Not entirely tasteful, but it's what we all hoped really isn't it?

OP posts:
LadyDamerel · 16/09/2011 11:49

Okay, it's about 2/3rds of the way through, after the lion in the forest bit, just after Guy takes Isabella back to the camp and after the bit with Bertha in the castle. It's actually dialogue between Guy and Robin who walks into Guy's camp without the outlaws.

Personally I prefer the Obsession take on the exchange - it works much better without Robin but never mind!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/09/2011 13:35

::goes back to Mr Thornton onerous domestic duties::

LadyDamerel · 16/09/2011 13:50

It's almost exactly at 30 mins, Twigs, now I've found the button that tells you the time elapsed Grin.

Floors await, best not dally.

SupermassiveLBD · 16/09/2011 14:04

LOL @ at the precison locating of key scenes. No chance of getting my Gizzy on today, worse luck. Errands to run, places to be. Can you believe Gap wouldn't have such a thing as a plain white round neck 100% cotton ladies' teeshirt?

They did have black ones in the men's department though. Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 15:52

ROFL at black teeshirts!

Well, I can't stop as off out again soon (taking DD and her friend out for a Chinese tonight) and must do some chores, because not only have I been at work this morning, but between work and school run I wilfully neglected the housework in order to write the final chapter of Gizzy's Revenge!

Hope you enjoy it. BBL with a bit of a miracle luck.

Just logged on to say I won't be around tonight Sad and see you tomorrow, and I saw this, Spiro. Lovely! I shall save it, though, for a treat to get me through a potential evening from hell Sad

TTFN, Academicians, all Sad

PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 16:21

Right, that's it, reasonable request is unfindable in the Basement. I will have to wait until MissTwigs is finished with the TV and put the disc on, nwo that LadyD has kindly found the time for me :) Am not giving up on this one :) I bet after all this kerfuffle I'll watch it and think "meh..." :o Kerfuffle is a good word, I must use it more. Kerfuffle. Kerfuffle. No, it just sounds weird now...

Massive, sorry you have a daunting evening coming up :( Hope you get a nice visit from a certtain medieval gentleman (and I use the term loosely) later to make up for it :)

Oooh, final Gizzy up then, SPpro! Whoopee!

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 16:36

Oh dear, Massive. Hope it's not too tortuous.

I am planning to have very late night (possibly even some solo couch camping) so I can catch up on the last few days goodies, 'reasonable request' & 'be with me'.Grin

Just keep your fingers crossed for me that Mr & Miss S have an early night & deep sleep! Confused

OP posts:
LadyDamerel · 16/09/2011 16:43

Spiro, that has just cheered me up after a rubbish couple of Gizzy-less days. Please will you write a really long one now, where poor Gizzy gets to be happy forever 'n ever? Grin

Twigs, will have a rummage in the basement if I have a mo but in the meantime, watch Obsession!

I'm not about tonight either. LordD is turning the drawing room into a gaming hall so I am paying an evening call to a dear acquaintance.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 17:00

LadyD, just watched Obsession (I didn't bother before as I assumed there was only the song, no audio from the show). Well I predicted correctly - meh :) Maybe it's better in context - will try later.

Enjoy tonight, Spiro! I have been somewhat obsessing over "be with me". Oh to hear that in RL...

LadyDamerel · 16/09/2011 17:09

It's not, imo. Because he's saying it to Robin. TBH, it just made me giggle because of what you could interject into the pause in the Obsession version. Me being a bit childish and immature, plus I knew Massive would have had the same thought Grin.

I was looking for it in the Basement but got distRActed by RH Behind the Scenes clips which aren't on my DVDs. It's funny seeing 'Guy' laughing uproariously at something 'Robin' has said. Rather parallel universe-esque.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 17:09

Glad you enjoyed it Lady D! I've got an idea for another Gizzy story but it's quite 'out there' - it could have a happy ending, although I wasn't planning on it being a long story iykwim? Wink

Twigs as for 'be with me'...if that was directed at me there would be a damn sight more than just 'being' going on, that's for sure! Grin

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 17:55

Spiro, the 'more than that going on' is what's meant by be with me though - so, in my head, that's what he is asking her. Oh to be wanted like that... :(

LadyD, oh so it's a funny thing then?! I have totally got the wrong end of the sword stick on this one. I thought you were all talking about a phwoar moment :o

PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 18:29

Right, it's Hood o'clock. Marian's going to get a right skewering from Guy's big sword.

:o

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 20:16

I realise that Twigs, in theory, but surely he wouldn't have meant it like that in that context - presumably he would have known that a woman in Marion's position just wouldn't have gone there even if she'd wanted to - or am I barking up the wrong tree in thinking that mediaeval types were quite 'proper' like that?

Clearly I need to watch that episode again as a matter of utmost urgency! Grin

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 20:47

Hmm, I'm not sure, Spiro. I don't know enough about medieval times... but even if it wasn't the done thing (and I'm fairly sure you're right) I bet he meant it like that anyway, the dirty little knight :o

Well we watched the skewering and then MissTwigs begged to be allowed one more, so we moved onto the 1st ep of Series 3. You know how I said that I didn't like S3 Gizzy very much from the stills/YT clips and that the long hair put me off? Yeah, well I take it back :o

And this may have been mentioned before (sieve-brain, here) but, um, Carter is rather yummy, isn't he?

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 21:34

He looks like the Assistant Manager at Miss Spiro's old nursery, so I can safely say 'no' to that one (am not one for blondies tbh).

I'm sure if nothing else, Gizzy was probably hoping Marion would apply that meaning and reply "yeah, that's a reasonable request!" Grin

I know I would have

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 21:36

I think he'd have got as far as "be w..." and I'd have leapt :o

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 21:39

I'm not sure I'd have actually needed asking at all! Blush

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/09/2011 22:51

::Totters in::

::Repeats the spraying with bromide::

Isn't the point (such as it is) that Guy admires Marian for her purity (unlike the other strumpets with whom he usually consorts) and believes that marrying a virtuous girl will wash away the heinous sins he has committed - that's the gist of his conversation with Thornton before his doomed not-quite-wedding. So I very much doubt that he was inviting her for a romp on his battlements, however tempted he might be.

That's enough theorising for one evening - Ed.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/09/2011 23:03

Hi Maud - how's your day been?

Mr S is watching 'Come Fly with Me' in which Walliams and Lucas are playing a couple of Martin Clunes fangirls who have rocked up at the airport to wait for his plane to get in, complete with an MC doll and their very own song about him.

Not sure whether to Grin or Blush!

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 23:09

I don't recall that conversation, Maud but I thought it was nothing more than that he had the hots for her :)

ROFL at Come Fly With Me, Spiro! I watched that and loved it, but am constantly freaked out by the fact that David Walliams dressed as a woman looks like my aunt Confused

Good God, our rabbit just opened the door.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 23:09

I'm meant ROFL at your comments about it, not at the show itself (thoguh did love that too).

PassTheTwiglets · 16/09/2011 23:18

Time to bring the pretty

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/09/2011 23:23

My day's been ... [lost for words] ... Fridayish, but it's kind of you to ask, Spiro.

Oh no, Twigs, Guy gets quite metaphysical, for once.
