Mr Spiro is a person of sober habits. Early-ish start, on feet all day. Hey ho!

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 20:53

I, however, have vodka, twiglets PC and a big fluffy blanket - rock 'n' roll! Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/03/2011 20:54

Never mind, Spiro. You still have your online playmates.

Are you going all Harry Potter on us Small? How's things with you today?

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 21:08

I don't know if we've had this Gizzy photo before, but we definitely should have!

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 21:11

No not Harry Potter.

I'm ok, been to south coast today to visit my neice but had to take Smallboy Minor with me. Didn't get back til 7.45. I am tired.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 21:15

Not surprised - I thought you were south-ish anyway, though. Was it a bit of a trek?

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 21:20

I am west of London, she is Soton and had to go via Middlesex to he mums house.

Nice Gizzy pic btw.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 21:23

Nightmare! For some weird reason I had it my head that you were Devon/Dorset way Confused.

We went to friends birthday do last year. Had to go from our place about 8 miles west of Brighton to Tamworth in Staffordshire...via Greenwich to pick up some other mates en route. On a Saturday, bank holiday weekend.

H was suffering from a bit of a sense of humour failure by the time we got there.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 22/03/2011 21:24

Hi folks! What's happened to MN - I now have to click on Create Message - WTF?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 22/03/2011 21:26

Anyone know of any decent hotels in York that don't cost an arm and a leg?

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 21:30

No, but if you're not in hurry to book I have a friend who used to live that way I can ask for you.

Business or pleasure? I'm desperate to go and have a nosy up that way since writing the Sparkhouse fanfic. Both my olds were evacuated there too so really out to make the effort.

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 21:31

Nah, I used to live in west London, we just hopped outside the M25 about 87 years ago. Your journey sounds MUCH worse, not surprised your DH lost his humour!

Hi Phoenix, I noticed that too, thought it must be a mobile site thing? Don't know any hotels in York, sorry.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/03/2011 21:39

87 years ago - are you a vampire Small? Grin

I must admit I wasn't terribly sympathetic over our journey, but I guess that's easy when you're not the one driving. We had all day to get there and I just though we'd crank up the stereo and have a proper road trip, but 'twas not to be.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/03/2011 21:39

Then deal seems to be that we get a larger frame in which to compose our message (and a more legible font to boot) but we now create a message rather than post it. Seems a good trade to me.

I will ask my friend who only ever stays in smart hotels where she stays when in York. Watch this space.

Small - Have you had a Polish cordial cocktail yet?

::Staggers in an inebriated manner towards Small, clutching the cocktail shaker::

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 21:45

only 7 years ago, honest Spiro Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/03/2011 21:50

Is Waitress Eagerly a friend of Mistress Quickly?

::boom boom::

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 22:01
Grin
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/03/2011 22:07

A pressie for Spiro.

Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/03/2011 22:09

::As she falls, tips pitcher of cocktail over Small's head, leaving her with orange peel and a paper parasol embedded in her now-sodden tresses::

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 22:12

that was Maud

that was me!

Wow that's gorgeous! Ahh to wake up next to that face. Must get a pillow case made up with that photo on! Grin

TheSmallPrint · 22/03/2011 22:14

Tis a good look for me Maud

SupermassiveLBD · 22/03/2011 22:17

Greetings ladies! Goodness, what an improvement this font is, I can actually read it.

Is there another glass left in that cocktail shaker, waitress eagerly? I could do with a stiff drink, as the crocs missed eating the visitors and they got back here all happy and hungry. At least I didn't have to go on a long car journey. Poor Small, my sympathies.

I am lurking in the back room whil everyone watches an extremely improving program on the telly.

Nice piccy of Spiro's virtual boyfriend, and the one of Gizzy is pretty darn good too.
