Strangers are friends you just haven't met, yet. Even when they are baddies and drive science-fiction-y submarines, wearing a smart grey lounge suit.

But one...not buttoned Confused!

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 22:53

They are pretty cheeky though, Spiro... Blush

Is Lee Evans one of these nouvelle vague kind of comedians? We ex-pats tend not to get anything more sophisticated than Benny Hill, mind you.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 22:56

Imho Lee Evans is extremely juvenile, OTT and sweaty - but he is very popular on the whole.

DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 22:57

DD is a total minx for answering back at the moment. Fortunately Confused she pretty much saves it all for me!

DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 23:02

Anyone else seen this little gem on Twitter?
Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:03

Well, YT has just enlightened me, Spiro, and you are so right about Mr Evans.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:05

Lee Evans is very like Norman Wisdom. I went to see him live a loooong time ago - poor man must be almost as geriatric as me - and the whole act seemed to be an hommage to Mr Wisdom.

Girl likes swimming and always seems pretty good to me (certainly better than I was at the same age) but quite a lot of her class have been going to swimming lessons since they were babes, as one of the local schools has lessons in its pool at weekends. So, in this aquatic hothouse, she had been consigned to the bottom group but has now been promoted.

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:06
Grin Are those Disney pics genuine or photoshop? -- I have not watched princessy stuff for years and years, Disney or otherwise.
OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:07

Ah, too slow. The story of my life.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:07

They look a bit fake to me .

::Disney avoider::

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:10

In that YT clip every other word he used seemed to begin with ''f''

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 23:11

They are from Cinderella, Maud.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:14

Yes, that was the only one which looked at all likely to illustrate what I was trying to say. There was a lot of gurning and falling over - some of which you could see in the Bohemian Rhapsody clip. As for the language, he's old enough to know better.

::Cries havoc and lets slip her inner Hyacinth Bucket::

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:15

Blimey. obviously the Royals decided to have a joke on us, then, Spiro! And we've only just twigged on.

We should have known when we saw the Enchanted Forest.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:15

Oh are they, Spiro? I have managed to suppress the memory. ::wink::

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:18

Talking of havoc, Maud, that's why I like those Bernard Cornwell books, they cry havoc quite a bit in those.

Mind you, it's a bit unpleasant for the peasants.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 23:18

Have just had another look - the ugly sisters pic is from Cinderella. Am.not sure the top one is even Disney on closer inspection.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:20

Ah yes, Bernard Cornwell.

::Thinks guiltily of her unheard audiobook and fears being rusticated from the Academy::

DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 23:24

I've picked up this Bernard Cornwall from our bookswap.

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:24

You haven't neglected Uhtred of Bebbanburg, have you, Maud?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:26

All that talk of cheekiness earlier inspired to send this little gift to Spiro. Hello cheeky.

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:27

So BC is writing as a bird, here, then, Spiro. Interesting. I like his Harlequin books, there is a baddie in those that is a perfect part for a tall dark brooding man with a hawklike profile....

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/05/2011 23:30

No, I've neglected eek I can't even remember the name it's so long since I played disc 1 ::rummages:: ::finds it under the sofa with mouldy satsuma and slightly crumpled gas bill:: Venetia.

::Tenders resignation from Academy::

SupermassiveLBD · 12/05/2011 23:39

Maud, only students get kicked out of the Academy for cheeking the lecturers

The staff have life tenure, so just plonk yourself down on the cheese longoo and relaxez-vous.

Besides if Mr thornton comes round and finds you not here, he will have words with us

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 12/05/2011 23:40

I think he's writing with a woman rather than as one Massive.

Ta muchly Maud! I guessed the pic before I opened it Grin.

Off to bed now anyway - sweet dreams! Wink
