Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

I was in Florida when saw the first shuttle took off after the Challenger disaster. I was in Disneyland at the time and everyone stopped and put their hands on their hearts... it was so emotional and I sobbed the whole way through.

The attraction of the ordering around thing is so odd. I often ponder that. I wonder if it's because I'm usually 'in charge' at home... I'm the one who organises everything (holidays, kids Xmas presents, weekend plans etc.) and I love the idea of someone else preferably in black leather taking over. Or is it because I would never go for that sort of person in real life? I also kind of like the idea of... not being given a choice :O It's most odd. I really don't understand it.

Just remembered that DH is away tomorrow evening so I may make a date with the Fetch Man then.

Yum.

Back again after spending another hour with Guy. I can't believe I got away with watching it twice with no one noticing. Yay!Again, he was so fetching

It says 'wicked soul' on that pic, but I don't think he is wicked. Just damaged. And yum. I was just listening, for another reason, to that BBC interview with Mr Armitage where he talks about Guy with much affection. That was lovely.

Thinking again about begging and fetching, said in that rough voice it cranks up the old imagination, all right. Blush

Lucky you, Twigs, at a shuttle launch. Do you fancy going up and experiencing weightlessness on the commercial version of the Vomit Comet? And then there's the Virgin Galactic spacecraft to come.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 18:42

Good evening wimmin. I have come to speak to you on feminist dialectic and why being shouted at by an arrogant man, even if he is wearing tight black leather and brandishing a sword, is Not A Good Thing.

Oh, alright then. I won't.

TheSmallPrint · 20/01/2011 18:51

Evening Smile. Twigs DS2 goes 4 days. An it's probably Saturday we will go to the cinema (fingers crossed.

Funnily enough, I spent most of this afternoon watching Sparkhouse on YT so have done sod all work!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 20:06

Hello again, all. Techno, maybe we can hang on to our feminist principles by saying we can allow certain men to take such liberties by reason of their gorgeousness. Hence any such liberties are welcome. F'rinstance I would only beg and fetch for Guy, anyone else tries it on and they get the brick in a handbag treament.

Another vote for Sparkhouse then, Small.

Techno, what do you think, should it be next on my list?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 20/01/2011 20:25

Evening all! I was reading about your shuttle launch Twigs!! I've not seen one live, but I've been to NASA in Florida and seen the launch site and many other wonders, including an Apollo rocket which simply blew my mind, the size of it. I also went on a Space Shuttle. It was fascinating.

Hubby's away tonight, so think I may try out Between the Sheets...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 20:32

Lucky Phoenix! I meant because of the NASA visit of course, I am not referring to anything else Wink

I have seen the USS Enterprise in the flesh, however. But that was the air-craft carrier!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 20:34

I enjoyed Sparkhouse very much - although it's quite hard to watch in places - and suspect it would be even better not seen on the itty-bitty screen on Youtube. So, yeah, Theresa, go for it. If you wish.

I am, ahem, not convinced that saying we will only allow ourselves to be shouted out, bossed around and generally demeaned by men if they are gorgeous makes it acceptable, feministically-speaking. In fact, I suspect it makes it worse by reinforcing the cult of physical beauty which on the whole does not serve women well.

::hoicks up dudngarees::

You may want to rephrase that last sentence, Phoenix ...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 20/01/2011 20:47

...I may want to get Between the Sheets...? Is that OK, Techno?

BTW, Twigs I did NOT appreciate that bucket of water you tipped on my head on Twitter earlier.....I may be forced to take steps if you do anything like that again...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 20:49

Marginally, Phoenix!

Oh you twitterers. The pranks you get up to.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 20:59

Okay Techno, Sparkhouse is next in line when I get RH3.

As usual you have a point about the undesirability of bossy behaviour by men. Even I suppose gorgeous ones. Though I do think gorgeousness is not limited to physical beauty. I like a mind in there somewhere.

But Guy is my weakness. Good job he's not real or I'd be in BIG trouble.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 21:17

And there was me thinking I'd grown out of all this masterful men s**t when I was about 17...

I guess it's the mixture of arrogance and insecurity that is so fascinating.

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 21:27

Phoenix - it's not water you need - more like bromide! God help JP once you've watched a bit of BtS...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 21:34

Phoenix wasn't doing too badly before she watched it MrsLN

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 21:41

I know...Envy

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 21:43
The leading man is tall, dark, handsome and quite generously provided for in the nasal department. If there were to be a UK remake ...
MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 21:57

OMG! Gizzy is drunk & stripping on Twitter! Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 21:57

No, I haven't seen this, Techno. They do enjoy themselves in an uninhibited way don't they? I mean the people making the film, rather than the actors. No worrying about being uncool..

I don't think we Brits could manage it!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 22:00

Whatever next, MrsLN? Shock it is certainly wall to wall debauchery over there tonight.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 20/01/2011 22:04

It's extraordinary, isn't it Theresa? Watching that always cheers me up.

So, someone pretending to be Gizzy is pretending to take their clothes off and lots of other people are pretending to get excited? Or possibly are getting excited?

::suddenly feels very old::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 22:10

Here is a who will never take his virtual clothes off on Twitter, anyway.

He can be masterful, too, but in a nice way.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 20/01/2011 22:14

I suppose the thought of Gizzy taking his clothes off is not uninteresting but this smacks too much of Runcorn, perhaps...

MrsLucasNorth · 20/01/2011 22:14

He was unlacing his leather kecks when I posted, which was quite a nice thought, but by the time I got back it had all gone a bit Kevin & Perry.
