It's so sweet how yo usaid his voice was tinged with pride when he told Rosie he was married - even though it han't been much of a marriage for him. Oh this is lovely, Spiro.... back to it!

SupermassiveLBD · 10/03/2011 21:22

Well, leg-warmers and ponytail aside, he can certainly move...

TheSmallPrint · 10/03/2011 21:31

Evening. I couldn't run the vid but you can easily spot him in the blue vest, luckily the picture on here is too small to pick up any ponytails thank God.

Maud are they going to do some skin tests on Garden girl? Try and think of any new things - food, smelly stuuf, soap, washing powder etc that could be a trigger. Good luck with it.

Btw parents evening went well Smile

Smallio, glad that parents evening went well - what a relief!

Spiro, I love, love, LOVED your story. As I think Massive said last night, you can picture it so well. Can't wait for the rest!

Off to bed now. Am physically and mentally exhausted atm so need an early night - will try not to play Angry Birds on my phone for 45 mins like I did last night :)

TheSmallPrint · 10/03/2011 21:40

Night Twigs. Dream Yorkshire moors dreams.

SupermassiveLBD · 10/03/2011 21:41

Night night Twigs, sleep tight. Mayhap you will have a nice dream about dear, sweet John S, after Spiro's fabulous story.

The Beeb really ought to snap it up, you know.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 10/03/2011 22:47

For it's quiet in here tonight. I guess everyone is tired after last nights shenanigans.

SupermassiveLBD · 10/03/2011 22:57

I'm here as usual, Small, just doing some other stuff while waiting for someone else to pop up!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/03/2011 22:58

Feeling gloomy. Can hear The Girl squealing as The Bloke wrestles her to the floor to put her eye drops in. I should have said more clearly that the doctors aren't convinced it is an allergy - I had assumed it was, but some of the usual indicators of allergy are absent - but nor are they sure it's anything else.

::chews knuckles::

I'm tired so I'm off to bed, rendered speechless by those Cats clips (and not in a wholly good way).

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 10/03/2011 23:06

Spiro, I have been reading your story - it's great - I look forward to the next installment - and I've become your fan!!

Also you should add it to the RA club library.

SupermassiveLBD · 10/03/2011 23:11

Oh Maud, I am so sorry, poor you and poor GardenGirl. Is there absolutely no way bribes could work, re the eye drops, or could you get her to pretend she was Marian being interrogated by the sheriff, and being very tough and brave.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/03/2011 23:20

Nah, Massive, bribes have been tried and failed ever since she was old enough to reason with us. That's why she's had almost no medicine over the years - not because we're opposed to it but because we can't get it down her neck. Now we have to contend with eye drops too. Ugh.

At least I have wiped those Cats pics from my brain

::slopes off to bed feeling very Eeyore-ish::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 10/03/2011 23:21

I used to hate it when I had eye drops as a child - and it seemed to happen quite often!! So I really symphathise with Garden Girl, Maud!! How dreadful! I assume you have tried bribery already?

DumSpiroSpero · 10/03/2011 23:25

Evening All!

It wasn't just Victoria sponge, Massive - it was coffee and walnut - yum!

Thanks for your feedback on the story Smile. I have started Chapter 5, so hope I may be able to post some more tomorrow. The first chapter has had 40 reads now apparently which is a bit Shock!

Hope GardenGirl is soon on the mend - eye drops are a bugger.

As for Cats - yes I went there. Only the stills though, couldn't bring myself to click play on the vids. Am still recovering from the mental scars inflicted by the one on YouTube someone posted a couple of months ago (him dancing to some Gloria Estefan track?)

DumSpiroSpero · 10/03/2011 23:36

Early nights all round then I presume?

Night night!

SupermassiveLBD · 10/03/2011 23:39

Night Spiro, looks like your story is really taking off, how lovely!
Cake sounds good too, coffee and walnut is my favourite.

See you all tomorrow

TheSmallPrint · 11/03/2011 07:53

Morning!!

i have hardly slept a wink. I spent all night have anxiety dreams Sad

PassTheTwiglets · 11/03/2011 08:24

Oh Maud, how awful for you and GGirl :( I never managed to get eyedrops into DD so I really sympathise - so horrible when you have to hold them down like that. What a stress for you all.

Small, sounds like you are having a rough time of it lately :( Is it a particularly stressful period at the moment that's liekly to end soon, or is it ongoing? I hope it's the former.

Spiro, that dancing clip - was it the one with 3 of them standing in a garden? That scarred me for life :)

Back later with some visual treats. Including one which is bound to become an Academy Classic - it literally took my breath away. School run beckons first though.

TheSmallPrint · 11/03/2011 09:14

Twigs, its peaks and troughs with work but I have had a couple of enquiries for biggish projects which, while exciting, have made me nervous. It's one thing to feel comfortable with a team around you but when it's just you it can get a bit nerve wracking!

anyone see this on Google home page

Tsunami Alert for New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, and others. Waves expected over the next few hours, caused by 8.9 earthquake in Japan

I hope everyone is OK Sad

PassTheTwiglets · 11/03/2011 09:29

Now just feast your eyes on this ladies - especially you, Massive! I had to look closely to make sure it was actually a photo - couldn't it be a pre-Raphaelite painting?! Stunning.

It came from here, a 'post your favourite photo' thread, which Phoenix's link lead me to. There are some beautiful shots - too many to mention but there is another beard one which deserves a special mention :) And the comment about my favourite photo, on Pg. 1 is so true - his eyes really do follow you!

TheSmallPrint · 11/03/2011 09:55

Thank you for those Twigs, some lovely shots there.

Sometimes it takes me a while to put two and two together but reading some of those posts just made a lightbulb go on over my head. Our Man was at the Birmingham Rep when I was a student there. Just think, I could have been dancing with him at any of the local night spots.

TheSmallPrint · 11/03/2011 09:55

(we are the same age so it could have happened!!)

SupermassiveLBD · 11/03/2011 10:21

Morning all and sympathies for the angst-ridden. Small, I hope you soon get yourself confidently on track with wonderful new and lucrative projects. And manage to get yourself a few good nights' sleep.

And Maud, I am thinking of you and GardenGirl and hoping all your problems are over soon. There is nothing more unsettling than mysteriously sick DCs.

Twiggy, that photo! What can I say? It is indeed like a painting, and of the pre-Raphaelite school too, snd Guy looks sinfully romantic and brooding in the very delicious-est and darkest of ways.

And then you see the other photos, of other characters and him as himself, and you marvel at how this can be the same person.

Fingers crossed for all the many millions along the Pacific Rim. It must have been horrendous in Japan.

SupermassiveLBD · 11/03/2011 10:22

Oh Small, wails re your lost Brum chances!

DumSpiroSpero · 11/03/2011 10:29

Grrr! Was just about to sit down at 'puter for morning of writing & MN, when MIL materialized on the doorstep with plumber in tow (long story).

They are still upstairs. Hopefully will be back shortly for a nosey at Twigs photos on the big screen (if MIL & I don't kill each other first Angry)

BTW, Twigs - it was the vid you mention...never again!
