Just finished wrapping the pressies - exhausted - sorry had to do it

Imtoosexyformybliaut · 24/12/2010 00:09

Re the envelope, it probably does. They had a job lot printed, thinking it would serve said fans right for Not Knowing Better at Their Age*

*the words their age refers to anything above the age of thirteen..

Indeed, Bliaut. .

Hi Oyster, you missed some fun. Read back and don't miss MrsLNP aka Gizzy's Unmentionables's Christmas Sci-Fi extravaganza

MrThorntonIsMyToyBoy · 24/12/2010 00:12

It's the upper end of the scale that's less easy to explain/excuse/justify, Bliaut! Xmas Blush

PrairieOyster · 24/12/2010 00:13

What RA Twitter page are you referring to, teacups?

I can't believe that eBay tat, maybe they don't sell much?

Imtoosexyformybliaut · 24/12/2010 00:14
MrThorntonIsMyToyBoy · 24/12/2010 00:17

Tiffany earrings? Pah! I shall be wearing these on Christmas morning.

And so to bed.

PrairieOyster · 24/12/2010 00:22

I dare you to wear those earrings!!

Imtoosexyformybliaut · 24/12/2010 00:23

I dunno Toy Boy. I take it you don't watch such televisual tat as Desperate Housewives Though it might make a good second title for our little establishment here.

Anyway, one of the yummy mummy generation heroines was discussing her rather tasty young gardener with a neighbour, who is a little old doddery lady with grey hair, elasticated waisted pants and probably worse still underneath them.
Mrs Whatever her name was, asked YM, do you still have.... urges ?

Oh yes was the heartfelt reply, with a predatory gleam in the rheumy eyes.

So it would appear you are never too old for a teenage crush.

Imtoosexyformybliaut · 24/12/2010 00:25

Those earrings are just the thing to go with my Rudolf antlers...

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 24/12/2010 00:32

We used to watch Desperate Housewives religiously but somehow lost the, umm, urge. That scene must have been in one of the earlier series because I think I saw it. Indeed, I remember Gabriella disporting herself with the gardener.

ABoxOfThorntons · 24/12/2010 08:09

why do I always miss the party and wake up with a hangover in the corner?

GizzysBraies · 24/12/2010 09:05

TooSexy - how did you know it was me?!

As for RA eBay tat - where do you think my mum got my new coaster from? Although I did draw the line at her suggestion that I might like a 'Mrs Richard Armitage' mug - not sure I'd want to explain that one to DH [ fgrin]!!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 24/12/2010 09:11

Now, GuyPants, I can see the point of the coaster, as everyone needs somewhere to put their mug (although I do worry about poor Lucas being scalded with hot coffee). But how could anyone who does not live alone explain away a Mrs Armitage pillow case? And as for those earrings, words fail me.

Does this mean that your mum is also an, umm, admirer?

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 24/12/2010 09:36

Ladies, share my joy. The Man is now sitting on my knee.

vintageteacups · 24/12/2010 10:23

I'm not up on the whole twitter thing - doesn't RA have his own twitter page and people 'follow' him and see what he tweets?

Sorry to be soooo thick but me and technology of the iphone kind dont' mix.

I'm more at home writing letters with a quill and riding in a horse and carriage Grin

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 24/12/2010 10:44

As far as I know (but I have only dipped my toe in the waters of twitter and Oyster is really the person to ask) The Man himself does not have a twitter page (or, if he does, he has had the sense to go into deep cover so that his besotted fans can't besiege him). There are, though, plenty of Armitage blogger types on twitter and numerous people who have adopted the personae of his characters. There are several Messrs Thornton, for example, and a notorious Lucas/John Bateman who is very fond of smutty puns of the sort that a 13 year old boy would find hilarious, hence his nickname on this thread of TeenageTwitterLucas.

I too am more familiar with the fountain pen and the Basildon Bond, but feel I need to acquaint myself with the miracles of modern technology - after all I found my way to MN - so that I can keep up with Offspring.

And here is .

GizzysBraies · 24/12/2010 10:45

I don't think RA himself has a Twitter page, it's just characters (although I'm willing to corrected - and sent a link Grin).

Missy, my mum can see where I'm coming from and is willing to indulge me up to a point, but she herself is far too sensible for such nonsense (and anyway, her heart still belongs to the late, great Sacha Distel)!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 11:12

OMG, Sacha Distel, my mum had a yen for him too.
''You are ze one for me, for me, for me, forrrrmidable''

How did I know it was you? Elementary my dear GB. I eliminated the impossible so that whatever remained, however improbable, had to be the truth.

Missy, so thrilled that Venetia has arrived and you are about to make the acquaintance of the delicious Lord D.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 24/12/2010 11:21

My mum actually met him a few years ago (think she did in her younger days). She's got a couple of lovely photos with him taken about a year before he died.

Going back a few posts - I used to love Gigi - haven't seen it for years so if anyone spots it in the listings over Christmas let me know!

Funnily enough, my childhood cat was named Sacha, after Mr Distel, and DD suggested Jasper a couple of weeks ago if we get her a cat. Imagine my giggles on listening to Venetia a couple of days later...Xmas Grin

Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 11:37

Get one like this , MrsLNP

MrsLucasNorthPole · 24/12/2010 11:51

I'd really like Russian Blue, but they're about £500 and we're having enough trouble convincing DH to get.any kind of cat in the first place so I doubt I'll get my way on that one somehow!

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 24/12/2010 11:58

If you had a Russian Blue, you could call him Lyuka...
