Victoria Beckham- accident waiting to happen?

daily mail- warning!

Ok, I love my high heels too...... but the very sight of VB carrying her tiny baby whilst tottering around in sky high platforms made me queasy and worried for the baby's safety.

VB can surely afford a super dooper-kitted out-custom designed-one of a kind buggy, no? Much safer for baby than being carried by a stick figure in ridiculously high heels! And the woman recently had a slipped disc! Urrrghh, her vanity/insecurity/attention-seeking is totally out of control!

Gawd, what an overreaction "Stop Press - Woman Wears Heels - Call Social Services"

Baby is in no more danger than if VB was wearing flats, anyone can slip trip or fall, no matter what they wear on their feet - My worst ever fall, that has resulted in permanent injury and likely long term diability came whilst wearing a pair of Hi-Tec flat soled rugged boots!

Oh and her back injury probably feels better when she is wearing shoes that she is used to wearing - her posture will have adjusted over the years, as will her foot shape, going straight into flats would probably cause her more pain.

I like the outfit Harper is wearing - I think it looks a damn site nicer and more comfortable than the shiney pink shite all baby girls seem to be in these days. I hated all the pink crap when DD was a baby - show some imagination people!

ElfinNotSoElfin · 13/09/2011 11:06

sorry couldn't resist some more!

Sorry, but taking an 8 week old baby shopping and still wearing those scary high platforms is just doing what she does best- media whoring. And now she has this season's must-have accessory- a precious, long-awaited baby girl! Ok, those of you who leapt to her defence and said what she was wearing is appropriate for her 'working at NY fashion week'- how can you justify her still wearing those platforms and clutching her baby on a shopping trip?

I just don't understand why it is necessary to carry the baby and risk tripping when she could easily use a buggy.

I have always worn heels (as I said, I am a short-arse) and am very used to wearing them, feel comfortable and confident walking or even sprinting when late......but I too have 4 children and would never, ever wear heels like VB's if I was carrying a baby. My babies were in buggies and if I was to walk anywhere with them, I would were more sensible footwear!

In my line of work, I've come across children with severe cerebral palsy who were born absolutely normal, but then suffered a severe brain injury- I've seen plenty of cases where an infant has been dropped or fallen by accident and this has cause irreparable damage. They cannot walk, talk, sit up.....it's heart-breaking. Babies are FRAGILE. They need to be protected. And no, I don't think it's nice that she is clutching her baby close to her, as in this instance, baby would be safer tucked up in a buggy. Those pics give me chills.

Flame me all you like.

I think the back injury is a bit Hmm tbh. She wasn't around and has re appeared looking remarkably svelte back pain as if!

TheMitfordsMaid · 13/09/2011 11:32

OP, you are starting to sound hysterical.

misdee · 13/09/2011 11:34

i tripped over carrying my only boy after 4 girls, last week.

i was wearing trainers.

noddyholder · 13/09/2011 11:35

I can do most things in heels tbh it depends how used to them you are. But tbh its no one's business what shoes she wears or how she transports her baby If she trips she will have to live with that as would anyone who tripped with a baby. I dropped ds when he was about 11 months old carrying him from bedroom to garden and I was in bare feet!

noddyholder · 13/09/2011 11:36

oh misdee how old is he now and how is peter?
Smile

misdee · 13/09/2011 11:36

maybe she is holding her dd to protect her from the paps?

stylenotfashion · 13/09/2011 11:36

Disc injury my arse - she had plastic surgery (tummy tuck or a mummy tuck as I understand it's known). Unlike with babies 1, 2 & 3 where she kept herself hidden whilst recouperating she was gagging to show off this one as it's a girl.

Abduction worries my arse. As said ^ she didn't flaunt baby boys 2 & 3 in such a manner. She's an attention seeking narcissist who bought a baby girl from the sex-choice Clinic and is showing it off.

Simple as that, really.

I feel sorry for boys 2 & 3 - the naturally concieves ones that were 'hatched and dispatched'.

