Just in case no one opens a better one

Is it me or is there a touch of Gizzy about the shoes?

I'm quite enjoying 'Birdsong' so far. Is s bit odd and not my usual sort of thing but s'ok. Need to.get back into it though, haven't touched in since going back to.work.

Oh, bit if (v.) minor celebs spotting - saw Keith Barron coming out of my local Waitrose today!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:19

Phoenix, it would be lovely indeed if we could have such a sexy dwarf but bits of rubber have been mentioned and I fear the worst

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:22

Well, I've just been in Bermondsey, in Spooksland.

::digs up a little bit of pavement::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:24

If they cover his face with bits of rubber, they have completely lost the plot!!

I am convinced they won't do that though...I mean...what a waste...also if they are looking to him to be the Hobbit eye candy, then it would be pointless to start messing about.

My back is still aching..maybe I need a doctor

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:29

Is there any of that pavement left, now, Techno, what with all the mad fans digging it up and licking it all the time?

I thought those two beardy photos of Guy were rather like I imagined Uthred to look, though maybe the Anglo-Saxon geezer is a tad wilder of locks.

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:29

That doctor's not very dependable, Phoenix. I'm still waiting for him to come and stitch my almost-severed finger.

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 22:30

Theresa you are v naughty! I had to go back and have another look at the shoes pic Grin.

Re 'Birdsong - it's been a couple of weeks, but I didn't think the sex was too bad. I've certainly read worse. I would say it could do with leaving a bit more to the imagination in a few places. And there is one scene with his lover's teenage step-daughter which is cringe inducing and apparently irrelevant to the plot, but I.may be proved wrong about that as I read on I guess.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:32

As I've said before, Theresa, only the very most foolhardy would risk licking any Southwark pavement.

It's Saturday night. Shall we have a disco?

::still old, still groovy::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:32

Phoenix, RA might be fed up to the back teeth of being eye candy, and after all he has paid his dues in that category, poor man. So he might insist on the bits of rubber.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:37

Bit of , Techno?

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:40

But the suits will need him to look beautiful. They may be roping in Leggy and Frodo to help market the movie, but they need more than a couple of 2 minute cameos to bring in the ladiez..they will not cover him up...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:42

That's what I mean about the Bad Sex Award, MrsLN. All that detailed description of the mechanics is very unerotic - far better to leave it to the imagination.

::Decides it's better not to quote the most risible passages here::

Hey, look! SF has actually won the Bad Sex Award, although not for Birdsong.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:44

they will not cover him up...
So do you reckon shirtless dwarfs too? Confused

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 22:46

That's made me curious to read Charlotte Gray, now, Techno.

Did you seen his bit in the Telegraph Review today about Pride & Prejudice?

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 22:47

Shortness, slightly hairy chested dwarves without any prosthetic additions...Grin!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:48

Shirtless dwarfs - oh yes...isn't there a scene were they strip off and have a swim...or is that just my -fantasy- imagination!!!!

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 22:48

That should be shirtless, obviously!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:48

Try again:

Shirtless dwarfs - oh yes...isn't there a scene were they strip off and have a swim...or is that just my fantasy imagination!!!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:51

No quotations tho, Techno, wot a Faulking shame. I was hoping to pinch some to ginger up my next story.

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:52

I suspect you're right, Theresa. The Hobbit may be his bid to shed the telly eye candy label and to be taken seriously as a thespian. And I doubt that the preferences of middle-aged ladies are what the film's marketing strategy will be built around - we are not a key demographic, alas.

Excellent start to our disco. .

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 22:53

Mention shirtless and you ladiez go off at tangent by the time I get back.

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:54

Any of you witty ladies want to give me some ideas for this week's caption comp in the Crinkle Zone...?

Caption comp

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:55

I really want to enter, but I am rubbish at coming up with anything...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 22:57

I am Grin that as soon as MrsLN knows a book has won the Bad Sex Award, she wants to read it! No, I don't read the Telegraph at weekends. What are his pensees on P&P?

I bet if you googled, Theresa, you could find some of Mr Faulk's ::cough:: colourful writing.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 22:57

I think I need to head off soon....
