I am brain-dead tonight so this is rubbish - just a place-holder. Please do something else if you can think of a decent one!

OP posts:

::applies extinguisher to self::

It wasn't meant to be aimed solely at you, I was going to attempt a little comedy and add everyone else at the end but LordD started reading over my shoulder so I posted extra quickly - hence the mis-spelling of 'spontaneously' and the missing :: at the end.

I suspect I may have been well and truly rumbled Grin.

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:04

LOL @ comfort fire-blankie Grin.

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:04

Perhaps he needs some practice - not that I'm volunteering or anything Wink!

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:05

I'm off to have my dinner - back shortly!

SupermassiveLBD · 15/07/2011 21:20

Blimey, Cornish, where did those pop up from? Thanks for the link. Talk about putting foxes among chickens!!!

SupermassiveLBD · 15/07/2011 21:25

Think we are getting a slight hint of Thorin, in pic number one?

Glad I brought my fire-blankie with me Grin

cornishpasty · 15/07/2011 21:26

From twitter.
I thought you ladies might appreciate them. And interview is good too. Very interesting I thought to hear how he got spotted for captain America.

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:32

Lovely twiglets for Twigs in the first pic Wink.

Thanks Cornish!

I am officially Not Sure about the beard. Stubble = very nice, full beard = too much coverage. And it makes him look old, imo.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/07/2011 21:32

Yeah, I liked that too. the sort of thing you'd get told off for putting in a novel because it was too much of a coincidence.

How are you, Cornish btw? You should drop in more. We miss you (I used to be Theresaholeinyourmind)

SupermassiveLBD · 15/07/2011 21:33

Oh, I like the beard. I like him any way.

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:36

Wow! Well done for finding those cornish.

Am not quite sure what to make of those pics...he looks so different I can't quite get my head around it tbh. He looks very Shakespearean, which probably doesn't make sense but I know what I mean.

I think I'd quite like the very short hair without the beard. Or the beard but with slightly longer hair.

Wonder what the jobs he had to wriggle out of were?

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:38

On closer inspection (this is serious ReseArch going on here), I don't think it's the beard I think it's the beard and very short hair combo. It's just not quite right, somehow. Maybe either/or but not both.

::goes back for even closer look::

cornishpasty · 15/07/2011 21:39

Thanks super. Real life has kept me busy but I'm currently enjoying an RA revival.
I had stopped following every move he made for a bit, but i've been sucked right back in as dc wanted to watch some Robin hood earlier. Who am I to argue?
Some pics with the beard are lovely - others I'm unsure about at the moment.

TheSmallPrint · 15/07/2011 21:39

Wow! I think those pics are fantastic, it's a really different look but I like it a lot. Thank you Cornish!! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:40

I love this one

cornishpasty · 15/07/2011 21:42

I think the jobs he had to wriggle out of were possibly a bigger part in strike back 2?
He had also been linked with a low budget movie called Charlie - which he had to cancel on as other things came up. Now we know what.
There's also the play he was talking about doing at the end of last year which I guess he's not doing now.

cornishpasty · 15/07/2011 21:43

That's my favourite too Spero.

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:44

The only one of those where he actually looks like himself is 2 or 3 from the end, quite close up, holding the lapels of his jacket. The rest of them I think I'd have to look at twice before I recognised him, iykwim?

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:44

He has read for 'The Rover' cornish, and the ETT have said that they know people are really keen for him to be in it, so am wondering if they may have just put it on hold to see where things go for him after the filming of the Hobbit.

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:46

Not sure if this will work but this one. Not the shouty one!

LadyDamerel · 15/07/2011 21:47

It didn't - it's the 8th one across, just before the stairs.

DumSpiroSpero · 15/07/2011 21:50

I got the shouty one, Lady D, but I know the one you mean - it is very nice. The more I look at them, the more they grow on me.

Just going back to Dawn French and the snogging for a minute - is there any female celeb that if you saw him linked with you'd think 'Oi, Mr A - nooo!'

I only ask as I have wondered this for a while, particularly regarding a particular 30-something, single actress and I just wondered if the thought would have the same effect on anyone else?

Have never thought to ask before as usually we have our unwritten rule about sticking to characters but...

SupermassiveLBD · 15/07/2011 21:50

Ah c'mon. You only have to see the nose and the crinkles and the twiglets - to know who it is!

Wonder what Maud will think, she likes beards IIRC
