Would you like a glass of Chateau Gizzy?

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:22

My GH was fine, but yes - last 2 eps of BtS were faulty both times - what a bugger as there were some very 'interesting' scenes from what I could tell!

Was telling my mum earlier about the Hobbit press conference, and as a result ended up emailing her a Beardy pic. She is currently pondering whether or not she prefers him clean shaven. It seems I.may have 'turned' my fairly straightlaced 71yo mum Grin

As for my naughty thoughts, it's all down to reading 'The Gruinard Project' with its mention of Lucas' 8 year 'hiatus' whilst captive in Russia.

If RA split from his gf in 2009, and isn't inclined to 'put it about' - I'm just thinking, that's a long time, isn't it?

TheSmallPrint · 11/02/2011 22:37

That is a long time to be sure, can't be helped by all the sex scenes he has to act out in just about everything he's in!

PassTheTwiglets · 11/02/2011 22:39

It's a long time, meaning.....?

Glad you're still there SmallPrint. was starting to think everyone was either..

a) mortified at my overactive imagination

b) speed reading The Gruinard Project, or...

c) I'd caused an international thudding incident Grin

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:45

Meaning...I'm not sure...it's just a long time. Am trying not to think beyond that, given I've well and truly stepped over the boundaries there in the first place.

SupermassiveLBD · 11/02/2011 22:46

Probably all three of the above, MrsLN, but with appropriate change of pronoun in choice a)

(I am on chapter 11)

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:47

...and the possibility that coming on here after the best part of a bottle of Chateau Gizzy may not be such a good idea!

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:49

If you are on Chapter 11 SMLBD, then I have to say that imho, the best is yet to come Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 11/02/2011 22:52

Surely not, MrsLN, Shock I may never be quite the same again, already. Grin

TheSmallPrint · 11/02/2011 22:53

SorryMrs I was watching Lee Mack inbetween posting.

I know we shouldn't speculate about real life but sometimes these thoughts pop into your head involuntarily and then people like me force you to spillGrin.

Can you link to story for me?

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:58

here you go not that I've got it bookmarked or anything Blush

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 22:59

What was Lee Mack on? I love him - saw him live this time last year.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 11/02/2011 22:59

I wondered if it was the DVD player (which cost 15 quid from Argos!) but it doesn't play on the laptop either. Crummy!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 11/02/2011 23:07

What a pain, Phoenix. I wonder if Amazon realise? Or if they don't care.

PassTheTwiglets · 11/02/2011 23:11

Lee Mack is on at the moment, on Dave.

Have you seen the latest Stick Fgure Richard? It is HILARIOUS. check out us girls at around 1.02

Phoenix, so did you get as far as the 'under the table' scene? :o

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 11/02/2011 23:19

Yes, I saw the "under the table" scene Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/02/2011 23:24

Oh Lordy. The poor man. You Know What I Mean.

::penetrating stare::

Just back from the thee-ay-ter where one of the cast (skims through programme) was in BTS.

I like the fact that he admits to being 40 (although he isn't quite, is he?) and middle-aged. The cult of youth is vastly over-rated, I think.

::quaffs Polish cordial::

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 23:26

Phoenix - is your BtS badly pixellated with dodge sound?

I did persevere with the second copy just to find out what happened in the end. Is not good tbh, although there is a bit more sauciness en route!

MrsLucasNorth · 11/02/2011 23:27

Hi Maud - did you see anything good?

(And yes, I know...!)

PassTheTwiglets · 11/02/2011 23:27

Sorry Maud, we did try to be good*

Couldn't agree more about the cult of youth - I'm having a far better time now 42 than I did in my 20s! (well, perhaps a few years ago, before we had the kids :o)

  • nah, we didn't try at all :)
PassTheTwiglets · 11/02/2011 23:28

Yes MrsLN, it's not good - but the name, the name! :o

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/02/2011 23:32

Really ::po-faced:: you crossed a line there.

'Twas Romeo and Juliet. I'll be back in a mo once I've had a rummage in the basement.

SupermassiveLBD · 11/02/2011 23:32

Evening Maud, our theatre critic at large.
It sounded as if becoming 40 was getting to him a bit, that's why I mentioned it. Of course he doesn't need to worry. He was looking the picture of health, as ever.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 11/02/2011 23:40

My BtS just doesn't play (stops, starts, freezes) on second disk. Sound sometimes affected, sometimes just carries on without the pictures.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/02/2011 23:41

A topical pome wot I wrote.

When forty winters shall besiege thy brow,
And dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field,
Thy youth's proud livery, so gazed on now,
Will be a tatter'd weed, of small worth held:
Then being ask'd where all thy beauty lies,
Where all the treasure of thy lusty days,
To say, within thine own deep-sunken eyes,
Were an all-eating shame and thriftless praise.
How much more praise deserved thy beauty's use,
If thou couldst answer 'This fair child of mine
Shall sum my count and make my old excuse,'
Proving his beauty by succession thine!
This were to be new made when thou art old,
And see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.

Or maybe not.
