Welcome to the new common room! Grab yourself some Twiglets and a glass of Chateau Gisborne or some Polish Cordial and come on in - the water's lovely!

That would make a good vid song, Mrs LNP. What sort of tempo are we talking here?
(still chuckling at your festive name, it's very Lady Gaga)

MrsLucasNorthPole · 08/12/2010 18:15

Didn't actually listen to it (one of DH's) - just saw the title and read the lyrics Xmas Grin

MrsLucasNorthPole · 08/12/2010 18:16

I knew someone would see the smutty side of LucasNorthPole! It was actually DD that gave me the idea this morning, wittering on about Santa en route to school!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 08/12/2010 18:21

I blame Teri the fangirl.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 18:24
anyway Mrs LNP. Sorry about the sniggering, Teri has a lot to answer for.
BodenBabe · 08/12/2010 18:35

Will catch up on the rest of the thread later but I want a Xmas name too Can't think how to change mine - yours are all so good! I don't like my MN name anyway, can I change back to my secret santa name, will it confuse people?! If I was PassTheTwiglets that would be easy to alter for Xmas :)

BodenBabe · 08/12/2010 18:36

Mistletoe, something has happened to you ever since you changed your name to something a teensy bit risque. Do we need to call Dr Track?

Here's the original

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 08/12/2010 18:49

Lotster · 08/12/2010 18:59

Ha ha, loving that you breathless wenches are still at it, I only lasted the first two threads!

Having been I'll this week I have rediscovered watching a bit of tv that I actually want to watch, as opposed to what me and the Bloke can agree in from the Sky Planner once we've wrestled the kids to bed...

So having caught up with the recent series of Desperate Housewives and a certain vampire saga that I'm probably too old to watch, and swore I wouldn't watch, I think I'm ready for the RA back catalogue.

So, Thornton or Guy, is it better to perve watch one before the other?!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 19:00

Stuff the original. then, Mistletoe. Thanks! I think I shall treat myself and upgrade.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 19:02

Yet again, I've noticed, it is my post that hits the 666 mark. Is there some hidden meaning behind it? Does this mean I shall be refused at the gate of the convent?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 19:05

Welcome back, Lotster. Flowers/Mistletoe always say these threada are like the Hotel California, you can never really leave.
Thornton or Guy? Both splendiferous. Toss a coin.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 08/12/2010 19:06

Hello Lotster. Well, it's been remarked before that the Academy is like the Hotel California - you can check out any time you like but you can never leave. As your own return perhaps confirms.

I will, naturally, say that you should start with North and South. Theresa will no doubt rock up in a moment to say that that is only for namby-pamby types and you should get to work (oooh err missus) on Guy.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 08/12/2010 19:07

Oh no. I must be so predictable. Theresa, however, has confounded my expectations.

PrairieOyster · 08/12/2010 19:08

Someone posted on C19 a while back that they saw The Man buying a Christmas Tree (this was 3 or 4 years ago) ...so a run in at Homebase or B&Q is not out if the question.

C19 is just shorthand for 19th Century and the name was chosen because it is THE British Literature Messageboard - of course!

C19 started as a messageboard for N&S primarily (and other C19 literature ie Austen, Gaskell, Dickens, Brontes etc) and has just grown since then - it's huge now. So there's lots of chat about The Man of course but equally lots of chat about classic and modern literature and other cultural activities and events, even politics and religion... I really like it. It's a really busy messageboard too, there's always people there 24x7 and it's very international too.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 19:09

Got there before you, Missy. You did me wrong over the Guy/Johnny choice matter, I was very democratic and fair.
Now Teri the fangirl is another matter.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 08/12/2010 19:13
PrairieOyster · 08/12/2010 19:17

Sorry I'm still a few pages back, working my way through - sorry for my non sequiters

Theresahollyinyourmind · 08/12/2010 19:20

Cheer up, Missy, I only did it to confuse you. Everyone knows that according to Teri and me, the wonderfulness of Fallen Angel Guy, Sexy Cupid Par Excellence, er, outstrips that of all lesser mortals, even if they do go mad and remove their cravats.

PrairieOyster · 08/12/2010 19:28

On Twitter I follow a load of Spooks twitterers, Jane Austen tweeters (of which there are millions) and RA fangirls and related hangers on, I tend to follow everyone that I see having conversations regularly with those I follow. Yes I am a Twitter slut. Some people follow me and I check them out and may follow them but in general I ruthlessly block all followers who are just wanting me to follow them.

I've only been doing it for 4 months.
