Just in case no one opens a better one

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 21:46

Oh, did anyone hear the piece on Today today [sic] about children and their imaginary friends? It occurred to me that MN is a network of imaginary friends for grown-ups.

::dissolves into a random scattering of electrons::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 21:49

This is my entire collection:
One TV channel showing RH2 once a week (3 repeats)
DVD Spooks 7 and 8, RH1.
Audio books Venetia and LOTN

Not a great deal.
But TBH, you wouldn't want me anyway.I fear my cleaning skills are even more sub-standard than Dixon's, MrH and the Berries would have sacked me long ago, if I had been their employee.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 21:54

so let me get this straight. MN has this program that generates all these virtual personalities for me to talk to.

So does every Mumsnetter get the same group of VPs? Or does it generate a different lot to suit each RL person's idiosyncrasies...
Or is it me that is imaginary?
Now we're back to The Matrix...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 21:58

Dare I list my Armitigiana? I may shock even myself

North and South
RH series 1 - 3
The Impressionists (if Amazon ever release it from the warehouse)
Venetia

I suppose that's not too bad. Am not going near Amazon for a while.

::virtue is its own reward::

I am hopeless at domesticity. When I hear Twiggy talking of her decorating I feel completely inadequate. I would sack me, too.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:02

I forgot to list my N&S -- maybe because it was a freebie, but still it was naughty of me

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 22:04

Well, I don't think it's quite like that, Theresa (although I do think that some of what children get from their imaginary friends, MNers get from talking to other MNers). But, then again, perhaps you and all the other Academics are products of my imagination rather then being generated by the MN Supercomputer. Maybe I'm actually looking at a blank screen here and it's all a hallucination.

::Twilight Zone music::

MrsLucasNorth · 13/01/2011 22:13

Back again! My list of Armitagiana is quite scary, especially as it had all been acquired in the last 3 months. Easier to say that I don't have any Robin Hood or Cold Feet (although had had CF and about a dozen eps of RH out of library), haven't got BtS (not for want of trying grrr!), Impressionists is next on shopping list.....I think that's it Blush

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:13

Dave, stop. Stop, will you? Stop, Dave. Will you stop, Dave? Stop, Dave. I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going...

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:15

Well done MrsLN, though at this rate I think Twigs is going to be the Armitagiana Queen.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:17

Or maybe not!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 22:17

In space, noone can hear you scream.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:26

I hope the MN supercomputer is okay, I need my imaginary friends. It's so very cool, they all rather like the same things I do.
Such as mill-owners, pretty spy men, sheriff's evil henchmen, doctors in orange jump suits, MI6 personnel and the like...

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:34

Agreed MrsLN, and that must take the Oscar for most shots of RA in a single vid. But maybe a bit violent for you, Techno?

tI did so like the sunlight shining through Twiglets moment at about 0.20

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 22:38

Eek, MrsLN. That one should come with a warning.

::stares in disbelief::

I need .

I like my imaginary friends too. Especially when they dress up in imaginary fancy dress to attend imaginary parties, dance to imaginary records and drink imaginary Fizzy Gizzy.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/01/2011 22:40

Hi - I've been out!! I think I may win on the Armitage collection:

North and South
The Impressionists
Sparkhouse

Cold Feet (not yet watched)
Frozen (not yet watched)

4 x RH S1 audiobooks

Over a years collecting....wow!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 22:42

You know me too well, Theresa. I enjoyed the nonchalant little head shake at about 28 secs but baled out long before the end. Didn't like the song either.

::should have been born in 1840 emoticon::

MrsJohnPorter · 13/01/2011 22:48

Well ladies, I feel I've been loyal for Lo.g enough.

Time to change my name & my virtual hubby Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 22:52

Lordy, Phoenix. Where do you hide your stash? Under the floorboards?

Just been down to the basement. and with ::cough:: one addition could have been perfect.

PassTheTwiglets · 13/01/2011 22:55

Hi Gang... I'm like you, MrsLN - all of my collection has been obtained very recently. Goodness knows how long it will take me to work through it all.

Re. domesticity... I have a cleaner Blush I wasn't coping at all with... 'know, that whole pesky RL thing, then Dr Twiglets got a promotion and we decided to spend the extra cash on a cleaner, until DS goes to school full-time. I do feel guilty about it but I figure that my sanity is worth more than the guilt :)

Had to giggle at my mum's reaction to my presents - Dr Twigs had helped her through my amazon wishlist, bless him, and she asked me today "why on Earth did you want a random series of Cold Feet - why didn't you want to start at S1?" :) She knows about my obsession research interests but hasn't realised he was in it.

Your Fri night sounds bliss, MrsLN! What a lovely mummy!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/01/2011 22:55

Just had a bit of a chuckle at the juxatpostion of some of the items on Phoenix's list..
Cold Feet frozen between the sheets Grin

Should have left his boots on...

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/01/2011 22:58

Yes, expensive, but I don't really buy DvDs other than these and kids DVDs - hubby is sent so many for free we always have stacks of unwatched ones.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 13/01/2011 23:01

Thing is, if this is a competition, is the winner the one with the most Armitigiana or the least?

How many hours a week does your cleaner do, Twiggy?

::wonders if she could justify it, on grounds of own domestic uselessness and need to provide employment for others::
