Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

Yum!
Well I have just stopped for the first time today as I stayed on at work to DJ for our first ever nursery school disco.
I put together lots of chart & cheesy classics as well as all the kids party dances, and dressed up a bit - was really good fun but am knackered now!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/06/2011 20:29

Ah yes, Lady Damerel. That, in the parlance of the Academy, is Hugo Boss Lucas, although I think those in the know have reported that it's actually Prada. You are absolutely right about the supremacy of the cravat.

Well, the trip to the costermongers - and, rather more, the drapers - was eventful. Lord Damerel accompanied me, which was most delightful and also most fortunate as, alack, my motorised carriage developed a puncture and I had perforce to attend the arrival of the AA man. Thus I had an hour and a half in which to do nothing but listen to the tales of fervent kisses, lewd goings-on and ::gasp:: vulgar rompings.

Sounds like my kind of afternoon Maud Grin!

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 20:51

fervent kisses, lewd goings-on and ::gasp:: vulgar rompings.

Sound like my kind of trip, Maudie. I don't suppose you got the AA man did you?

Yum from me too re Hugo Boss Lucas and the other one. Thanks for the research and artwork, Lady D.

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 20:52

X posted Spiro Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/06/2011 21:05

Yes, it did put me in mind of the average Academy party.

Sadly, it wasn't The AA Man. (I have just sped through the entire SB looking for a bigger format of that picture but must have missed it).

::Feels a little bit queasy after so much vicarious violence::

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 21:25

Never mind Maud, we know most of the pics by heart anyway so can flash them onto the screen of our inner eye.

So did the contretemps occur pre- or post- costermongers?

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 21:55

Sacrilegious as it may be I prefer my cravats more like this.

::awaits expulsion from the Academy::

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:01

Now that would look utterly divine on Mr Thornton, Lady D. All that snowy linen! Though we would all admit that Mr Darcy too gives good floppy white shirt.

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 22:07

I have to avoid thinking about RA in full regency dress, my hormones go into full overdrive and I have to lie in a darkened room for several hours indulging my fantasy.

Maud, we need a full confession here. Was it really an accidental puncture or did you engineer it in order to spend some guilt free time, uninterrupted time with Lord D? Wink

DumSpiroSpero · 28/06/2011 22:08

I can take or leave Mr D tbh. I tend to think 'phwoar' when I'm watching the DVD but seeing pics of him does nothing for me whatsoever.

On the other hand...

DumSpiroSpero · 28/06/2011 22:12

Massive - have you seen pic of the day today? It's from RH1 ep 10. I was going to post it but ended up looking through the others from that episode and found this which was just too cute to leave behind!

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:13

You are right enough there, Spiro. Mr Thornton is the Prince of Phwoar. I really must watch N&S again, sometime.

PasstheTwiglets · 28/06/2011 22:14

Oh, boo hiss on the puncture, Maud. How tiresome. Did you get as far as the bit with the kittens though? :)

Spiro, how nice of you to DJ for the kids! Aw, I bet they were so cute! DS wouldn't dance at his nursery disco, he just sat on my lap all the time :)

Night, all.

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:27

That was short and sweet, Twigs, hope you are okay? Night night.

Oh Spiro, what a cutie indeed, though I am sure he's not trying for cute, so he'd be highly annoyed to hear that said about him. Loved the pic of the day, he looks so cross...Oh who needs cravats Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 28/06/2011 22:28

I had a brilliant time Twigs - got to let loose my inner frustrated red-coat. It went really well and we're hoping to start having them regularly which would be great Grin!

Well, I took the plunge the other night and subscribed to Times Online. I only usually buy it on Sunday's but it works out cheaper to subscribe and can get it all week round. Have been ploughing through the Culture section and just seen a vid about the Tracey Emin exhibition at the Hayward Gallery which looks brilliant. I am starting to lose count of the number of trips to London I want to make this summer!

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:33

Is it worth the money, Spiro? I wouldn't pay for the site unless it was better than it used to be in the days when it was free, iyswim. And do you have to pay extra for the archive, which was the very best bit of it, i thought.

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 22:35

I haven't seen RH (or Strikeback) but Guy is growing on me with every resource posted on here.

No man should look that attractive in eyeliner Envy.

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:37

Gratuitous Gizzy pic time

Sorry ladies, I just could not resist

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 22:42

Right back at'cha

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:43

So what have you seen, Lady D, other than North and South?

SupermassiveLBD · 28/06/2011 22:45

Ah yes, Lady D. That's his patent fallen angel face. And he was going to make our flesh crawl, with that, was he?

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 22:51

VoD, probably my favourite
N&S, obviously

Erm, that may be it actually.....

All 3 GH audiobooks, does that count?

Oh, odd bits of Spooks but tbh it's too scary for me - it's hard to appreciate Lucas properly from behind a cushion with one's fingers wedged in one's ears Blush. Ditto Strikeback.

Ironically, DH is addicted to Spooks and loved Strikeback so I could half watch without arousing suspicion.

Would RH be suitable for a nearly 8yo boy? I need to spend some quality time with ds1 fairly soon Grin.

DumSpiroSpero · 28/06/2011 22:54

Lady D you must acquaint yourself with the delicious John Porter.

Massive - have only been pootling on the site this evening and have been quite impressed so far - will let you know after further investigations, although iirc from the 'signing up' blurb the archive is included in the subscription fee.

LadyDamerel · 28/06/2011 22:56

Oh, okay then, if you insist Grin.
