Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

I am sure stripeyboy would love that special story, if he wakes up again Ill he sure to show him. Repeatedly.

Holly that does sound very noble, shame he has to die again though.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 22:25

There are five such stories, Snowy. Perhaps they would distract SnowyBoy tomorrow, when the doctor calls?

MrsLucasNorthPole · 20/12/2010 22:35

Oh I don't know - much as I hate to sound unsympathetic to Thorin's plight at least if he's killed off they won't be dragging our man off to NZ for a sequel or prequel which (hopefully) means more chance of The Rover or some other home-grown goodies coming to fruition.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 22:38

That's true enough, MrsLNP. From my POV, the fewer Hobbit movies the better.

Have you had some Chateau Gizzy?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 22:43

The academy can certainly furnish a cure for many ills.

He does die so beautifully though, doesn't he, Snowy? Guy's wide-eyed look as he shuffles off this moral coil is quite heart-wrenching.

Prompted by Missy's question earlier, I have been trying to decide which Guy look floats my boat the most. The ones where he's smirking and arrogant, mainly, I suppose. And the one where he's taking off his Ye Gappe teeshirt with his back to us.

I think I must be getting more like Teri the Fangirl every day.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 22:45

Excellent point re Thorin, MrsLNP.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 20/12/2010 22:48

Don't mind if I do Missy!

Might help me through the wrapping which I normally enjoy but am finding thoroughly tedious this year, along with the rest of it tbh.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 22:53

Perhaps each of us has an evil twin, Holly? It probably fits with your multiple universes theory. My evil twin is (as you determined) partial to running her hands under Mr Thornton's white shirt and feeling his hot breath on her neck. I, of course, would never be so bold.

Ships ahoy!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 20/12/2010 22:59

Methinks Missy has partaken of a little too much CG, judging by that last post Xmas Grin!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:04

It's all Holly's fault, MrsLNP. After she wrote her first creative essay on the combined effects of Tennyson and Polish cordial, my perspective changed. Xmas Wink

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:08

Oh Lordy. that's the one.Trying to hide a smirk of my own, there, Missy, with people about. I have suddenly developed a tickle in my throat, as camouflage.

Of course. Teri would be waiting for part two of the show, but as you so eloquently put it, I would never be so bold.

I don't think the awful weather can be helping towards the holiday spirit, Mrs LNP. Difficult to enjoy simple things like wrapping prseents when you have spent a large portion of the day battling the elements, or worrying about spoiled plans.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 20/12/2010 23:18

My DH hates Christmas and I think the Scrooge effect has rubbed off on me. Also had so much on right up til end of Nov that there hasn't been much build up which is the best bit really.

Anyway have Spooks 7 to look forward to in my stocking (just need to think of an excuse to avoid day at in-laws so I can spend day on sofa watching it in peace with Baileys and a chocolate Orange Xmas Grin)!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:21

Sorry, Holly.

How go the Christmas preparations in Limpopoland? I feel rather hmmmm about it all, but did some shopping today which was surprisingly painless (which probably bespeaks the economic downturn and lack of people in the shops). I can't summon the enthusiasm to wrap the stuff either - maybe I should lob it at people, still in its carrier bag, and claim this as an eco-bonus? Xmas Wink

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:23

Bailey's, a chocolate orange and Lucas? How much more pleasure can a girl stand?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:28

Dump the Baileys and replace with a Sea Breeze.

Dump Lucas and replace with Mr Thornton, the sort of man who would look very fetching carving the turkey while wearing a novelty jumper and a hat from a Christmas cracker.

Scoff chocolate orange.

Ah. Perfect.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:30

I have to get most relatives and friends' pressies off pretty early, so just have the immediate family to deal with, and did all my buying for them at the same time.
I have just heard the houseguests can't get a plane, so that lets me off a rather large hook. Very hospitable of me, n'est-ce pas?
Luckily I didn't get masses of food in yet!

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:34

Just think of all that Guy ogling quality family time that has been restored to you.

More Chateau Gizzy, anyone?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:37

Chacun a son gout, Missy. My own would be different again, I was thinking of Mrs LNPs preferences. Though I do rather like Lucas myself. I would not dare entertain thoughts of Mr Thornton, of course, turkey in a jumper or no. Or did I misread that last post of yours?

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:41

Exactly, Missy. and, yes please, more Chateau Gizzy, can't be bad.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:42

Yes, exactly my point about the diversity of tastes. I hope MrsLNP manages to snatch her Lucas-Bailey's-choccy orange moment.

I thought the jumper was on Mr Thornton rather than the turkey, although that could be a novel variant on angels on horseback. I am not suggesting that he should wear a Mark Darcy-style awful Crimbo jumper, just that he might, perhaps, be the noble sort who would do so in good spirit.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 20/12/2010 23:50

I expect Mr Thornton has worn his fair share of dodgy jumpers, as knitted by his adoring mama and incompetent sister.

I don't think Guy would be such a good sport if he were required to wrap up in something woolly for the wassailing.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:54

Do you think that airhead Fanny Thornton could even knit a jumper? I imagine a tangle of wool and needles and nothing to show for it. Much like my own efforts at knitting, in fact.

You're right, I'm sure, about Guy's reluctance to don a woolly pully. But his swordsmanship would make short work of carving the turkey.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 20/12/2010 23:55

If the fanfic I posted the link to the other day is anything to go by, Guy wasn't totally adverse to woolly garments Xmas Wink!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 20/12/2010 23:59

I'm not sure that torrid bit of fiction can be relied upon as evidence of Guy's sartorial preferences!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 21/12/2010 00:03

It appears that historically it was accurate however...

medieval pants according to Wiki

...am I to take it that our most morally upright prof took a sneaky peek at the Guy-porn then? Grin
