Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

Only on You Tube, I watch everything in little bite sized chunks. I have to pay for Venetia though and I don't want to!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 18:18

Oh yes, Lady Bracknell. But Mrs Thatcher always used to remind me of her. And she was big on handbags too.

Now ladies...

TheSmallPrint · 24/01/2011 18:19

Are you saying that RA sounds like a mix of Lady bracknell and Maggie?? Good Lord, I'm definately not buying it now!

TheSmallPrint · 24/01/2011 18:20

what kittens???

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 18:25

You will have to buy it to find out, Small Grin

RA is delightful and enchanting with his different voices. He's really very clever and funny!

And he does some lovely smouldery bits as Lord D.

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 18:56

I have to admit I was not at all keen on the Lady Denny voice, although I'm sure it suited the character. I took a few attempts to get into it as it's quite a while before Lord Damerel makes an appearance but my word, it is sooo worth the wait, especially the kittens...

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 18:59

Small I got it from my library - ask yours to search for it by ISBN (1843793792) that way you'll be sure it's the RA version if they do have a copy.

PassTheTwiglets · 24/01/2011 19:42

Ooooh yes Lady Denny was hideous - I don't like him doing women's voices at all, I must admit.

A resounding YES to Sparkhouse next, Theresa!

Re Lady Denny - on the Venetia interview in the Naxos Audiobooks site, he talks about hearing someone on a radio phone-in show whose voice eventually became Lady Denny.

I do remember the interview when he talked about Guy being a robot but can't place it at the moment. Richard Armitage Central website has transcripts of many interviews (and the RH commentaries that he has done too) so might be worth a look there.

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 19:48

Sparkhouse is just fab. It sound completely bonkers given that he bears a striking resemblance to Benny from Crossroads for most of it, but my heart was racing from the moment he first appeared - the character is so lovely and he plays him brilliantly - such a contrast to the characters he's more well known for.

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 19:49

Phoenix - did you finish BtS and was your copy ok? Am still considering trying a 3rd time to get a working copy!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 24/01/2011 19:55

Have not had opportunity to finish BtS yet - perhaps won't for a few days. Tired tonight - been on long business journey.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 19:57

Thanks for the robot help, Phoenix. 'Ow was 'Uddersfield?

Gush away, MrsLN, no need to apologise. Was I not doing some pretty full-on Gizzy-gushing earlier today?

Looks like Sparkhouse it is, then.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 20:08

Well, it would have been rude not to get it. The p&p cost more than the DVD!

Also, it was filmed in a place where some relatives of mine were born. So it's family history research, isn't it?

Naughty Amazon thinks I should get Strike Back and Moving On too.

Yah!foiled ya! I did it with my left hand!

Have you seen the new north of the border smilies? [bsmile]

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 20:12

Strikeback is well worth it. I really wouldn't bother with Moving On.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 24/01/2011 20:13

Yeah Huddersfield was...well Huddersfield. All went smoothly. Back in the old office tomorrow, and another mega meeting to look forward to...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 24/01/2011 20:15

With Moving On, the DVD is not expensive, but to conserve funds I think that you can buy single episodes on iTunes for 1.99 or something like that.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 20:21

Fortunately I have to follow a one at a time policy because of the customs, MrsLN. so I am immune to Amazon's blandishments. But Strike Back looks like a candidate for my next little indulgence. Looking forward to meeting shy little John/Ralph, meanwhile. When am I going to watch all this, I ask myself. At the rate of one or two episodes a week, it's going to take me for ever.

Tell, me, how do you manage to take all those baths of yours? I have to wait till everyone has gone out, otherwise it's constant yelling ''where's this?' and 'haven't you finished yet?' through the keyhole.

Glad to hear you are safe back from Ooop North, Phoenix. Up there it's another country

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 20:26

LOL@ Amazon --confirmation email recommends Golden Hour and Frozen. They don't give up, do they? [bgrin]

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 20:33

Theresa - DD is only 6, so in bed asleep by 7.30. DH generally out or glued to Sky Sports, hence long baths, dvds and Mumsnetting!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 20:40

I thought you might have developed some brilliant strategy like telling them that if you didn't have your baths regularly you'd turn into an ogre or something.

Hmm no magic peaceful bath solution for me then. Maybe I should invest in some handcuffs and gags.

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 20:53

I would turn into an ogre, Theresa. Those baths are about the only 'me time' I get these days.

I'm an only child and DH used to work shifts so now we are all on the same schedule and home/working at the same time I do struggle with my sanity a bit!

I will actually relocate dh's toothbrush into the spare loo so he doesn't disturb me if he comes to bed before I'm ready to get out!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 21:06

And quite right too!

Bet I know one toothbrush you wouldn't relocate...

MrsLucasNorth · 24/01/2011 21:15

I'd be investing in a larger bath too...Wink!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 24/01/2011 21:47

I wonder how poor Techno is going on with no telly. Even if you don't watch it yourself, it keeps others busy.

Not a bath like they had up at t'castle, I trust, MrsLN. That cloth they lined them with looked really manky. Or was that because it'd been so long since the sheriff's last bath? Bet that left some tide-mark.
