my looks as I am now!!

Disclaimer: I'm currently on a double dose of happy tablets which are working very wellGrin.

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 19:24

What was with the beard??? Even you could not love that, Maud Confused

SupermassiveLBD · 25/09/2011 19:27

I m not being lazy about exercise, honestly. Not bein' funny, as young Alan always says, but i really do get a very bad headache if I get the slightest bit heated.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/09/2011 19:27

I just get a feeling of imminent death.

Yup, me too. When I go to the gym for a massage I can hear the personal trainer outside yelling at people - does that count as exercise?

RussianPony - No, I'm not recommending it either and besides I'm more than plump enough already and was very Hmm when my friend told me she had read about this.
