Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

::Looks back once more::

Although, as Gizzy sometimes looks to me like an off duty member of Motorhead, perhaps it's a case of no sleep till Hammersmith?

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 11:28

Morning all. Small, you asked about me watching S9. Yes, I saw it on TV - it was the first Spooks I'd ever seen. Plus there may also have been some downloading to enable me to watch it again since :)

Maud, :) @ your "having a pulse, presumably" criteria. Yes, I fear that you are not far wrong there.

Loving the Morpheus photo.

How are you feeling today, Small? Tum all better?

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 13:59

Morning Twigs, that'll explain the lack of extras then! Grin

Tummymuch better and I have had a marsbar bowl of soup now.

I have children coming today so have had to spendthis morning cleaning so the house so that the parents don't call in SS when they come to collect. Blush

It seesm very quiet in here at the moment so I'll just get on with chapter 24 of the Dictionary of Comparative Cravatology.

::Leaves ginger cake and homemade lemonade on the sideboard for all in need::

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 16:49

A little splash of something in that lemonade, Maud? It is Friday after all and not long to go before my completely arbitrary self-imposed rule of Not Before 6pm.

I am eBaying as parents have taken kids out from school so have house to self, hurrah. It's utterly dull though. I need a PSM to whisk me away

Afternoon

Children are in the garden and have just had a fight Confused, first and last time for that one me thinks. I'll be back later in need of some Wine.

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 17:18

Oh no, Small! Do you need a strong man to come and break up the fight, perhaps?

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 17:36

No, I'll give them a clip round the ear and then the strong man can take me out for a drink to recover my nerves. Grin

TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 17:37

This is why I don't like other peoples children having play dates. I also really dislike that horrible term.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/05/2011 17:56

Perhaps, Small, you need an intimidating man to get the little horrors darlings to behave themselves, and then the strong man can take you out and show you a good time?

Play dates get better, I find, once they're old enough to play together amicably and can resolve disputes verbally rather than with fisticuffs. But tragically, Girl does so many after-school activities that we hardly have time for play dates.

::crocodile tears::

(And yes, the word is almost as grim as the event it describes).

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 18:12

LOL at your alternate version of my plan, Small! I am unsure about playdates - part of me likes it that DD is occupied but they always make SUCH a mess that it takes hours to clear up after them (every single toy out). Also, DS wants to to join in but they don't usually want him to :(

I love his little grin in your 'strong man' pic, Maudles.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/05/2011 18:23

I have copied Small and added a user status to my name.

::twirls::

Yes, it's rather a fruity sort of grin, isn't it, Twiggoletto?

SupermassiveLBD · 20/05/2011 18:55

That user status thing is vey svey nazzy, isn't it? Perhaps that's what made MN run so slowly at the beginnng of the week. They were intalling this vital component. However did we manage without it? No seriously, it's fun Smile

The play-date concept has hit the UK, has it? I don't think it'll catch on here, Islanders are too attatched to their mad desire to do everything at the last possible minute charming spontaneity.

Please note my attendance today may be sporadic. Two invalids here today both suffering from what is either bubonic plague or boy flu. Whatever it is it involves a lot of groaning and demands for attention from yours truly.

TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 18:56

Yes that may be a better plan Maud. They've gone now so maybe I'll keep him in the cupboard mind for next time. We rarely do this either mainly because of work but also the mess. Smallboy has some delightful friends who play beautifully, todays one was not the worst by any means

Love the user status Maud Smile

Also love that little smile but can we photoshop Danni out? Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 20/05/2011 18:56

Luckily two of my friends had babies within 10 days of me, and the 2 'best' friends DD has made through school/nursery have mums I get on really well with, so when the kids have a pladate the mummies get to have one too!

TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 18:58

Massive the user status has been around for at least a year I think.

The concept of a play date has been here for ages too it just used to be called 'having a friend over' now it's all American.

Sorry the plague has arrived at yours, hope they are better soon and that you don't catch it.

DumSpiroSpero · 20/05/2011 19:03

I have a status too now!

SupermassiveLBD · 20/05/2011 19:11

Thanks, Small. I hope I don't catch it, too, as no one is going to pamper me with little delicacies to tempt my appetite or bring me hot drinks. . Re user status Blush I just hadn't come across it so far, what can you expect from an iggerunt ex-pat after all.

Ah yes indeed. In my day, a play-date was going and knocking on someones's door and saying ''Can so and so come out to play?'' with what you hoped was a winsome smile. and not too much snot round your nose if it was cold out

SupermassiveLBD · 20/05/2011 19:19

^ Right. Not to be outdone by Small and Maud...

TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 19:55

I have to say Massive, that's what I was thinking, it's the same here- noone looks after me if I'm poorly, I'm expected to Keep Calm and Carry On.

I love the new statuses(?) now we just need Twigsto get with the programme

and no I didn't mean a brummie accent.

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 20:11

:o @ Twiggoletto Oh I love your status thingies! I'd never seen it either. I will get me one soon.

Massive, sorry to hear the boys are poorly and that you aren't called on too much.

YAY! I won that Spooks 9 DVD (brand new and under a tenner, yeah baby!) Sniping rocks.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 20/05/2011 20:12

PasstheTwiglets · 20/05/2011 20:25

Sorry, I've found it now.... done it! Off to my tuna & salsa verde, back in a bit.