Sorry for grumpiness - I hate VB (though I do enjoy bitching about her).

misdee · 13/09/2011 11:37

8months old. peter is ok, lots of little issues though, got a re-check this month after not quite right results last month [worried]

noddyholder · 13/09/2011 11:37

Me too a bit iffy atm it is a roller coaster Hope all goes well for him xx

nethunsreject · 13/09/2011 11:39

Cute baby!

FUck the DM. She looks great. AND she is carrying her little baby close to her. 10 AP points from me for that. Grin

If she'd carried the baby in a car seat, they'd have run a story about how car seats are bad for babies, etc. Likewise if someone else carried the baby, she'd be cruel and heartless.

misdee · 13/09/2011 11:40

think i'll send vb a sling :) the only reason ds wasnt hurt last week was becauise he was wrapped on my chest. i fell to protect him, he slept through the whole thing.

PootlePosyPerkin · 13/09/2011 11:43

Regarding VB carrying Harper rather than using a pushchair - I clearly remember one celeb (possibly Britney Spears I think but maybe someone else) saying that she had to carry her baby because on one occasion when she hadn't, photographers had literally swarmed around the pram, pushing her out of the way to get a photo of the new baby. This resulted in a very distressed baby with lots of cameras virtually in his face, all going off at the same time & a very upset mummy who couldn't get to her baby! Sad She did have security/bodyguards present but (from what I remember) they were so heavily outnumbered by the paparazzi that they weren't much help. If VB is choosing to carry Harper everywhere because she has fears that a similar thing might happen then I can totally understand that (although I do realise that it may be for other reasons).

As for the heels, I'm pretty sure that VB has said in interviews that her feet are so used to heels that they actually only hurt when she wears flats! Not that that makes it any safer for baby carrying mind you Hmm.

PootlePosyPerkin · 13/09/2011 11:48

And now she has this season's must-have accessory- a precious, long-awaited baby girl!

Yay! For the first time in my life I am fashionable Grin. I knew it would happen one day.
(mum to 5 week old baby girl and two much older boys)

TheCrackFox · 13/09/2011 11:51

I'm sure her baby will be fine, after all this is her 4th so she must know what she is doing.

However, did she fuck have a slipped disc. One of my good friends slipped one of her discs shortly after her 1st baby and 13 yrs later she has still never worn heels. VB probably stayed holed up so no paparazzi could get a photo of her being 4lb overweight.

I agree about their wanting a girl thing being slightly gross.
Weird for boys 2 and 3, they must feel a bit 'so what are we, chopped liver?"
Like Jamie Oliver's last girl before they had the 'longed for boy!'
It just seems to be a kind of commodification of offspring.

stylenotfashion · 13/09/2011 12:17

I agree mrsz, it's actually very sad. and now I hope Harper will be a tomboy Wink

scottishmummy · 13/09/2011 12:35

hark at you lot!a glance at dm and youre all psychoanalysing vb.diagnostics from the diagnosis murder school of psychiatry

you can tell all that from a pair of slinky boots
wowsa

Ifancyashandy · 13/09/2011 12:37

Grin Scottishmummy

wigglesrock · 13/09/2011 12:43

God, I carry my dd3 about all the time, I can't be arsed with the buggy if I'm just nipping into the shop, and the carseat plays havoc with my back Grin My best friend just had a baby boy after 3 girls, my granny had five boys then 2 girls, just the way things go, not sure they were picking and choosing babys gender. I've only ever tripped in flat shoes.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/09/2011 14:21

How do you know she was desparate for a girl and wouldn't have been delighted with another boy?

I had 2 boys and then a daughter and was delighted - it doesn't mean I love my sons any less but having a daughter has been wonderful.

LtEveDallas · 13/09/2011 14:27

Elfin, with your last post you are coming across as slightly unhinged Hmm

stylenotfashion · 13/09/2011 14:39

Of course we don't know MrsCB. We're just chatting on a topic called Sleb Twaddle.
