Night all! Back to Claude for me.

TheSmallPrint · 19/03/2011 07:32

Morning!

what a beautiful day it is here, Spring looks like it has sprung. Smile

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 08:21

Morning Small! I have been observing this beautiful morning with DD since 5.30am Hmm

I think it might be time for her to start going to bed later!
How old do they have to be before you have to scrape them out of bed in the morning?

I don't know but I am also waiting for that day. We were 6.30 so slightly better than your wake up call.

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 10:33

Morning! It is beautiful, isn't it?! Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where my Lucas is?

Spiro, I hate to tell you but my kids wake up at silly o'clock no matter what time they go to bed! When we were in Disney they were going to bed at 10 or 11 pm some nights and they still woke up at 6am. I am dreading the clocks going forward - his 5.30am is suddenly going to be 4.30am!! We take it in turns to get up with the kids on a weekend so I've only just got up which was bliss :) But tomorrow I'll be joining you at 5.30 or 6 too!

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 11:07

I'm hoping that H will get up and do swimming tomorrow as he's out in the afternoon.

DD is exactly the same re late nights tbh. It might make half an hour of difference but that's about it, so all the while I can get away with 7pm bedtime and a peaceful evening I think I'll go with that, although she's already noticing it getting lighter and complaining about going to bed before it's dark.

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 11:25

Blackout blinds are your friend, Spiro!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 19/03/2011 11:43

Black out blinds are brilliant I agree, even better to have them with curtains with black out linings. And I also covered a small window above the bedroom door with a piece of black out lining. Leave no stone unturned, I say.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 19/03/2011 11:48

Beatiful day - yes! - quick lunch soon then out for the afternoon, methinks!

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 12:01

I did fit blackout blinds a while back but they pulled the window frame apart (don't ask - previous owners of house were DIY freaks & did everything on the cheap)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/03/2011 12:27

Morning all. ::checks watch:: Afternoon all.

We have a child-free evening as Girl is going to a sleepover. I wonder if there's anywhere still showing True Grit?

Girl has to be levered out of bed in the mornings, so there is hope of a sort. Mind you, she has always being capable of sleeping for England just like her sainted mother- and so this getting up at 5.30am lark is completely unknown territory for me.

::counts blessings::

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 13:24

I bought blackout lining and stapled (I don't do sewing) some velcro to it, then put sticky velcro on the window frame and hey presto! We just stick the lining up at night and pull it off in the morning.

How are you feeling today, Maud?

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 13:35

Oh, did all the Twitter people see the 'reveal yourself for Comic Relief' pics?! Porter was very sweet (and, um, rather nice!) and kept saying that he was worried people unfollow him after he posted his pic, because he said "I know I'm not RA" and he thought everybody would be disappointed, bless him!

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 13:45

I did see them Twigs - emant to say something earlier. Porter was quite nice wasn't he? Wink

I thought Gizzy looked a bit like The Edge but I was on my phone so was a tiny picture. I keep trying to put the image together with the slightly saucy tweet he sent me once and it's soooo not working!!!

Re the blackouts - I did exactly the same as you but got sticky velcro and attached it to a couple of pieces of black mount board - didn;t work very well though.

I think she has got lined curtains but they're on a pole so light gets in round the edges and she has a night light anyway so I think it's just her body clock.

SupermassiveLBD · 19/03/2011 13:50

The Invaders have gone out for a walk so I stayed behind to mumsnet tidy up!

And kerrrumbs, what did I find when I peeked last night?

You know, demands for attention at inopportune moments have always been a massive turn-ofF for Massive. But oh, lawdy, not this time.

Urgh! I can just picture her dashing back up the path after the best possible dessert, a nice slice of Gizzy pie, hoping she's not been missed, checking to make sure she's not got her skirt tucked up in her pants, and praying there is no stubble rash.

Mind you, being in a bit of a truculent mood, afTer being kept waiting for his fun for an hour, he decided he had to punish her....So she didn't sleep a wink last night, as she was following the advice on Twig's poster rather too well Blush

Thank you so much, VW, aka our resident writer-in-chief. What a lovely surprise and what could be better to divert me when I am obliged to be in hostess mode.

I hope Maud's lurgy proves short-lived.

Catch you all later, and thanks for you kind thoughts and the very hot story. I do hope he'll be back again to night. What I saw in the woodshed was not nasty at all Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 14:07

Grin glad you're surviving Massive and have managed to get a break.

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 14:30

Reminds me of one of my fave song lyrics - "there's nothing in the woodshed, except maybe some wood" :)

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 14:49

ROFLMAO!

Just seen this in the guide - do you think they take fictional characters too?

Grin
SupermassiveLBD · 19/03/2011 15:04

Grin and no comment about Twigg's song lyrics.

I am very very bad today, must be the MN deprivation, as I keep hoping wondering if Gizzy's last words were a double entendre

LOL @ Spiro's website. Fictional dead characters of course?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 15:07

You are very, very bad today aren't you Massive?

I think you may have just stolen my 'Queen of Smut' crown Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 19/03/2011 15:17

Oh, golly, Spiro, now you will feel obliged to try to wrest it back, and we shall both get into trouble.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 15:29

MASSIVE!!!! Shock :o Hahahahahaha!!!!

(LOL at Spiro's website, too!)

PassTheTwiglets · 19/03/2011 15:31

Literally can't stop laughing at that comment, Massive... :)

DumSpiroSpero · 19/03/2011 15:38

Jeez! I can't say laughing was the first thing that came to my mind!

TheSmallPrint · 19/03/2011 15:39

Spiro we have blackout blinds and curtains on a north facing room and t still doesn't stop them waking up! I am cursed just have larks for children and must accept that.
