Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

Techno - I see you also had a little sojourn to the 'mumsnet groups' thread. What did you think of my sales pitch Grin?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 31/01/2011 14:40

I've been pondering Theresa's problems with the non-delivery of her dvd goodies. YouTube won't let me see a clip from the film as it's too rude, so this is the best illustration I can find at the moment, to say that The Postman Always Rings Twice.

Film buffs will start fanning themselves now.

Ah, well, MrsLN. I only went there to pick up the mention of tea shops, as the one child family tea room is where I generally spend my MN time or it was until you and the others lured me over to the dark side. I deliberately didn't mention the Academy because I couldn't think how to describe it without making us all sound completely bats, but you did a good job.

::Puts out more ratafia biscuits in case Mrs LN had encouraged more students to enrol::

Right. Going off comms for a while as I have a date with a Military Man.

All this Claude lark is making me want to get the DVD myself. The bits on YT are so so very tempting, with all the wonderful colour scenery and light, that I would want to watch it even if it didn't contain a TNSDHIP*.

Yes, Guylessness is a sad state to be in, he always puts a smirk on my face and a spring in my step. I might indulge later, at dead of night, on the lappy.

Oh, hello everyone who popped up while I was in the throes of composition. What is theis sales pitch of whichcyou speak?

PassTheTwiglets · 31/01/2011 15:02

Techno!! You are posting the exact 'close your eyes' screencap mere seconds before I have to leave to pick DD up from school - I will never get there on time now as I, of course, have to stare at the picture for a good ten minutes!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/01/2011 15:21

Oh yes, I found it! Very nicely put, MrsLN,and ably supported by Techno. You both sounded very level-headed and sane.

No indeed it's true, we are a very sane and sensible lot. But just a little flummoxed by the wonder that is Mr A.

It's not our fault.

TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 16:28

I found it too, made us sound like a right bunch of loons.

Wouldn't have it any other way, don't know how I'd get through the week without you ladies and a gawp at RA.

MrsLucasNorth · 31/01/2011 16:51

Ditto, SmallPrint Grin!

TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 16:55

Mad as hatters the lot of you Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/01/2011 17:20

I must be really mad, then, if I thought it made us sound sane Grin Confused

MrsLucasNorth · 31/01/2011 17:55

I didn't think it was too bad. I did say that we don't spend all our time ogling RA!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 31/01/2011 18:06

I thought what we were doing was gazing in respectful awe, MrsLN. Wink

MrsLucasNorth · 31/01/2011 18:15

Speak for yourself Theresa Grin!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 31/01/2011 19:24

::Returns from Hot Date::

Sorry, Twiggy. Does it help if I say that what I was looking for was the photo of the Kitchen Table Gymnastics, to complete the Postman Always Rings Twice allusion? No, I thought it probably wouldn't.

I think we need to raise the tone now.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 20:13

I got your reference Techno although could have found a scene a bit further on .

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/01/2011 20:14

Thanks for the marketing speal MrsLN - I thought it sounded reasonable which means that I must indeed be completely bonkers. You countered the Dibley comment admirably I thought.

BTW I had also concluded that @Lucassouth is nothing to do with @Lucasnorth or rather @lucasnorth now. The "voice" was different from the start. Also if you look up @Lucas_north now it just says "idiot". Or at least it did.

I'm not sure about that @Lucassouth though, referring to @LucasNorth as 'her' and then having the cheek to tweet "didn't I realise @LucasNorth_ is a woman" - aarrrgh so unnecessary and I'm not a complete idiot!

TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 20:17

I meant 'right bunch of loons' in an affectionate way Wink

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 31/01/2011 20:22

Small - It is possible to find the Postman tabletop scene online but you have to join YT/log into other sites to prove you're over 18 and won't be corrupted by Such Filth. I'm too much of a scaredy cat to do that.

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/01/2011 20:32

Join YouTube!! I've done that already so where is that link!!! However I fear disappointment.

TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 20:34

No, no Techno, I meant this

TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 20:36

I would be too much of a scaredy cat to sign up and find the real clip!

MrsLucasNorth · 31/01/2011 20:38

Blimey SmallPrint - you are on fire today! Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 31/01/2011 20:38

Phoenix - Just use the search facility and include the word kitchen. Much depends on what you think of Jack Nicholson, I imagine.

Ah but, Small, that picture of a picture is so fuzzy. And I hope that table wasn't a superstore flat-pack - it'd collapse!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 31/01/2011 20:52

heh heh heh Grin

Techno, just blur your eyes a bit and use your imagination Wink
