My mater too had a tendresse for Sacha Distel. For me, he starts a thought process which leads inevitably here.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 24/12/2010 12:08

Are all our mums in their early seventies then?

What's everyone up to today anyway? I'm prepping the veg for tonight & tomorrow with Now That's What I Call Christmas in the background!

After last night's party I am doing nothing much at the moment, just sitting here at the lappy till I gather my few remaining cells together and apply the jumpstart lead to them. Then I shall get to the never-ending story of veg prep.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 12:20

brain cells obviously. You can see the state I'm in..

SnowyMoon · 24/12/2010 12:30

Hello everyone. Right, have blitzed the boys rooms. Snowyboy2 had another nosebleed in the night so that was a lovely sight. Snowyboy1 is now down with the lurgy and is coughing like a dog and seems to have lost his voice a bit. Poor thing, just in time for Christmas too.

Starting on the kitchen this afternoon. Woe betide anyone who so much as drops a crumb after I'm done.

PassTheTwiglets · 24/12/2010 12:36

Happy Christmas Eve, all!

My mum is 65, I think (how awful that I don't know! Either 64, 65 or 66, anyway). She likes Gene Hunt :) She used to like George Segal. I was at the hairdressers yesterday; all the hairdressers and clients were chatting together and the subject of crushes came up. My hairdresser loves Johnny Depp and I said that he did nothing for me. She asked who I liked and when I mentioned Our Boy, all the girls went "huh? who's he?" I explained that he was Lucas in Spooks and they collectively exclaimed "Oh him - oh God, yes!!!" which amused me greatly :)

Today is finalising the last few jobs - DS's Yule Log was hysterical. I decided to just let him rome free with it and it's more of a Yule Splat than a Yule Log. The worst part - making mince pies with DD - is to come Think I will have to have a glass of PC and Russchian before I can tackle that :)

Hurrah for Venetia, Missy! I would love to chuck the whole family out for the day and listen to that whilst I get on with Stuff in peace but I guess that's not really the spirit :)

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 12:37

Poor Snowy, perhaps Missy can send Dixon round to give you a hand. Though I fear she might more inclined to sit on a chair and fan her face while she sips at some cordial and watches you do it all.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 12:40

ROFLMAO at your hairdressers' lot, Twiggy.
''Oh him ? Oh God, yes!!!!''

Sums it up neatly, does that..

SnowyMoon · 24/12/2010 12:41

Yes please send Dixon, DH is worse than useless. I have sent him recycling.

My mum is 74. She watches Merlin on a Saturday night, wouldn't surprise me if she watched RH too. She was always in love with Neil Diamond and Terry Wogan Xmas Grin.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 24/12/2010 12:43

Hope the Snowyboys are still well enough to enjoy the festivities.

Twiggy - that reaction at the hairdressers was much the same as the one I got from a group of mates down the pub t'other night! I didn't find mince pie making too bad with DD but am not about to let her loose with choc-fudge frosting.

Today was going well, but MIL has just called and pressed my buttons big style - grrr!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 12:43

Terry Wogan, another one with Trousers...
Xmas Blush

SnowyMoon · 24/12/2010 12:55

so I hear..

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 24/12/2010 13:45

Perhaps using the magic of MrsLNP's machine, we could send Dixon to everyone's abode to help with veg prep? Poor Tansy is, I fear, otherwise occupied.

Alain Delon? I had forgotten about Alain Delon. Zut alors.

I refuse to believe that we are having a conversation about Terry Wogan's trousers. Perhaps we should ask Twiggy for her BBC insider knowledge. Then again, probably better not.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 14:16

Yes, I feel really sorry for poor Tansy. And it gets worse, apparently...

I fear she Brought It On Herself by skiving off the way she did. So I guess she would be more hindrance than help in the veg prep dept anyway.

PassTheTwiglets · 24/12/2010 14:35

Yes, definitely better not ask me :)

So do we get to read more of Tansy's trials and tribulations? I do hope so. And MrsGuy'sPants, are we getting the Two Turtle Doves instalment later tonight?

SnowyMoon · 24/12/2010 14:38

I only saw that first story about Tansy was there more. What prep do you all do on your veg on Xmas eve?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 14:51

Twiggy and Snowy, Tansy Parte Ye Seconde is more or less ready to go, will post later tonite if you are around?

Looking forward to the turtle doves myself

Re the veg prep, I though we all pre-boiled our sprouts for a couple of hours on Christmas Eve, so they'd be easy to cook on the day, providing we got them on after breakfast. Or that's what Limpopoians believe.

SnowyMoon · 24/12/2010 15:01
Xmas Grin

I shall await the christmas eve installment.

PrairieOyster · 24/12/2010 16:52
