Just in case no one opens a better one

What's the prize, Phoenix? A night out with The Man?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 23:01

If only...there's no prize...except that the winner gets to choose the picture for the following week.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 23:03

But it seems to work, at least, it's been going for well over 2 years..this is contest no 135

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:05

I am not much good at that sort of thing Phoenix, either, so I cannot help.

Thanks for the Faulkes tip, Techno but I think I might pass. Stomach not feeling all that clever tonite! I know I shouldn't have boogied down quite so energetically to Kylie just then, since I inadvertently smeared too much germolene on my liberty bodice before I came

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 23:08

Perhaps you should re-phrase that Teri...?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 23:08

Germolene on your liberty bodice? I dare not enquire.

So is it just me on the dance floor then?

::Throws more shapes::

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:08

Phoenix - is that pic RL or John Miligan in Moving On?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:09

Phoenix, something about slashed budgets and is this going a bit too far re transport solutions?

Tired and can't put it into proper English for you

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:11

With Germolene, who needs a rabbit, anyway, Phoenix?

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 23:12

It's not real life - Moving On, I think, or possibly Spooks...?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/01/2011 23:13

I'll have to mull on it... good night....

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 23:15

Phoenix - How about something about the long drive to NZ? [there will be about 200 entries on similar lines]

::Wonders if Boots are aware of this new use for Germolene::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:15

I bet Lady Gaga knows all about it.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:15

Germolene? Rabbits?

The first thing that cam eto mind when I saw that pic was "I see you baby..." a la the Renault Megane ad Grin

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:17

Phoenix I'm fairly sure it's Moving On (haven't seen it yet - is awaiting collection from the 'safe house' tomorrow along with VoD!), but I recognise the somewhat teddy-boy-ish suit from the stills/You Tube clips I've seen

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:23

{grin} MrsLN, if thats's the same Megane advert we used to get over here -- the locals didn't understand so did not realise the oooh la la nature of it, ha ha.

Have been trying to find the Seb Faulkes article on line and link to it but the Telegraph site is playing up - he describes Mr Darcy as a 'heartless depressive'

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 23:30

Oh dear. Mr Darcy is a bit tortured and gloomy, but rather swoonsome, nevertheless.

MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:34

Going off at a tangent for a moment - has anyone here seen 'The Book of Eli'?

Dh is watching it at the moment and have had to leave the room....

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:34

SF is a man, how can he get the appeal of Mr Darcy? Even when he isn't in his bath. It's just sour grapes, I bet.

Besides, if he is that bad at writing sex scenes, his idea of what's what is bound to be a bit skewed.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:39

I think SF is probably missing the point that to most women any guy who is arrogant and aloof is a) a challenge and b) simply in need of the love of a good woman to break down his barriers

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 15/01/2011 23:40

?In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:45

Another of those truths universally acknowledged, MrsLN. Except by blokes like SF.

WEll put and well quoted by Techno, there.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/01/2011 23:46

Still no comparison to "I do not wish to marry you because I want to possess you, I wish to marry you because I love you."

(with apologies if I've misquoted there - will leave it to the Academy expert next time, but you get my point!)

On a lighter note...

Bad sex award winners

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/01/2011 23:50

It's so delcious that Darcy is prectically dragged kicking and screaming into admitting his passion. He can't fight it!

SF's idea of sensual?
Wot's for dinner love?
Fancy a s**g later after the footie?
