Oh that bit, yes I agree there.

The last photo you put up twigs was just not sure about the red cardi number though Hmm

PassTheTwiglets · 19/01/2011 22:18

I liked the red cardi ones until he rolled up the sleeves and then he looked like he was wearing a Boden cardi from the women's range...

Night Twiggy!

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 07:40

Morning ladies, sorry I had to dash off last night.

Can see I will be revisiting the Russian website (lots Wink

Twigs - John/Ralph is sooooo lovely. I started Sparkhouse intending to watch an episode a night and ended up watching the whole thing in one go! There's a conversation he has with Carol before they get married which is incredibly sweet (if slightly Blush). You'll know the one when you see it if you haven't already.

Hope dd's on the mend today.

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 07:53

Also interested to know what others who've seen Sparkhouse think of Andrew. I thought he took PLFWittery to a whole new level and wanted to reach into the tv and give him a huge slap tbh.

PassTheTwiglets · 20/01/2011 08:36

Morning all. I did the same thing, MrsLN, watched it all in one go. Couldn't turn away - then kept thinking/dreaming about it all night. I can see how you got a little bit obsessed with Ralph/John! What a wonderful character. I know the conversation you mean and it was the most gripping part of the show, for me. RA was amazing in that scene, truly mesmerising. It was so sweet - just wanted to hug him!! And was it Techno who mentioned the "don't ever feel you can't tell me anything" line? That was adorable. I find it hard-going to watch but it's one of those things that will stay with me for ages. I have truly never seen RA better in anything.

I hated Andrew. I felt sorry for him at first and can see how he got himself into that mess but his wife has just had a baby and he goes out to snog another woman?! I wanted to slap him too.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 20/01/2011 10:06

Andrew, for instance, was a t**t.

PassTheTwiglets · 20/01/2011 10:57

Reading the press pack from Sparkhouse and it says that RA had 2 lines in Phantom Menace - is that true? I didn't think he had a speaking role... maybe the lines were cut?

Right, must stop thinking about this and go and sort out a Tudor worksheet for DD. She's still off school (4th day now) so I think we need to do some work!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 20/01/2011 11:17

DS1 is making Georges Marvellous medicine at school today.

Also DS2 actually told me he liked school today! He did not moan once and scooted off as fast as he could and then ran off to play with his friends staright away Smile. How's your today?

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 12:31

Good to hear the nursery newbies are settling in ok.

Shame about DD Twigs - is she in Yr 2 or 3 (trying to get some idea of what's coming for own DD...!)

I'm glad it wasn't just me that though Andrew in Sparkhouse needed stringing up. I did wonder if I might be a bit biased (surely not Hmm)

What really annoyed me was the fact he was so vicious when he realised she wasn't going to be with him and even knowing what she'd been through he made everything about sex. Especially having totally let her down and sodded off to do his own thing in the first place.

PassTheTwiglets · 20/01/2011 13:50

Oh how brilliant about the marvellous medicine! I've always been slightly nervous of the message it could potentially send (hey kids - why not drink medicine for fun?!) but what a fab idea for them to do :) So glad your DS2 like it today! How often does he go? My DS wanted to go today but I'm only sending him twice a week at the moment. Very tempted to up it to every other day though :)

DD is a bit better but she is being a drama queen with it. Says she feels TERRIBLE and feels the sickest she has ever felt and she can't possibly walk - yet she managed to skip when I dragged her into town this morning and she asked if she could have some sweets so she can't be that bad :) I experienced the "how do you get one kid to school when the other is poorly?" dilemma for the first time this week though! That was interesting!

Still keep thinking about lovely Ralph John. My mind was wandering in town this morning - he just really grabs you as a character, doesn't he?

Are you going to see The Kings Peaches tonight, Small?

Vaguely amusing - his teacher was apparently showing him the globe and he he pointed to a country and said "that's Africa!" and it was! I told her it was a complete coincidence that he got the right country but she was still impressed :)

MrsLN, DD is in Y3, in a mixed Y2/3 class Hmm.

Hello ladies. Phew!

Well, first of all my subject for study today was RH S2.2, the one with the casino. Guy was absolutely decicious in this. I am getting quite cross with him actually, I am still looking for pics of him incandescent with rage, or sly or scornful or generally nasty, but all I can find is him looking devastatingly handsome.

Anyway, in addition to the excess pulchritude, this is the one where he says ''Fetch''

Gah!

As regards acting, there is one scene where he has no dialogue, all the others are talking and he is just standing behind the sheriff. but the expressions that go over his face speak volumes. And all so subtly done, no mugging or gurning. The lad can't help himself, can he? Stock villain, and he makes him the focus of our attention.

In other news, I now remember why I avoid going along to the trading post quarter as much as possible. It's because my shopaholic gene raises its ugly little head. Today my seemingly random list (but you all know why it isn't) was Moulin Rouge and Four Weddings and a Funeral on DVD, a Muse CD and The Vampire LeStat by Anne Rice.

The good news is I resisted a gorgeous designer dress at less than half price, and moreover one which I could actually get away with wearing and look quite nice, on an evening out. But since the date of my last evening out is lost in the mists of time, it would not have been sensible to indulge.

Now if I had been coming with you all to see Captain America this summer, it would have been just the job. As it is I can spend the money on more DVDs etc.

Sparkhouse is sounding like a must, how thud-making, but it'll have to be Amazon for that and I'm still waiting for RH3

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 14:36

Your DD sounds v. like mine Twigs! I share your Hmm at mixed yr classes - I don't think they do that at ours - it's quite a big school - DD is in Yr one, but the oldest there. They seem to be doing stuff about the sea and ships at the moment. Based on the topics they've done so far, and the ones I know about for the future it all seems v. boy-orientated (go on, shoot me for being politically incorrect). Last term was mediavel times, focussing on knights and castles and we have space to come at some point.

Also the Victorians next year, but I don't think that will be quite so much of a problem..Grin!

PassTheTwiglets · 20/01/2011 14:55

Oh I'm desperate for ours to do space - I am a space freak! Well, I'm just a freak, actually :) I don't mind mixed classes within infants or within juniors, but this year ours has mixed infants and juniors (and even worse, imo, Reception and Y1) and I really don't like that. Going to the juniors is too much for the little Y2s...

Theresa, I had no idea you hadn't seen Sparkhouse, I thought I was the only one left who hadn't seen it! So sorry if I've written any spoilers. It really is a must. And under £4! (though I guess you get stuck with delivery charges).

I think "FETCH!" is probably my most wibblesome moment from YT viewings so now I know which episode it is I may skip ahead to that one, just for a little looky!

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 15:16

Another space freak here! I watched the Mars Missions avidly on the net in the nineties and love to watch the shuttle come in to land. I actually get tears in my eyes, mad cow that I am.

No worries about Sparkhouse spoilers, Twigs. There is always so much more to see when you see it for yourself. It wont be much more expensive for me either, since I get the VAT off it and it often covers the price of the p&p

Fetch will be on again tonight for me.
BEG was last week. Shiverrrr!

Funny how we are all wibbling at the thought of being arrogantly ordered around by a man, when we are supposed to be feminists.

was on in the posh dress shop this afternoon. They were playing my tune Grin
