Victoria Beckham- accident waiting to happen?

daily mail- warning!

Ok, I love my high heels too...... but the very sight of VB carrying her tiny baby whilst tottering around in sky high platforms made me queasy and worried for the baby's safety.

VB can surely afford a super dooper-kitted out-custom designed-one of a kind buggy, no? Much safer for baby than being carried by a stick figure in ridiculously high heels! And the woman recently had a slipped disc! Urrrghh, her vanity/insecurity/attention-seeking is totally out of control!

Sorry, I do think it's treating her like a doll- an accessory for fashion week just like the towering boots. An added extra to get her pic plastered all over the media.

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 21:55

And I hardly think VB is bound by mat leave laws and regulations! She can do WTF she likes!

scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 21:57

because vb choses to dress not mumsy or like a frumpy housewife, its an accident waiting to happen?oh behave.what do you recommend tea stained joggers and a draged back ponytail and grubby converse

shes a brand and smart enough to know for her, image is everything and money in the bank

your posts are peppered with some comedic exaggeration
What I resent is when she is endangering her small baby all for the sake of staying in the press. What a joke she is you sound widdle bitty bitter

lol,bet vb is quaking in her laboutins on account of that

leftmydignityatthedoor · 11/09/2011 21:57

Don't know about the heels but that baby is so adorable.

Gleek · 11/09/2011 22:00

a) she is hiding Harper's face, hardly showing her off
b) does that go for every woman who takes a baby to work?
c) she's Victoria Beckham, I don't think she needs much help getting all over the media

Jesus, women really are their own worst enemy.

If David Beckham took Harper to a football training session everyone would be all "Oh, how cute, modern Dad, blah di fucking blah" but a woman DARES to wear heels and return to work for one day with baby in tow and she is slagged off.

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:02

Er, this is sleb twaddle not pedant's corner. Am entitled to comedic exaggeration, surely? No, not bitter actually. And no, I don't recommend tea stained joggers, etc. Just some commonsense and maybe a buggy or ditching the crazy high boots for the short period of time that she needs to carry baby.

OP posts:
adamschic · 11/09/2011 22:03

Those shoes are very easy to fall off. I had some sandals with a bit of a platform and actually fell off the platforms twice. I wouldn't carry a baby walking in them.

scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:05

vb is an astute buiness woman. and considerably more restrained and classy than some of the other made famous because a sex tape/dodgy show/z-list shaggers

cant think of any unbecoming or compromising gossip about vb
never hear of her drunk in london clubs, no drugs,no personal scandal. just tittle tattle about her and db. imo, shes a self contained composed woman, and great she takes the baby out and about.esp to work

bibbitybobbityhat · 11/09/2011 22:08

Yes, possibly true. Doesn't mean any of us have to like or admire her though. Or not pass comment on her hideous shoes. Jeezus at the fucking po-faced "women are their own enemies" comments on this thread. Are we only allowed to be critical of men now? Fuck that!

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:08

Gleek 'a) she is hiding Harper's face, hardly showing her off
b) does that go for every woman who takes a baby to work?
c) she's Victoria Beckham, I don't think she needs much help getting all over the media'

a) she's at NY fashion week, with a tiny baby in crazy high boots- yes she is showing off/attention-seeking full stop.
b) no that does not go for every woman who takes a baby to work. As I said, I'm all for looking your best and rarely look scruffy (really!) once you've had children (have 4 and still take pride in myself both inside and out)
c) Precisely! Victoria Beckham is a skilled media manipulator and works hard to ensure her monopoly and coverage stays consistently high.

me- a woman-hater? ha bloody ha Grin

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:12

im lovin you deciding what behaviour you stand by a woman for....
and rating wearing heels in a built up area as vertiginous heel too high, too far

do get a grip

look to the monstrosity that is kate price
drunk and incapable when pg
bizarre behaviours
lascivious lifestyle and publicity daft

actually my fave vb story, is that when kate price walked into players lounge at man u that vb sang who let the dogs out

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:17

Sorry, don't quite see your logic scottishmummy- KP is worse than VB, so we must all stick up for VB and worship ground she walks on? Because she doesn't drink while pregnant or fall out of clubs?

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:17

i heard vb posts on mn
i like her,and her heels and fact she is her derided in daily mail tells me she is doing something right

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:19

Just thought I'd add that given the choice I would first throw Peter Andre off a cliff, then KP. He gives me the creeps more than she does!

OP posts:
Gleek · 11/09/2011 22:19

No, we're not only allowed to be critical of men now but I do think it is a bit ridiculous slagging of a new mother for nothing more than her choice of footwear.

I guess it depends on your perception, to me, it looks a Mum going to work with her baby in her work clothes. The fact it is NYFW is irrelevant, that is her job!

And I'm pretty sure I read that she is breastfeeding... what is she supposed to do with the baby? Starve it whilst launching her collection?

scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:20

vb is ok dont get your disproportionate ire.she is never subject of any dodgy personal life stories unlike publicity daft z listers like kate price.never read any bad stuff about her or db as parents.dont get what your beef is

adamschic · 11/09/2011 22:21

I like her too, but just wanted to say that I can easily fall in platforms.

ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:22

vb posts on mumsnet?!? you heard this!??!?!?! And therefore have leapt to her rescue? Admirable < curtsies >. Ah well, hope VB is ready and pm's you with an offer of free louboutins or one of her hand bags Grin

OP posts:
ElfinNotSoElfin · 11/09/2011 22:23

Night all- you made me laugh on a shitty day anyway Grin

OP posts:
bibbitybobbityhat · 11/09/2011 22:24

Well if you were to look at my post properly you would see that I am not slagging off VB just for her choice of footwear.

Cheria · 11/09/2011 22:25

Wow I can't believe how much people interfere in someone they don't know's life. She's a grown woman and can do what she wants.

scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:29

dear god your way off mark.i expect if she posts its not as vb
and no i dont need her cast offs,i can flex my own cards thanks
but she look ok in that picture

but dm of course will be aghast any woman isnt wearing a mumsy dress and staying at home after birth.

coleen rooney got criticism for going out with pals in heels post birth.is a v insidious woman know your place mentality.if you're not sat at home being domestic mumsy and forgoing everything else to be a mammie=must be vain, slack or bad mum.

LeBOF · 11/09/2011 22:35

Sound the alarm- close Sleb Twaddle! Cheria has rendered it obsolete.

scottishmummy · 11/09/2011 22:41

we all opine on someone they don't know's life
thats the point of mn
the words on a screen and a wee neb about in someone else world.
fascinating
