Just in case no one opens a better one

My Amazon wish list still has quite a few on it....

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/01/2011 23:03

I admit I also have a cleaner, so don't feel guilty, Twigs. But I work a full time job...

MrsJohnPorter · 13/01/2011 23:04

She is a lovely mummy and being v. fab at the mo. She would normally disapprove hugely of my silliness and extensive dvd purchasing but I she knows I'm in need of a bit of escapism right now...

Am not sure about being MrsJP - I may revert back...

PassTheTwiglets · 13/01/2011 23:05

She does hours a week, Techno. Thing is, she's not very good but I don't have the heart to fire her :(

LOL at questioning whether he winner has the most or least, also at "should've kept his boots on" :) And "dumped as well as flattened" - ha ha, you ladies are making me giggle this evening!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:05

Great vid, Techno, and how well the music fits the visuals --i would never have imagined it would but it doea. That was a gentler age, was it not, when you could go and dance in a nice atmosphere with a lovely frock on and not get deafened and blinded on a packed floor like you do in the 20/21st century,

Twigs, I hope you didn't give your mum a look at Cold Feet, the sight of Lee is not for the faint-hearted

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 13/01/2011 23:09

MrsJP, I'm sure Lucas won't mind - there are plenty of us to minister to him :)

Goodness, so who do I introduce myself to first? Wolfie, Lee, or John Standring?

MrsLucasNorth · 13/01/2011 23:10

Back to my main man - love JP but just didn't feel right.

Love that song Techno, although the version.I've got is sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:10

Well, Twiggy, I think it all depends on what the competition is measuring: devotion to the Source of Our Inspiration, insanity or stinginess. Did you deliberately omit how many hours your cleaner does?

::wink::

::Imagines Twiggy's cleaner spending 30 hours a week on the sofa thumbing through magazines::

I found that vid Theresa when looking for something with a FAS soundtrack. Did you notice the very brief glimpse of dear old Fitzwilliam at the end?

I'll go and have another rummage.

MrsLucasNorth · 13/01/2011 23:12

John Standring definitely!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:12

Twiggy, I suspect you will have to choose according to your mood of the moment. What does everybody else think?

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 13/01/2011 23:12

Oops, I missed a digit! Was supposed to say that cleaner does 3 hours a week. But she is very slow, I wouldan't need that long with somebody more efficient.

No, Mum hasn't seen Cold Feet. I remember it back in the day but, like history lessons as a junior, I didn't realise at the time how interesting it really was :)

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:20

Poor Twigs, re your non-cleaning cleaning lady. I used to have one many moons ago but found it was actually making more work for me as I used to clean before she came so she wouldn't think we Brits were total sluts.

As indeed, Brits are not. Just me.

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:23

I've failed to find anything else with a FAS soundtrack but I did find . It is a little bizarre, but if you stick with it there are some images which might be The Man in Star Wars. The one with Natalie Portman looks plausible to me.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:24

Should say that Ralph John Standring is very sweet (and quite heroic in his understated way) and certainly worth spending time with.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/01/2011 23:30

Almost forgot that I also have The Vicar of Dibley DVD...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:31

Well, Techno, it is never a hardship to look at images of the Man in his various guises. I must look at those Star Wars bits again on Full Screen -trouble is my laptop screen is hardly crystal clear...

Maybe Phoenix can tell us what she thinks.

PassTheTwiglets · 13/01/2011 23:31

After Thre Goldrush was lovely - I adore that song. I think you are right about Blokey Next To Natalie Portman.

I'm off to bed now - watching Spooks 'til 1ast night wasn't good when I had to be up at 6!
Enjoy the rest of your evening, girls! x

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:33

Nighty night Twiglets and happy unbirthday today! So glad you had a good time on your day.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 13/01/2011 23:36

Night night. I'm off too as am still catching up on lack of sleep from wknd and will no doubt need a late one tomorrow with all my new research materials!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:37

I must get to bed soon. Would have gone an hour ago but we are half-watching Hot Fuzz.

::intellectual credentials blown out of the water::

Twiggy - I think it's The Bloke but I read somewhere that there are no known photos of his Star Wars appearance. So either I'm wrong or someone has been very painstaking in going through the film frame by frame. Which I guess his most devoted acolytes would.

Here's . It's very beautiful but tragic and sad and not to be watched if feeling fragile. You have been warned.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:45

Too late, Techno, I already watched it. I know I shouldn't have.
Just wan to break out the hot soup and blankets...

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 23:48

Goodnight MrsLN, hope you have a peaceful sleep

And goodnight Techno, too, if you are off to the land of Nod.

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:48

'Sfine, Theresa. I felt I had to give the warning, in case you complained I'd traumatised you, but of course you're free to ignore it.

::passes a freshly-laundered lace-trimmed hankie::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:49

Goodnight twiggy and MrsLN. Sweet dreams!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 14/01/2011 00:09

::puts the cat out, flings the empties in the recycling and turns out the lights::

Goodnight everyone!
