Exactly how long are you planning to keep me waiting? a deep voice growled into her ear. I've had to tell Vaisey a string of lies in order to be here but now you're telling me you have to entertain guests all evening? This displeases me. I had other... plans... for you.
Guy tossed his fringe back out of his eyes and he glared at her.
I'm sorry but you know how it is, she whispered. I can't just leave these people, I'm expected to do the dutiful housewife thing here!
He stared at her, his expression a mixture of desire and anger. Look, perhaps I could sneak out for an hour once they have their coffee she said, peeking around the door to make sure that nobody was listening. I could pretend there is something urgent I need to attend to.
He stared at her for just a beat too long and then smirked as he replied well I am in urgent need of your attention...
She laughed and he raised his hand, clad in a black leather glove, to stroke her cheek as he whispered Hurry, I can't wait much longer....
An hour or so later, the dinner plates had been cleared away and she felt her breathing getting quicker as she went to make the coffee. She handed the cups round and made sure all her guests were settled. Would you excuse me for a little while? she said, a little breathlessly. I have to deal with, um, something....
She went to the garden to find him but there was no sign of Guy at first and she wondered where he'd gone. Surely he hadn't given up waiting for her? She was just about to resign herself to the fact that he had gone back to the castle when she was aware of someone in the shadows behind her, breathing deeply. She turned to see him standing there, his black leathers shining in the moonlight.
At last, he said gruffly. He took her hand and pulled her into the shadows. Now come with me, he growled.
