Am not that fussed about DSS, Massive, but Dum...(sorry Phoenix!)

DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 18:33

Just stumbled across it on Twitter - haven't watched it all properly as was getting dinner - one for the bath later Grin!

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 18:38

Which one? Still haven't seen either properly yet. Am about to lock myself in the bathroom with phone, wine, dvd player & Ultimate Force.

Hopefully will manage covert ops without DH noticing Grin!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 20:19

The first one - grammar lesson

...couple of embarrassing moments today...

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 20:20

That's my fave too!

Embarrassing moments?

DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 20:22

Hmm Blush

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 20:29

Grin at Spiro! You poor thing. Still frosty round your way?

Spill the beans Phoenix.

DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 20:31

No SmallPrint, all is well. I think he may have realised it has certain fringe benefits Grin.

Will have to be a little more discreet with the viewing materials though, don't want to do too much damage to DH's apparently fragile ego.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 21:02

I blame my iPhone for the first one, it sometimes jumbles the album covers. I have some pics of the Man on certain "tracks", and so the source material is there to be jumbled..anyway, he had just got in the car and up one pops a picture on a completely unrelated music track...cue Phoenix frantic track changing whilst driving! But I'm pretty sure he must have seen it...hasn't said anything though.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 21:09

Hee hee Phoenix, what are we like? I suppose if my DH was swooning over pictures of an actress I wouldn't be very happy.

DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 21:10

I have a gallery of about 30 fave pics, plus bookmarks to various fanfics and YouTube clippage. I have to keep fobbing DD off as to why she can't play on my phone in case she stumbles across something and blurts something out in front of DH Confused

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 21:20

I never let the kids play on my phone for that very reason - sometimes I feel so mean - they love looking at funny cats on YouTube, or playing Angry Birds, and I have the paid for version with lots of extra levels.. Am I a bad mummy?

The second incident was related to Valentines Day. He brought home a delicious gourmet chocolate cake (it actually consists entirely of chocolate goo, there is actually NO cake there at all - yum!)

Anyway, he was talking about the cake, and said something about it being just what I wanted on Valentines Day, and I mumbled something about being able to think of some other things that I would like (always the ungrateful one!) and he proceeded to say "well apart from a million pounds, and R.... A.....!"

I'm afraid I just kept quiet...

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 21:26

I wouldn't be too bothered about the million pounds or the chocolate cake tbh Grin

Although if I made that comment after yesterday I'd probably need at least some of the dosh as I'd be homeless!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 21:28

Oh dear Spiro!!!!

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 14/02/2011 21:32

Uh-oh, Phoenix :) Are you on black ops then? I thought you were the same as me - out but trying to be tactful.

A knowing smile at "fringe benefits", Spiro ;)

As you said, Small, I certainly wouldn't be happy if the tables were turned, which does make me feel guilty - but then I know that my hobby is innocent fun and perhaps I would be concerned that it was more worrying in reverse. Not sure if that makes sense or not.

I was trying to explain an RH plotline to MissTwiglets tonight and I said "Marian is going to see Guy but then going to rescue the boy" - at whivh point Dr Twiglets remarked "you'd just go and see Guy and wouldn't bother with the rescue, wouldn't you?" :o

Very sleept (been up since 5am) so night night everyone. Enjoy the rest of your evening and Maud, hope you enjoyed The King's Peach;.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 21:37

And it's for that very reason I don't store this stuff on my phone!

DumSpiroSpero · 14/02/2011 21:38

I may be exaggerating but probably best not to test that theory.

I think I must have a very un-jealous nature, as DH ogling slebs really wouldn't bother me. He's been on about 4 trips to Amsterdam during the time we've been together and I know has attended various 'shows' and I honestly couldn't give a hoot.

SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 21:38

Night night, Twigs, hope I catch you, just been watching Spooks 5.1 on telly!

SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 21:48

The first vid was wonderful, Spiro, as I said before. Rotten old YT decided that was enough for me and won't let me see the second one. Still, one out of two isn't bad.

Re Spooks 5, I am finding it less snappy somehow than series 7. The music isn't quite as sharp, nor the editing. Perhaps that's unfair. I shall see if I think the same thing next time.

Strange to see Ros with long hair.

And RPJ. Obviously it might have something to do with his character, but I found myself thinking well, and they say The Man is wooden!

I am glad to hear you are surviving, Spiro.

And Grin at Phoenix's spouse's Valentines gift comment.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 21:56

I agree with you Massive - RPJ is a totally wooden actor.. I mean, he is very good looking, and I have appreciation for his charms, but...he just doesn't match up to the Man. When he was first cast in Spooks and appeared in Series 3, I just thought that he looked like a male model, and I was SO disappointed that MM left, perhaps that was partly my problem with him. He grew into the role for sure, and in many ways defined Spooks, but....there is just something lacking there.

He popped up in a movie I was watching a couple of years ago, a Woody Allen movie set in London, quite a good one with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. In fact I would definitely recommend it, if I could remember what it was called - a return to form for Woody, for sure. RPJs role (as a policeman, or something like that) was very small, and it just makes me think that he has everything to prove when it comes to branching out of UK TV. And in fact he had an unfortunate experience in Hollywood, where he was cast in the pilot of a series, and then dropped when the series was picked up.

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 22:05

The Woody Allen movie I mentioned is called Matchpoint and was actually made in 2005 !!!! Wow - time flies!!! Good movie, though.

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 22:10

I was worried I was being a little unfair, Phoenix, as I haven't really seen RPJ in anything apart from bits on YT. But since watching the Man act, I have started to watching all actors more closely from the technical angle -- comparing how they work, etc. It's very interesting.

I suppose RPJ is goodlooking, in fact I know he is but that sort of looks has never been too appealing for me. I had a blond ''wannabe boyfriend'' chase after me when I was teensy, and was always jealous of my friend because ''hers'' was dark haired. I must have been all of eight at the time.
