Victoria Beckham- accident waiting to happen?

daily mail- warning!

Ok, I love my high heels too...... but the very sight of VB carrying her tiny baby whilst tottering around in sky high platforms made me queasy and worried for the baby's safety.

VB can surely afford a super dooper-kitted out-custom designed-one of a kind buggy, no? Much safer for baby than being carried by a stick figure in ridiculously high heels! And the woman recently had a slipped disc! Urrrghh, her vanity/insecurity/attention-seeking is totally out of control!

I like her but then I am vain and silly too

GetOrfMoiSamsungFridgeFreezer · 11/09/2011 22:50

Well she managed to totter around in vertiginous heels with her previous 3 babies and as far as I know she didn't drop any of 'em and Endanger Their Lives For Fashion.

I imagine she is walking about 20 feet, and not across cobbles.

She can walk in high heels, she lives in them.

Ridiculous lot of handwringing.

I tend to think of her as a bit of a twit, but I do admire her for the lack of pink on this baby so far.

GenevieveHawkings · 12/09/2011 08:29

"The long awaited precious baby girl seems to simple be another accessory to VB. Much like a chihuahua in a handbag."

Precisely, ElfinnotsoElfin. You've got Posh summed up in one with that comment.

We never saw her carting her third boy around like that did we...? Wink

GenevieveHawkings · 12/09/2011 08:30

"On the positive side, if she landed on baby, she does not weigh more than a kilo or two."

LOL!!! Grin

AtYourCervix · 12/09/2011 08:39

Slipped disk my arse.

However..... Nice baby.

ElasticNipples · 12/09/2011 08:43

Wow, some realie nasty comments here!, I bet she is a brilliant mum.
I wish I could be as polished but I just about get time to brush the teeth/hair.
Good for her.

Ifancyashandy · 12/09/2011 09:13

I would love to be able to wear heels that high! I would carry all your babies!

Also love the fact she is dressing Harper in muted colours - very Bonpoint! So lovely to see. Maybe she'll start the pink backlash!

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/09/2011 09:46

You do realise she's at NY fashion week because her line was showing - you know, its her job.

I like VB and like to see people holding their babies - is this also a mn no-no now.

For pretty much the first time ever I'm nodding in agreement with scottishmummy - most unsettling.

SummerRain · 12/09/2011 09:55

I'm no VB fan.... in fact I do generally jump at the chance to 'discuss' her attention seeking, fame hungry, bizarre behaviour.

But as I regularly wore high heeled boots while carrying the boys in their slings I think I may be disqualified from commenting on this one. I also wore them while pregnant as I found driving hurt my spd less if I had heels to rest my feet on so I could just move my feet on the pedals and not have to shift my whole leg constantly.

I do think it's nice that she clearly wants to have the close contact with her little bundle rather that strapping her into a buggy constantly, not sure why she doesn't get a sling though Confused Would it spoil her outfit?

BunnyWunny · 12/09/2011 10:14

Oh that baby is so cute though! If her job allows her to take her baby with her then good for her! As for the heels- that's up to her, but I bet there'd be more negative comments and attention if she was seen in comfy brogues or such like.

mrszimmerman · 12/09/2011 14:33

me too, I fear for that babby while it's mother is tottering around like a prize eejit, fine if you're only going to smash yourself up but a tiny baby?
Bit mental of her imo.

She's nearly as high up as Michael Jackson when he juggled his baby out of that balcony window lawks a mercy why can't she give the baby to one of her trainer wearing slaves I mean servants.
I think it's funny that the baby is lovely but normal looking.

Can't understand why she puts her in those odd outfits as well, that black and white thing looked all wrong on that tiny little pale poppet.
I mean I don't respect myself for posting here but what can you do?

ElfinNotSoElfin · 12/09/2011 15:22

'I mean I don't respect myself for posting here but what can you do?' Arf Arf Arf!!!!! I feel the same way

"I think it's funny that the baby is lovely but normal looking."

What did you expect her to look like?

scottishmummy · 12/09/2011 20:29

well both parents are attractive so likely their kids will be too
and as i said if vb getting a pasting in daily mail she is def doing something right

scottishmummy · 12/09/2011 20:38

ThatsNotMyBabyBelly · 12/09/2011 20:52

She isn't just in high heels though, she is high heeled platforms. Big difference with stability imo.

Although thinking about it have only ever worn high platforms when drinking, which would also possibly effect stability.

Baby is gorgeous!

scottishmummy · 12/09/2011 21:25

so are we to take from this,no platform heels.
no purposeful striding with your baby
expect vb to be derided for daring to not be a frump post birth
and down with that sort of thing all round

well you know what given i couldn't have gotten my oedematous ankles into those slinky boots post birth think she looks fab

and given she doesn't snort her body weight in colombian marching powder...
or make a plastic tited fool of herself...
or dissect every minutiae of her life across trashy mags...

i reckon vertiginous heels and baby is not such a big deal

mrszimmerman · 12/09/2011 22:58

LOL at handwringing scottish and Getorf and defending VB.
I don't think she needs defending.

Apparently she's delightful and bright and funny when you meet her, I've heard that from loads of people. But that aside, she actually looks kind of ridiculous in these heels is my honest opinion, why not put the child in a sling or something. It's virtually like walking about in stilts, those heels are just not appropriate imo for carrying a baby in.
These photos are all about the Beckham brand that is worth a squillion zillion pounds.

I secretly love the slebs who HIDE their dc. I think that is more dignified, just my opinion. I mean when my dc were that small I left them in their baby seats etc when I climbed step ladders!

I'd have the baby in her pram, I absolutely would not want all the photographers angling for a picture of her, and the subsequent images plastered throughout the media from here and ever after, but then that wouldn't be good publicity would it Victoria?!!!

Those shoes are ghastly, her ballet flats were far chicer! ...slipped disc, please don't insult out intelligenceWink

GenevieveHawkings · 13/09/2011 08:55

The baby is a dear little thing to look at.

However, she is being brought up by two of the biggest (if not the biggest)fame and publicity hungry, narsassistic egos on the planet. I hope that, in spite of this, she turns out to be as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.

GenevieveHawkings · 13/09/2011 09:02

1944girl VB could keep the baby with her all tucked up in a pram - with burly minders miked up with walkie talkies flanking her and all sorts if she was really paranoid about security.

No, it's all about her, her her. She wants to be photographed clutching her trophy baby girl. She wants the world to see her - and the baby. Just as she always does.

As I said before, you never saw her clutching her third son Cruz like that a few years back, did you? Wasn't she just as paranoid about him being abducted? Surely her profile was just as high when he was born as it is today and celebrity child abduction is not a new phenomenon.

Ifancyashandy · 13/09/2011 09:08

I don't care that she wants to be seen - haven't all stars since time immemorial? I accept she's not musically talented but she's taken (and worked hard for) her opportunities and made a seriously good living out of them. Good on her.

I want my stars / celebs to be arrogant, attention seeking and bonkers! It's what makes them fascinating!
